Shady Posted July 6, 2014 Report Posted July 6, 2014 The fact that Saddam purchased chemical weapons from U.S. Sources back in the 80s is common knowledge. Nobody's blowing the whistle on anything. The fact that Russia currently supplies arms to many countries in the Middle East is also common knowledge. They're also assisting Iran with its nuclear program. Monty, you're just wasting everybody's time as well as forum space. What's your next big announcement going to be? That Reagan applied arms to the contras? That the English monarchy had ties to the nazi regime? Oh wait I know, that Spain plundered South American and Central American gold! Breaking news right!? Quote
Shady Posted July 6, 2014 Report Posted July 6, 2014 Old news and topic...debated years ago here at MLW. Many nations supplied chemical weapons precursors, binary agents, and munitions to Iraq, including Canada: http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/topic/18101-curveball-admits-wmd-lies-colin-powell-pod-at-cia/page-3#entry632895 Yep. Next it's going to be a thread on Tianamen Square followed by the British occupation of India. Quote

marcus Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) The U.S. supported Saddam with their use of chemical weapons against its own people and the Iranians. This is also out in the open, but not many people, especially the apologists, are able to acknowledge this dark truth. http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2013/08/25/secret_cia_files_prove_america_helped_saddam_as_he_gassed_iran Edited July 7, 2014 by marcus Quote "What do you think of Western civilization?" Gandhi was asked. "I think it would be a good idea," he said.
monty16 Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 The problem is marcus, US CIA agent Pelletiere investigated the gassings at Halabja and determined that the chem weapons used were only being used by the Iranians. So that makes the question one of whether he lied or not. If he lied then it was to cover up the fact that the US supplied Iraq with the weapons. This was originally uncovered by Jude Wanniski who was an advisor to the Reagan admin. But the point that needs to be considered is that only weapons which the US doesn't use itself on civilian populations as well as military personnel are declared weapons of mass destruction. Everybody here can read the term and understand what it means. It means, weapons that are capable of causing mass destruction. Far too many people have been hoodwinked by US propaganda. And it's not coincidental that most of those people are those in Canada who support Harper. Harper lies to the Canadian people in his effort to push along the US propaganda effort. So let's get back to the basics: Which country waged a war on a relatively small and defenceless country on false pretences? Which country uses wmd's and then made up lies to say that the other smaller country possessed wmd's? When we establish that truth then we will also know which country's ex-leader should be tried in the Hague for crimes against humanity and then hung by his heels from the nearest lamppost and shot full of holes? Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 Please don't hang former Canadian PM Jean Chretien for bombing a relatively "small and defenceless" country (in 1999). Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
monty16 Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 Hold all countries and countries' leaders to account for signing on to joining the US in their war crimes and crimes against humanity. If it is determined that Clinton's Kosovo campaign was such a crime then none should be able to escape justice. I must have told you a hundred times now that that tactic is not a defence of a US president. I will never stoop to the level of accepting that it could be. You choose your level of personal integrity and I'll choose mine Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 It's not about you or me, and we already know about Canada's "integrity" in such matters. The only thing to settle on is the price. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
GostHacked Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Where are those WMDs?? Still have not found them. And now all the hardware that the US left behind, because it was too expensive to bring home, ends up in the hands of this ISIS group. More blowback. Quote

Shady Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 Yep...I hear that April also gave Denmark the "green light" to invade Canada! No doubt. Apparently Saddam had permission to violate his ceasefire, violate UN resolutions, refuse weapons inspections for four years, and pretend to have WMDs. Quote
