whoopD! The guys been mostly at Harvard anyway these last years... now he got a full-time gig! Gee... weren't there any worthy Americans to fill the position?

Yes, I'm trying to figure out why this is news. Seems like a typical Canadian success story... goes the US... makes a lot of money... and then BC posts about him !

You keep him. We are a bit PO'ed with him because he messed up and let Harper get in.

Thank god for that,or we would be worse off them ONT.

Yeah I'm still waiting to hear what comes out of that court case in Guelph. Might have been nice to hear the truth about robocalls while C 23 was still in the senate. Or does Harper now have control of provincial courts?

Maybe he'll run into Dalton McGuinty, he's there now, they can do some reminisceing.

Yes, I'm trying to figure out why this is news.

It's news because now it is all official like.

Also not sure why this is news.

This isn't a "news website", this is a debate forum. This is debating material!

Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year! Total fail of the moderation on this site! That reminds me, never ask Greg to be a business partner! NEVER!

It's news because now it is all official like. The former leader of Canada's "natural" ruling party has gone back to the USA. Maybe he likes the lower gas prices.

I'm sure he enjoys a prestigious position at Cambridge.

I'm also sure he is embarrassed to be one of the biggest losers in Canadian politics.

Also sure there are lots of liberals on this forum that don't like to be reminded of who was the bigger loser, Ignatief or the liberals who picked him to lead the party!

I guess you forgot that Ignatief lost his seat. That is very very bad for a federal leader!

and... 'Pierre Poutine' had nothing to do with that one.

Not sure if that fictional character had anything to do with it?

Either way, our parliamentary system dictates that you win your constituents support to sit in parliament.

Ignatief should have designated more resources and spent more time in his own riding.

But his arrogance got the best of him and he was on a non stop Canada tour. Stupid so stupid so stupid!

Gotta give him points for being honest at least. Also not sure why this is news.

How "Canadian" a PM would he have been? He's spent most of his adult life anywhere but Canada. He's a political tourist.

Yes...but Mr. Ignatieff is consistent and congruent with respect to the United States (for the most part), unlike the the usual America bashers from Canada who still cross the border for personal interests and gain.

Heaven forefend. Maybe they'd like borders similar to those between ISIS and Shiite parts of Iraq.

Which ones are those?

ya, which "American bashers" are those... crossing the border for personal interest/gain? I'm not sure but, uhhh... I do believe that border gate swings both ways, especially for "those" Canadian healthcare wait-time deflecting bashers... looking for cheap meds!

I do not know of any honoured academics who went on to successful political careers. I believe that the personalities required for success are very different as to honesty, integrity and management.

I admire Michael Ignatieff for his work as a historian. He has held senior academic posts at the universities of Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and Toronto. He has also held positions in numerous other universities. I have been privy to attending a few of his lectures and was not disappointed. He is a winner of numerous prizes in publishing, TV and radio. I will not bother to detail all of his accomplishments, thay can be found on the Internet.

I find it sad that there is an attempt to evaluate his success based only on his unsuccessful foray into politics. He is a distinguished Canadian who continues to bring fame to Canada and will be doing so in the future. To show that you are unable or unwilling to fight in the mud slinging sport of politics does not make you unsuccessful in life, it makes you ill prepared to be a politician.

Ignatieff has found a cure for the Canadian identity neurosis....if you can't beat them...join them...again.

why... I do believe your very own special personal identity neurosis shines through here... along with obsessiveness. Well done Captain America!
