In prime time, Jack Nicholson turned to the Democrat's wife to open the envelope, for Best Picture. WTF?

As Steyn will no doubt argue, if the Republicans hope to win the presidency or federal congress, they must win the hearts and minds of Americans - or some such. Steyn will argue that the Left has won the media war.

I'd argue that conservatives must simply be correct, and as Mark Twain said, tell the truth.

Betty Ford was on the very liberal Mary Tyler Moore show in the 70s and was much loved. I don't know that Hollywood is as virulently partisan as people on here.

I don't know how you can compare Hollywood celebs to posters on a political forum, many who are likely trolling.

In the past politics might have been fairer. It's been said that the stuff Reagan and Nixon did would have been considered socialism by today's crop of conservatives.

I'm not an expert on US politics but it would appear that the parties are far more polarized making the appearance of a Republican leader at a major Hollywood event even less likely.

Also, lots of flack about some of the jokes Seth McFarlane made. But Seth said it himself that he was not the right choice to host the Oscars, now we know why. At least Seth stays true to himself.
