eyeball Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 ...don't forget PM Martin and that all expenses paid trip for Aristide. eyeball Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Says the America hater. Again, that is clearly not what I said. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 If this helps you, sure. It's not an argument against what I've said. Yes it is.....did Martin have the "right" to do this? No...I would think a Haitian attack on the US is a bad idea for all kinds of reasons. False...Haitians have stormed America's shores routinely....the goal is to become a landed immigrant in evil Amerika! but there is no principled difference between that and what the West has been doing. Wrong....the "West" has elected legitimacy and better insurance. the fatc is, you would object to a Haitian attack; and you support an American attack. Not at all.... I think Haiti should nuke Toronto. Fine for us; not for them. Moral relativism. Good job. Morals are your hangup...not mine. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
DogOnPorch Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 At least he condemns terrorism as a principle, rather than as a nationalistic exercise. Principles...hah. "Principles" go out the window once the gunfire starts. Then it's who stands and who scurries for cover that counts. If Iran gets its nuclear weapons as it desires, your sense of fair play won't amount to a hill of beans. It'll get it's ass handed to it one way or another. bush_cheney2004 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Don't worry your little head BC everyone knows full well that Ottawa has been part of your country's terrorist network. DogOnPorch Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 The vicious attack on Haiti was planned in Montreal...in French. Don't forget the submersible tunnel boring machines depositing nuclear weapons at the Earth's core. You pretty much admitted to that one. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
M.Dancer Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Jesus H Christ...how blindingly Freudian is that? I wouldn't know, not having your unique addled train of thought. Perhaps you aren't aware of the Iraqi campaigns against the Kurds, and with your usual twist on reality, think that iot was a US campaign. I'm also well aware of the fact the US supplied the Iraqis with the chemical and biological weapons they used. You are too but you just don't give a shit because you're an evil venal little so and so who would probably fit right in with the C-suite that charmers like Chemical Ali and Donald Rumsfeld occupy. Oleg Bach Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I guess Iran must figure it's within striking range of these then. The russian mafia sold them workable nukes a decade ago...it is all posturing. Quote
August1991 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I find it the height of absurdity that nations are calling for sanctions against Iran based on their pronouncement that they intend to gain the ability to enrich uranium enhancement to twenty percent. The current Iranian regime is a dictatorship, a theocracy. For centuries, we in the West have fought against such regimes among our own. We have done it as individuals (Galileo) and collectively (Normandy).Iran is both a western and eastern country. At the moment, its pendulum has swung east. It will soon swing west again. I think that Iranians (Persians) will deal with this their own way. This Islamic Regime will not last. Quote

August1991 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) Why did we start installing and supporting dictatorships after Normandy then?--- It never would have gotten started if we hadn't switched sides and started fighting against democracy. Eyeball, have you ever been to Tehran? Have you ever spoken to Iranians about their political situtaion? Probably not.So, your opinion is not really about Iran - it's about your own country (US/Canada). Eyeball, if you don't like the US, say so. But don't mix Iran in your opinion about the US government. I hear the world actually began in 1953.How facile. DogOnPorch, what happened in 1953?Were you there? Moonlight Graham Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I don't think Iran should have a nuke because their gov't is a bunch of a-hole thugs. However, they do have very valid reasons for wanting nukes. The U.S. and allies have invaded both countries neighbouring Iran to the East and West, Iraq and Afghanistan respectively. For the people and leaders of Iran, only a fool wouldn't want a deterrent to prevent a possible invasion somewhere down the line. Also, the U.S. and the West are COMPLETE HYPOCRITES when it comes to the NPT. We have let Israel build a nuke program and acquire an arsenal of nuclear weapons (that only a moron would deny), we let them deny inspectors, and heck it's likely we have even helped him them in their nuke acquisitions at some level. So why do we, the West, not even raise a stink about Israel, yet we condemn Iran? Obviously it has to do with who we are allied with. The NPT apparently doesn't apply if it fits our security agenda. Quote "All generalizations are false, including this one." - Mark Twain Partisanship is a disease of the intellect.
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Obviously it has to do with who we are allied with. The NPT apparently doesn't apply if it fits our security agenda. Point of order please....neither Israel, India, or Pakistan are NPT signatories. India and Pakistan have demonstrated nuclear weapons capabilities....Israel has not. Just for fun, India and Pakistan are Commonwealth states. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
eyeball Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Eyeball, have you ever been to Tehran? Have you ever spoken to Iranians about their political situtaion? Probably not. So, you're opinion is not really about Iran - it's about your own country (US/Canada). By the same token your opinion is not really about my travels abroad it's about my opinions on the West's treatment of Iran. Eyeball, if you don't like the US, say so. I would never say that without including it's allies, which also means us, in the geopolitical context of the West's interaction with Iran and the surrounding region. But don't mix Iran in your opinion about the US government. Again it's not just the US government I'm mixing it with, you're saying I should exclude it? I am tired of reading nonsense posted by people who have an agenda. If you know something, say so. Otherwise, express your moral opinion. What I know is that my opinions are moral one's. GostHacked Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 In the end Iran will have their nuke. That is inevitable. Then we can put this argument/botchfest to rest and start pointing the finger at another country that wants to build nukes and is not friendly to the US. Quote
