Rossi dropped out of the mayoral race. He was at 4% of support in the polls. Not really enough to make a difference in which candidate he'll throw his support to.

What an utter shame that the two extremists are now the front runners in this race..just goes to show you how unbalance the average Torontonian mind is. The intelligent moderates are gone - the persons that did not have "name recognition" have dropped out..Toronto is about to get what it deserves...Ford the extremist piggy boy that will bully the crap out of the residence - OR - the far left Smitherman who is also an extremist - his ideas are so far south --- that he will literally be up your ass...what's wrong with Toronto - are there no centralists who can see the big picture and bring the city back to health?

Look at Smithermans creepy face...you get what you see...and look at the bloated over whelming bully boy yap of the rich guy gone public FORD - he is so far right that he is wrong...looks like Miller will appear to be an angel after one of these two demons take office - a curse on the damaged and over taxed Toronto...YOU deserve it because you are NOT intelligent.

I judge by looks and demeanor. Patalonie looks like a mayor - He might be tiny in stature but the guy seems to have substance - I am a bit stunned at how stunned Ford and Smitherman are. Why is it that the dumbest most ambitious run for political office?

Maybe people really don't want a truely bright hard working and honourable person in the big Toronto chair - I suspect that the powers that be LIKE them a tad dumb...still...it is almost distressing to understand that the average person does NOT understand or see the big picture- Toronto is being taxed to death and the bureacracy grows as the wealth fades along with the spirit.

First post-Rossi poll - and Ford is leading 44 to 38 points.

Who could have guessed that this would end up being interesting in the end ?

The closer it gets, the more likely we'll see an October surprise. What will it be ? Cocaine leaking out of Ford's pocket during a debate ? Smitherman in bed with a woman ? Joey Pants... WITHOUT pants ?

Or will Lastman return ?

If nothing else Ford will shake them up and in doing so, may actually get them to cut the lard out so to speak. Speaking of which, did anyone see the Globe and Mail's hit piece on Ford and fat... wow pretty low class journalism - but.... they must have thought better of it so yanked it because it is not to be found in the G & M or in google's cache. Too bad the Red Star doesn't give it's editorial head a shake now and then. :rolleyes:

I still don't understand why Rob Ford's fattness is an issue. Jean Chretien had a deformed face, but if that was ever mentioned, everyone went insane about it. And George Smitherman is gay, but I'm sure if somebody mentioned that specifically, the same thing would happen. What gives?

As for Ford trimming the budgetary fat, why do his supporters here take his claims at face value when the details of such in his platform simply don't add up? Either they can't read or they can't count.

Maybe pretty boy can bring along his crazed mother who I am sure thinks that taking it up the butt means freedom for all...Liberals debase good human values down to the point of normal people having to wear full body condoms in order to survive the social toxins and filth - generated by liberating liberals that liberate nothing other than your anus.

Smitherman is just a wack job phag..and Ford is a pin head who if elected will do the bidding of some nasty highly focused banking lawyews who will continue to enslave, stress and abuse the citizens..so we have two choices- be abused morally by Smitherman..or be abused emotionally and finacially by Ford the henchman?

Apparently Pantalone's support is quite soft. According to the poll, only about half are fully set on voting for him. The other half may be considering voting for a different candidate, almost all of which break to Smitherman.

I have been hearing that Joe has been trying to get some sort of project passed downtown which could increase the value of land that he or his family own in that same area.

And that city council has been refusing to give the OK for the project, and so thats why joe is trying to run so he can maybe as mayor put pressure on the rest of city council to finally approve the project when it comes before city council one last time before it is killed....

has anyone else heard this and exactly what project are they talking about that joe has been trying to get passed ..?

and if there really is such a project then does he or his family actually own land or property downtown near it ?

I think he strikes his wife that way too

There was this idiot that I knew..He was married to my former wife for about a year..during a domestic disturbance the cops paid him a visit..The cop said "do you strike your wife?" - The idiot retorted..."Don't you beat your wife?" The cop said "of course not" The idiot countered in loathing and contempt "What kind of man are you?"..

Not that this silly tail is worthy of thought..but the idiot was a habitual liar...He would lie about beating his partner..when in fact he never dared lay a hand on her. I suppose in his world this was good PR..

I wonder if Smitherman and Ford will tell tall tails about being men of honour? Neither of these twits has character deep enough to contain honesty...both appeal to the lowest part of human nature and pandering is a way of life for both...as the old guys used to say regarding jerks..."there awuta bee a law"................but as we sense Toronto is becoming an anything go city where there is no law..and really no order...Just jerks taxing the citizens so jerks don't have to do anything but spend and please and pander.
