That's a lame excuse. He should also be fired for not knowing about it.

If you were the CEO of a company or a public service manager, should you be fired or resign because you didn't know an employee was suspected of stealing?

To answer the OP, nothing so far justifies Mckay's firing or resignation. In any case, McKay isn't going anywhere soon because that would be an admission of guilt.

Fire him and turn him over to face charges for the international crimes he has committed.

Same applies to Harper and any other member of the Conservatives or military.

I don't think that we should blame the military for doing what the government told them to do. It's the cover-up, and the way Colvin was smeared and threatened by the government that really stinks the most.

Clearly the military is complicit in the cover-up. Either that or Hillier and Natynczyk are two of the dumbest fucks going and incredibly ignorant and incompetent.

Do you really believe Natynczyk only learned about the report upon reviewing the file after appearing before the committee ?

Why should he be fired? Why would we expect the Minister of Defence to know something that the Chief of the Defence Staff didn't know? Why would we expect either of them to be aware of everything all of the time? They aren't Gods.

if the grunts on the ground knew and were concerned they would have and did pass on the info to higher ups...if Colvin knew and warned his higher ups then everybody civilian and military knew...so if the military reported it and the government chose to do nothing then the blame rests with the government...if they Ambassador knew how plausible is it he didn't inform McKay and Harper of possible implications of War Crimes???...

Yes, that's why the CDS immediately reversed his position upon learning the truth. Some of you will go to any length to attack one party or another.

Which if one were to believe to be the case, makes him incredibly incompetent.

Seriously, do you honestly believe he only studied the file after giving his testimony to the committee???

Exactly. I can't believe that people are making such a big deal out of this. One guy got tortured...by someone else....probably.

No Canadian Politician I can trust.

Aren't you happy you can say this publicly and not get a bullet in the head?

Because all they care about is win election.

By this time, you should know under out system that's the reason politicians run for office. Only after they are elected can we see if they will damage or improve the country.

It will be a miracle if they don't tell lie.

No disagreement here.

When he's been called to testify at a hearing then yes, he should know what it is he's talking about.

Mundane crap?

Should we all just *yawn* and say who gives a crap about that mundane stuff the next time a Canadian soldier gets killed?

Explain the connection between one talibam being roughed up and the death of a soldier?

And I'm sure the death of a soldier is what keeps him away from mundane crap.
