Shady
Yikes! Pelosi's favorable rating in the poll stands at 11 percent.Reid's favorable rating, meanwhile, is even lower: 8 percent. LInk
punked
Yikes! With over 50% on both saying unsure. Great poll Shady. If you look at the poll all the unfavorable it coming from identified republicans, however when pollsters press the question like the newest research 2000 poll both Pelosi and Reid's favorable rating are 4-5 times larger then their republican counter parts. What a bunch of BS from the BS king himself.

Probably not well, but not as bad. Steele can't raise your taxes, or send your sons and daughters off to war. He's not an elected leader, and has zero input in writting legislation. His job is to raise money and help organize re-election and election campaigns for Republican candidates. Nice try though.

Also a fait accompli. Edited April 4, 2010 by Dithers

Or perhaps pointing out indirectly that Conservatives are not happy with the Republican party? Also a fait accompli. Yep, ok, Michael Steele is a moron. Like I said. He can't raise your taxes, and he can't send your kids off to war. He's an unelected official. His only job is to raise money, and help with campaigning. I'm not sure why you're trying to compare him to elected leaders with a thousand times more power. Leaders of house and senate. You've lost this debate. Just move on. BubberMiley
I think characterizing Steele as a moron is a little harsh, although his proof that global warming isn't happening because Greenland is covered in ice and "they called it Greenland for a reason" was moronic on many levels. punked
Not just Republicans but the American people. punked, if you don't like the poll, take it up with CBS! The poll is fine Shady when you actually read the internals it makes perfect sense. No one is paying attention. Over half the people say "don't know" or "undecided" all of them independents and Democrats. Around 23-25% say unfavorable all Republicans and 7-9% say favorable all democrats. So the results of this poll? No one cares and Republicans hate democrats great. I am shocked. http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/poll_health_care_032210.pdf?tag=contentMain;contentBody However when the question is pressed like in a Research 2000 poll (who actually asked more people and weighed the results) we get a clearer picture. Pelosi has a 42% favorable to 50% unfavorable, Reid is 28 to 63%. Not great numbers but when we look at the Republicans these numbers are of the charts. Boehner has a 18% to 65%, and McConnell has a 21 to 64%. See Shady real numbers real analysis not just the parts I like. http://www.dailykos.com/weeklytrends Edited April 4, 2010 by punked

He was elected to be their spokes person and too represent them.
Kissinger
Republicans are now the opposition to the President. They are certain to increase support in both houses, as has been the case throughout American history. Republicans lost seats under Reagen, Dems will lose seats under Obama. Same old story. Shady
Uh oh! Democrats' special-election scramble The prospect of losing two House seats in back-to-back special elections next month has sparked a vigorous, behind-the-scenes Democratic effort, designed to avoid an outcome that could lead to panic among the rank and file and stall the momentum generated by the recent passage of landmark health care legislation. The trajectories of the two elections, which will take place in Pennsylvania and Hawaii over a span of four days next month, have raised alarm bells among top party officials who fear that a pair of defeats in the Democratic-held seats could amount to a Massachusetts Senate sequel, overshadowing President Barack Obama’s health care reform plan and reinforcing a narrative that the Democratic Party is on track for severe losses in November Link
punked
Uh oh! Shocking Shady Democrats campaign for seat. Where do you get this news from Shady? It says a lot about the state of the nation that the Dems and Repub would each campaign for a seat in the house.
Shady
GOP will win House, SenateWhen Republicans are winning issues like education, healthcare and Social Security — normally solidly Democratic issues — a sweep of unimaginable proportions is in the offing. Republicans will gain more than 50 House seats and at least 10 in the Senate, enough to take control in both chambers. That’s reality. Link One can only hope! Bonam
Meh, not like it matters. Republicans or Democrats, America will still be ruled by socialists of one stripe or another. Their only difference is which big government initiatives they want to spend money on, and which ideas of morality they want to enforce on the population. Shady
Yikes!!!!! Democratic Party Image Drops to Record LowAmericans' favorable rating of the Democratic Party dropped to 41% in a late March USA Today/Gallup poll, the lowest point in the 18-year history of this measure Gallup Those are your boys punked! What happened?! I guess those are the numbers a political party gets when you add a failed stimulus plan with a failed mortgage/housing plan, and a hated healthcare reform plan. Hope n change! Seems kinda stupid to me. Republicans always fare worse in those types of polls. Even back in the '94 Republican landslide they polled worse. What do you think it means for the Dems that they're actually rated lower than they were back in '94 when they lost all those seats? I think you know what it means, disaster! More bad news punked... Bart Stupak to Retire Link Looks like there's no room for moderates in the Democrat party.

I remember how certain posters around here saw Bush falling below the 50% threshold to be all the proof they needed that Bush was now a lame duck who shouldn't be attempting any new policies or legislation. Funny how quiet they are about this threshold since Obama broke through the 50 mark in barely a year. If Bush had signed into law a trillion dollar bill at that point, the left would have found new love for guns and mounted an attack on Washington!
