Shady Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 I don't approve of the job they are doing either. Get health care passed. Yeah, that's why independents are leaving the Dems in large numbers and supporting Republican candidates. Because Obamacare hasn't been passed yet. LOL Quote

Shady Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Posted December 1, 2009 Republicans winning recruiting battle Cook Political Report House analyst David Wasserman notes a telling indicator that the political environment in 2010 is shaping up to be favorable for Republicans: Several Democratic candidates have decided to drop out of tough races, while Democratic members of Congress who rarely face serious challenges are finding themselves with their toughest re-elections in years. Oleg Bach Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 you're totally lost in this republican vs democratic bullshit. aren't you? There is no left or right - Just the money guys and us - and they are not about to share a red cent. Politics are about having your henchmen make sure that you have everything and your neighbour has nothing. So wierd when I see a poitical person pleading to a body of Parlimentarians how an "international banker" that he "repects" should be appointed to a plum position on some committee...case in point...and that's the point - the banker boys use left and right - dems and reps like a pair of hand puppets - it's best to maintain a centralist and moderate mind in order to deal realistically with todays world. Shady Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 Just another Dem who'll be soon waving goodbye to the Senate! Health Care Vote Puts Nelson 30 Points Down in Reelection Bid Nelson's health care vote is clearly dragging his numbers down. Just 17% of Nebraska voters approve of the deal their senator made on Medicaid in exchange for his vote in support of the plan. Overall, 64% oppose the health care legislation, including 53% who are Strongly Opposed. In Nebraska, opposition is even stronger than it is nationally. Link Quote

One more senate seat for the Repbulicans! And regarding the GOP taking back the House, their current leader, Michael Steele, says on Sean Hannity's radio show "Not this year." Yep, he said he didn't think it would happen this year. But he did say that they have a shot. Wow, what a rebuttal to the multitude of information I've posted in the last several pages of this thread. You showed me! OHHHHH NOOOOOO GOP RETIREMENTS MOUNT IN THE HOUSE ... threatening the seats Shady keeps talking about!!! Nice try. I think the key phrase from you link is this... While much of the focus for the last month (or so) has been on Democrats' retirement problems -- set off by a quartet of announcements in swing and Republican-leaning districts over the last monthAND... Those numbers are roughly equivalent to Democrats' current retirement lineup. You're purposely midleading people, and not acknowledging the Dem retirements. Quote

Shady Posted January 6, 2010 Author Report Posted January 6, 2010 Uh oh! Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd won't seek reelection, will retire at end of term Embattled Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.) has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday at which he is expected to announce he will not seek reelection, sources familiar with his plans said Tuesday night. Word of Dodd's retirement plans comes after months of speculation about his political future, his faltering poll numbers and a growing sense among the Democratic establishment that he could not win a sixth term in the Senate. The news also came on the same day Sen. Byron L. Dorgan (D-N.D.) announced he would not seek reelection. Link Another senate seat for the Republicans! Quote
waldo Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Uh oh! Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd won't seek reelection, will retire at end of term Another senate seat for the Republicans! only in your wet dreams, Shady ... Democrat Richard Blumenthal heavily favoured When Chris Dodd retired last night his seat went from one of the most vulnerable to one of the safest for Senate Democrats. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal leads all three of the Republicans in the race by at least 30 points in polling we conducted Monday and Tuesday night before Dodd's announcement.Blumenthal is unusually popular, especially in hyper partisan times when voters like few politicians. 59% have a favorable opinion of him to just 19% who see him negatively. It's no surprise that he's liked by 71% of Democrats and 60% of independents, but even Republicans view him favorably by a 37/35 margin. It doesn't take a lot of hands to count the number of Democratic politicians with positive numbers among GOP voters these days. Quote
