nicky10013 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Marxism has something to do with politics that may be of concern to some. Not in a sarcastic comment. That should be laughed off as well. Like I said in a different post, this isn't just about ideology, it's just as much about partisanship. Hence, the double standard here. Quote
kimmy Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 I have dabbled in wiccan myself for a very short while. lemme guess: Wiccan M seeks Wiccan F to join in sky-clad fertility rites. amirite? -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
bloodyminded Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 This is a good point - and missed by many liberals: Bush and Obama had similar backgrounds (although Obama was a Senator, and Bush a Governor) and were both swept in on a wave of emotion... It is one issue of the political hero-worship to which I alluded earlier. Obama--whose campaign won an Advertising Industry award for best marketing campaign of the year, a telling development--came along at exactly the right time. (In fairness, I should point out that the McCain/Palin campaign was virtually identical to Obama's--"hope and change," barely tweaked--a tidbit magically lost on McCain supporters). It's understandable that in difficult times, people look to a powerful, charismatic figure who wiill change the direction of history single-handedly. And it's always, always about disaffection with the status quo, and desire for either some "New Direction" (Obama, Kennedy) or a Return to the (non-existent) Glory Days (Reagan, the Tea-Partiers). It's better (and less prone to disillusionment) to view government leaders as workhorses, as Representatives of the people working within large-scale institutions to try or fail at improvements....then to gaze at Heroes who will make everything better. bud Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Are we really using highschool instances to attack candidates now? I heard she also threw a rock through a window when Jimmy the quarterback dumped her for another girl in he senior year. I mean come'on, this is past ridiculous! shady: the champion of mature, political discourse strikes again! listen to shady! say no to personal attacks and misinformation! Quote http://whoprofits.org/
Shady Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 She seems like a nice lady, but she sure doesn't come across as bright. I disagree. I think she comes across as fairly bright as well. This was fantastic! Plus a nice dig in at Karl Rove. P.S. Guys, I heard she may have played Dungeons and Dragons in highschool too! Quote
bloodyminded Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 How could a bright person claim that Creationism has as much, if not more, "evidence" supporting it than does Evolution? Whatever one's thoughts on Creationism, that assertion is patently ignorant. Quote As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand. --Josh Billings
punked Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) I disagree. I think she comes across as fairly bright as well. This was fantastic! Plus a nice dig in at Karl Rove. P.S. Guys, I heard she may have played Dungeons and Dragons in highschool too! If she is dismissing it as a stupid high school thing then why would she even cite it as evidence of how much she knows about witch craft in the first place. You don't get to claim you are an expert on something then dismiss ever doing it. ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD DO THAT. "I'm Stupid Christine O'Donnell I use my experience as a witch to say Halloween is evil.....WAIT that story doesn't fit my narrative anymore so now I was misinformed and just a high schooler." Got you Shady so not only is she an idiot. She is someone who jumps to extreme conclusions based on very little experience and fact. Yah she sounds better now. No wait she sounds like an idiot who jumps to rash conclusions and is very easily influenced now. She looked better when she was a witch Shady. But don't listen to me that Shady is an idiot for ignoring this issue listen to these guys call Shady an idiot. GLENN BECK: “It’s creepy. … If you’re at a satanic alter, that’s a couple steps beyond witchcraft, dabbling in witchcraft. Is it just me?” REP. MIKE PENCE (R-IN): “Certainly, she has some explaining to do about that.” KARL ROVE: “[Delaware voters] are probably going to want to know what was that all about. … My view is she can’t simply ignore it. She’s got to deal with it and explain it and put it in its most sympathetic light and move on.” JOE SCARBOROUGH: “You know, usually I like to say, ‘It happens,’ but this is just in a new realm. I’m a live and let live kind of guy but this is out there even for me.” MICHAEL GERSON: “I think the reality here is that this adds to an aura of oddness.” Edited September 20, 2010 by punked Quote

BubberMiley Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 P.S. Guys, I heard she may have played Dungeons and Dragons in highschool too! You equate worshipping at a satanic altar with Dungeons and Dragons? Nevertheless, even given this episode, I don't doubt her character. I think it was more a stupid thing to do than an evil one. Nevertheless, even given this episode, I don't doubt her character. I think it was more a stupid thing to do than an evil one. I think she made it up to justify why she hates halloween personally. It really makes NO SENSE. Although I will take her at her word, she is a stuipd idiot who claims to be an expert at things because she has experance with them, then turns around years later to say No wait I am no expert it is just a silly high school thing. punked Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Is it just me or is Christine O'Donnell absolutely adorable? I don't vote for people based on their looks, I vote for them based on the content of their charcter and the principle they stand for. I know that isn't how a republican would vote and you are trying to change the subject from you stuipd stuip statement of "oh it was high school" but I would just point that out. Quote

BubberMiley Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) I was delighted to see Shady call me a moron for supposedly confusing Wiccans and Satanists when it was actually O'Donnell who made the confusion. She said in the infamous video: One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar and I didn't know it. I mean, there was a little blood there and stuff like that. I guess he'll have to give up the argument that she's bright too. Shady Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 You can always tell when he's getting pantsed. Yes, I'm getting pantsed. You're obsessing over what somebody was doing while they were in highschool. Stay classy. Like I said. I think she might have played Dungeons and Dragons as well. I figured you might be interested since you obviously don't care about real issues. Quote
