Liberals Polling Higher than Conservatives..?

I actually noticed this and was suprised.

Can they keep it up, although I've also seen reports like "cons are not doomed to failure in next election as reports indicate" This one was surpising, election is a long way off yet, none the less, it seems that the summit has been reached for the conservatives and it is all down hill from here. Mind though that their polls can't drop too much further unless their base is eroded.

I also noticed Stephan Harper doesn't wear a wedding band...

The polls also dropped conservative support under 30%... of course this is just a poll none the less I havn't seen a poll release showing the conservatives under 30% in a long time.

If 40% holds that is majority figures for the liberals...

also the PM's moment of glory seems to be dimming somewhat with a minus 30 approval rating. (not sure how that works..)

Still years away though... just felt it was worthy of noting this bump on the road.

I've been following politics long enough to know the CPC is done and could be relugated to third party status after 2015. This kind of thing bas been happening for years. Every time there's a new leader they move ahead in the polls, but they fall as soon as people find out what they're like.

My bigger concern is that we could have a provincial election soon in Ontario and low information voters (Rush's polite way of putting it) will vote Liberal thinking that Justin Trudeau will become Premier.

I've been following politics long enough to know the CPC is done and could be relugated to third party status after 2015.

Follow it even longer and you'll find out you can never be sure what the future will bring.

A wide plurality of people prefer the overall trajectory of the CPC on fiscal issues especially, however the variety of odd characters associated with the party and 'scandals' in the last 2-3 years will probably cost them a majority. Newsworthy items like Beb Oda's $16 orange juice matter to enough people to make a difference, unfortunately.

3 or 4? The left has been saying the Conservative Movement is in decline for decades. Reform was just a passing fad, they were never going to get more than a handful of seats, and even then only in Alberta, don't you know.

If you've been following politics long enough, then you'd have a clue what you're talking about. Sure, Canadians are embracing Trudeau, who is certainly young and charismatic and feeds off his father's legacy. Honest, however, is another story, and he's going to play the divide and conquer game just like his father did, and just like Harper has done. There's nothing honest or energetic about him. He could have the IQ of a spider monkey and still win the next election. Harper would be done with or without him. By the next election he'll have been in power for ~10 years and that's usually long past the expiration date of most political leaders.

This BS about threatening democracy is ridiculous though, and it's not something anyone but spastic know-nothings like yourself rant about. Also, popular opinion is well against the unions nowadays, particularly the public ones, and the impending defeat of the Ontario Liberals (near future) will give you all the evidence you need for that.

I have good friend inside the CPC and he told me the young conservatives are ready to take him on, They have binders full of stupid stuff justin has done and said. Once people find out how much of a lite weight this guy is , it will be over for him and it will be the end of the liberal party i self. IMO Alot of libs will be coming over to the CPC.

Justin is a lightweight when it comes to politics and it is clear he has "Ignatief-a-titis"(being prone to say stupid things,among other symptoms)

But to answer this poll first.I have seen a couple polls that put the liberals still at around the 22-23% range,so this one poll really sticks out???

I can say one thing I think we can all agree on and that is after Justin is crowned,there's going to be a lot of attacks on him!

Yes I am. I was wondering if it would be smart to go after him hard, because people will feel sorry for him. but they afe sure once people realize this kid is nothing but nice hair, things will turn. Plus the fact there are libs that do not care for this coronation of trudeau and don't have any love for the NDP, that they could headed over to the CPC.

Correct. Those that can fit in between commercials during American Idol, that is. Those votes will go from NDP to liberals. The CPC will come out on top again, but probably with minority status.

Liberals will win. I think Pierre Trudeau was the worst PM Canada's ever had, but there are tons of "low-information" voters who revere him for all sorts of fluffy, insubstantial nonsense, and those same brain-dead tendencies will lead them to his son. Those people, unfortunately, are the vast majority, and will vote solely based on charisma (history's taught us how well that usually works) rather than ideas/plans (Justin has presented zero) and credentials (school teacher...yay).

I firmly believe that Harper needs to go, and I was hoping that the Liberals could present an intelligent strategy and leader (Marc Garneau, Martha Hall Findlay etc), but they've chosen the intellectually bankrupt path instead with a leader who has nothing but his father's name and a winning smile to stand on. There's no real cure for a dumb electorate. Voters fell for Harper's idiotic attack ads and they'll fall equally hard for Justin's vacant smile.

Oh come on, spammers aren't about stopping a discussion from getting noticed. Spammers spam, that's about it.

Nothing said on here (or other forums) matters anywhere or anyone. I don't believe that anything said on here or other forums will change anyone's mind about anything. In fact, IMO when anti .......... (name it) becomes so strident it negates whatever the poster is trying to say.
