So they are supposed to change the rules just for that person?

That is being too politically correct

I'm sure it will occur to a transgender male - a "maturally born female - that he can enter the contest. Then what are they gonna do ! :)

I object to your derogatory use of the word "it".

Perhaps this will be the challenge that finally blows such stupid pageants away. Good riddance.

They should have their own pageants. They probably already do.

But never had most of the requisite parts to be considered one...

[ed.: c/e]

We all have the parts to be either male or female. Whether we develop into one or the other is hormonal and can be changed. Sometimes nature gets it wrong, and it can be corrected.

That doesn't give that person the right to enter any pageant they want. Rules are there for a reason.

That person LIED on their application knowing full well they did not meet the requirements to enter this privately funded competition.

That is the bottom line. This is not a government funded event, They make their own rules

The charter does not apply here

so you would date this person?! and possibly have sex with a male who turned themselves into a female?!

highly unlikely

Oh I think I see your problem: Mis Universe Canada should be sexually attractive to you, but she's not f***able enough for you.

The pageant is ostensibly about exterior physical beauty, not sexual gratification. If you're not attracted to her, use the picture of another contestant for your 'gratification'. :D

You've just clarified why pageants are stupid crap.

Whether an individual is male or female is a genetic difference. Hormone therapy won't let a female grow male reproductive organs, or vice versa, that can only be done with surgery.

Yes, people can be modified, altering their body chemistry, adding and removing various organs, to make some kind of mutilated being that can call themselves the other gender. But it is no more than that, a mutilation.

Now, people can do what they want to themselves, they have that freedom in our society. But the rest of us have the freedom to consider or not to consider these surgically modified entities to be the gender they claim to be.

I expect my Miss Universe Canada to be a woman, not a manwoman, this is not Maury & jerry springer here

I see you're another one of those benighted dopes who doesn't understand the difference between sex and gender.

But you said the rules allow any "natural born" female to compete in the pageant, right? So why are you changing your tune?

The pics I've seen of this girl. You wouldn't be able to tell he/she was a male unless you had a closer look or he/she told you.

I guess in a purely beauty/body/personality competition her gender of birth gives her no advantage.

BUT transgendered people have tried to compete in women's sports where their genetics do give him/her an advantage.
