eyeball Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halabja_poison_gas_attack The provision of chemical precursors from United States companies to Iraq was enabled by a Ronald Reagan administration policy that removed Iraq from the State Department's list of State Sponsors of Terrorism. DogOnPorch Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 The usual jibberish. Thiodiglycol is a precursor of of most known pesticides. Missed this part, I guess. The know-how and material for developing chemical weapons were obtained by Saddam's regime from foreign firms.[22] The largest suppliers of precursors for chemical weapons production were in Singapore (4,515 tons), the Netherlands (4,261 tons), Egypt (2,400 tons), India (2,343 tons), and West Germany (1,027 tons). One Indian company, Exomet Plastics (now part of EPC Industrie Ltd.) sent 2,292 tons of precursor chemicals to Iraq. The Kim Al-Khaleej firm, located in Singapore and affiliated to United Arab Emirates, supplied more than 4,500 tons of VX, sarin, and mustard gas precursors and production equipment to Iraq. DogOnPorch Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 How bout when he got these? How about Rumsfeld? Any good conspiracy theories? My meeting with Saddam, which took place the next morning, has been the subject ofgossip, rumors, and crackpot conspiracy theories for more than a quarter of a century, partic-ularly after I was involved in the administration that removed him from power in 2003. Sup-posedly I had been sent to see Saddam by President Reagan either to negotiate a secret oildeal, to help arm Iraq, or to make Iraq an American client state. The truth is that our en-counter was more straightforward and less dramatic. As I met with the Iraqi leader, we sat at opposite ends of a gold and bur-gundy–upholstered couch amid plush surroundings. The large room had intricately carvedwooden doors and walls inlaid with marble. In a country where the people didn’t receive reli-able electricity or water, it was discordantly ostentatious. Our meeting was considerably more formal than my long session with Aziz. This time Iwasn’t pulled off alone. Two members of our mission were included—Bill Eagleton and RobertPelletreau—along with Aziz and an Iraqi interpreter. GostHacked Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 Only the idiots think that people are anti-American. I like what America used to be. Not what it has become. But you can blame the leaders for taking the country down this road, and blame the American people for putting up with it all and not standing up for themselves as a great country should. When the run up to the Iraq war was happening, people like me who said the war was not just, we were called idiots, unpatriotic, stupid, ect ect .. now that we have a good deal of the lies debunked since the invasion, more people than not now think that the invasion of Iraq was unjust. Which has SFA to do with liking or hating Americans. But since there is a track record of lies to invade countries, people should not believe the hype by the leaders who say countries like Iran are bad for the world. I guess we need another 9/11 to take it to the next stage. Could always try blaming Iran for it. Quote
