Shady
She's as irrelevant as ever. Really? Is that why every cable news channel covered her speech on saturday? Is that why every cable news channel had their own post-speech analysis? Is that why the White House press secretary decided to take on Palin as well during his daily press briefing on monday? Is that why Vice President Joe Biden also discussed her and her speech monday night? Because she's irrelevant? LOL. Is that why respected journalists like David Broder are writing columns about her? Broder: Sarah Palin -- take this populist with a pitch seriously Link And even columnists at The Huffington Post? Sarah Palin Plays Chess Link Is that why she's going to be campaiging for Republicans in the near future, and all the way up until the 2010 elections? Including campaigning for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Rick Perry? All because she's so irrelevant? I'm guessing that in Bubber's world, the economy is in strong shape, Iran is an open and democratic government, and Tiger Woods is a great father, and husband. BubberMiley
Really? Is that why every cable news channel covered her speech on saturday? Which is it? Is she an irrelevant private citizen or an important leader in the Republican party? You can't have it both ways.
Sir Bandelot
Only if they are French. US Congress opts for "freedom fries" Speaking of "Gong Show" government.
Michael Hardner
US Congress opts for "freedom fries" Speaking of "Gong Show" government. Well, Saddam is gone now, and we have the renamed non-French foods to thank. How about 'homicide bomber' ? Roughly 40 uses versus 6,000 uses of "suicide bomber". It's pretty much exclusively used by Fox.
Sir Bandelot
Well, Saddam is gone now, and we have the renamed non-French foods to thank. Apparently the cafeteria staff eventually opted to return to using the original names, french fries, french toast. No congressional intervention was needed for this decision. Common sense eventually prevails- for the common man. Edited February 12, 2010 by Sir Bandelot
M.Dancer
We normally call the french fry at home, chips. As in, What should we have with the steak? Should I make cous cous or should I just put chips in the oven? Only when we are ordering them at a restaurant do we use the N. American name. Even then we are more likely to call them frites. Shady
Which is it? Is she an irrelevant private citizen or an important leader in the Republican party? You can't have it both ways. You present false choices. She's a very relevant private citizen and a leader of the conservative movement. You said she'd be irrelevant. You were completely and utterly wrong. About as wrong as one can be wrong. Absolutely 100% wrong.
BubberMiley
She's a very relevant private citizen and a leader of the conservative movement. So now she is a "leading republican." Nothing I enjoy more than to see you so frustrated about losing an argument you have to declare yourself the winner, over and over again. Shady
So now she is a "leading republican." Where did I say Republican? Can you even read? Btw, how's that irrelevant thing working out for you??? Still avoiding your failure huh?
BubberMiley
Where did I say Republican? Oh right, she's not a Republican unless you say she is. How's that whole relevant thing working out? I guess you must subscribe to her tweets.
Shady
I guess you must subscribe to her tweets. Nope. But I do happen to see her on all of the cable news channels much of the time. As well as on the news campaigning and raising money for conservative candidates running in 2010. As well as seeing her book in book stores and on The New York Times best sellers list. You know, the type of stuff irrelevant people do.
Michael Hardner
She was on O'Reilly again tonight. I'm starting to think that Fox is a parasitic beast that turns potential candidates into Republican zombies that will walk the earth as undead and unelected forever. Now SP has to explain why it's ok for Rush to use the term 'retard' but not a backroom Whitehouse person. It's so unpresidential.... She's going to be doing these for a long time - even if she makes it to 2012 - and by the time Fox discards her unelectable corpse, they will have another controversarian on the air and in the chair outraging the outrageable. Sarah Palin was a smart hire for Fox News Channel, judging by the ratings for her debut on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Tuesday. The former Alaska governor's first appearance as an analyst drew 3.954 million viewers -- more than everything else on other cable new shows combined in the 8 p.m. hour. CNN's "Campbell Brown" placed second with 999,000 total viewers, MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" placed third with 906,000 total viewers and HLN's "Nancy Grace" brought up the rear with 704,000. http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/sarah_gangbusters_start_WG13HFC7Qcpq1RXlfLHuKI ...any questions? Not much at all if you ask Pat Robertson. Why would she have to resign right now? What is it about Gov. Sarah Palin that invites so many silly notions? TV show ratings don't elect presidents. Drawing a large audience doesn't translate to good by any means. Train wrecks generate a large audience, too. Personally, I'm glad her appearances are drawing a large audience. If more people see her, more people will see her for what she is.
Michael Hardner
Why would she have to resign right now? What is it about Gov. Sarah Palin that invites so many silly notions? If she's running, she should resign as her role as a commentator is clearly affected by her future plans. That's just ethical media. What is it about her ? She's a novelty in that she's an up-and-coming (it seems) politician who has (sort of) a television show. That's pretty unusual, and probably unique. Remember the fuss when Bill Clinton went on Arsenio ? Now, all presidential candidates have to go on all major talk shows.
