Leading republican wants war with Iran

Recommended Posts

The presence of Sara Palin on the political landscape is more of a signifier of the decline of politics than anything else.

Oh pshaw or Mr. Hardner, politics in general, not just American, is rife with such light weights...quayle? Dion? Fry?

....Firstly, they need to overhaul the machinery of government completely. The corruption that is rampant in the system needs to be jettisoned somehow. Campaigns cost too much money, and the system suffers from that. I would start there.

Sure..."they" will get right on that just as soon as the corrupt and dysfunctional circus in Canada does the same.

Canada has its own set of problems. I was responding to a question about the US, so don't start shootin' yer guns at the ceilin' in indignation now, B_C.

Bullocks...the "machinery" of US government just ruled that the limitations you seek are unconstitutional. The "problems" are by design, whether you agree or not. Shoot your guns at that.

Yes, the system is designed to expand forever.

There's nothing stopping the parties from agreeing to audited limits.

Bullocks ? What ? Blimey ?

No...we count them all...each election...like clockwork. Always more than two.....just ask Jesse Ventura.

The republic is older than either two major parties.

Yes, and the consequences of the Hot Air Balloon party, or the Free Silver party being there are null. Yet one of them will rise up eventually as the two fat cat parties can't keep feeding the campaign funding monster forever.

What's important is the continued funding, not which parties the funding goes to. Some spend millions only to fail...it is all part of the game. And it is very American.

Not sure what that means, but... at some point somebody is going to realize that the whole gong show that is American politics needs to be separated from the entertainment industry and its attendant graft. The first 3rd party that manages to do that properly will see some traction for it.

The system doesn't need money any more than a 400 pound person needs a burger - and I'm sure you can look out the window right now and see one walking into a Burger King without much problem. Please don't scream that that person has the right to their triple beef Whopper, B_C, because I already know that they do.

Blam ! Blam ! Blam !

No, they will become part of the same "industry". Politics is a product, just like anything else.

Actually, my first thought was how many Burger Kings there are in Canada....but at present....no sitting Parliament....ironic indeed. LOL!

How's that Palin is irrelevant thing workin out for you?

You said it yourself

Your thread title is disingenuous. Palin isn't a leading Republican. She's a private citizen, holding no public office.

It's good to know that even if you can't count on your "gong show" government, you can always count on American corporatism and franchise opportunities. Want fries with that?

Only if they are French.
