  1. The proper term for it is ignorance. A couple phrases that should ring a bell is 'Know thy enemy' and 'Ignorance is bliss' The higher up you go, the more you should know about the topic you are presenting. And being PTOS, one of the highest positions in the land, he should know or have been at least informed by his preceding staff about the basic difference between the different factions within the Muslim religion. We know that there are many different factions of Christianity and Catholosism, even Judiasm. So it demands the notion that hey, there are different factions in other religions too. And it also demands we find out what those differences are and how they can be used for an advantage. We are told we cannot be ignorant and complacent in this 'war on terror'. That we should be aware and on point when it comes to things that may hurt us. But we can be ignorant about who the US just invaded. It is a matter of knowing the subject you are trying to educate the rest on. If you do not know anything about it, how can yo effectively proceed to correct the issue. All aspects of government should be scrutinized more and with more transparency. Mythinformation and missinformation are the reasons that the general populus of the US is ignorant of the real facts. They were never given the facts. They were made to believe something other than what is really going on. Smoke, mirrors, deceit, lies. Not a government I can support (yes even a Canadian government which has been corrupt for decades). The media has a big role in this dumbing down of the missinformation as well about the war on terror and Iraq. The people did not get bored of the information about the Iraq war. The media got bored of it and switched to some Brittney Spears OMG celebrity catastrophes that really do not belong in the news. Leave that for Entertainment Tonight and talk show hosts like Letterman and Leno. We know very well polls are selected in a way to provoke a response. So it is geared toward an end result. Which makes the people believe what they see is the truth, when in fact it is a gross misrepresentation of what the people really think. But then again, according to you that is all irrelevant anyways. I wouyld think the Iraq war is on the minds of the people just as much as other things, like rising food and fuel prices. Which can be corolated with the so called war on terror. Damned if you do, damned if you don't and in the end it does not matter. This is your logic as I see it.
  2. So much for seperating religion from politics. Can't attack his senate record, so they attack his private social life and the religion he beleives in, which tells me they really have nothing on him. Also you are one that has said here many times that Obama will not get the Dem nod to be President, so really all this talk means nothing. Not to mention you are a McCain supporter from what I can gather here. BUT I AM JUST A CANADIAN, MY OPINION DOES NOT MATTER !!!! Canada is on strike ! We want more money !
  3. If the Loon started shooting and all 25 of them happened to focus their aim on said loon, to me, having a gun helped avoid a bigger crisis. One thing to think about is that not everyone who carries a concealed weapon is a loon. But by the same note, many police officers carry weapons on their hips, out in the open, some of them should not be holding a gun. It all comes down to the person posessing the weapon.
  4. Obama's Muslim question has bene answered in another thread that bears his name. This thread can die, nothing new to see here, move on.
  5. Quite the missleading title of your thread there. For Hussein will be instantly connected to Saddam. Which got my attention for he is dead. So I had to check this thread out. The title should be corrected, for it is already slanted against Obama. And I wonder how this is really relevant (just like the Canadian Opion poll from another poster) to the elections held in the US.
  6. Not to worry, looks like the Americans did not even know what they know.
  7. Not it was political pressure from the US to scrap the Avro Arrow in favour of missle defence technology, which never came to fruition, so Canada scrapped one of the best airframes in the world to support a technology that never came to pass. Diefenbaker simply screwed us. At that time the Avro was way ahead of it's time, and I would guess the US did not want anyone else to get an upper hand on their technology.
  8. Desalintion won't help for land locked countries effected by drought and desert. If we are really concerned about drought, why are we not halting the devestation of the rain forests in South America. Instead of wasting energy on creating or trying to grow things in a climate and area that will not grow vegitation, why not preserve the forests we already have? This can have just as much as an effect on GW. Also, with how the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, most countries cannot afford to buy into this plan to help themselves. if they did the country puts themselves in immediate debt. Again, just to point out that CO2, is good for plants.
  9. Wow BC, you never cease to amaze me. In many threads you talk about how irrelevant the Canadian view point is on American Politics, and yet here you are wanting to talk about just that. This sounds hypocritical to me. But agian my views (Canaduhhhh) don't matter!!! ATTN fellow Canadians, Nothing to see here, move along.
  10. Personaly, I do not fear much. But you have a system in place that the government in conjunction with the Main Stream Media, that everywhere you go, everything you do, everyone you meet is a potential threat to you. Long gone are the days of promoting love and peace between people. Live and let live. No today it is a mentality of, if you do not live like us, then you shoudl die. But on the scale ... AIDS has killed more people than those killed on September 11/2001. And that number will constantly grow. So you should fear AIDS more so than terrorism. The chances of you getting AIDS is far greater than you being killed in a terrorist attack while in the continental US. Terrorism is a perceived threat. Terrorism is the threat of someone telling you that you are in danger and the threat of you being harmed. Terrorism is not the actual act itself. It is then moved on to murder and other things. I can tell you that you should fear rabbits because of this and that. Eventhough the bunnies may never ever cause deliberate harm to you, the threat of it is still there and on your mind. Also, one man's friend is the same man's foe when the rhetoric supports a course of action. Saddam was considered an ally to the US in the 1980's, the US supplied materials to Iraq which was turned into chemical weapons used on the Kurds. The US was ok with it, and never really got all uppity because of it. Only when Kuwait was invaded (very oil rich country) was anything done about it. Then we saw a systematic break down of Saddam's programs , chemical, biological, nuclear. All could not continue after the first Gulf War. Fast foward to 9/11, then those famouse speeches about terrorism and Iraq. No connection was ever made solid (eventhough the media pimped it like it was as real as anything else out there) and knowing that Saddam had little to no chance of ever getting any program off the ground again, but yet he was made to be the biggest threat to the world. Especially a threat to the US, considering they had a very reduced military because of the First Gulf War and years of sanctions, ect ect . Saddam was not a direct or immediate threat to the US. Saddam and Iraq just could not project their power beyond the Kuwait invasion. They had been beaten and torn apart. And yet everyone was to beleive that Saddam could attack you right now.. right NOW. Why was North Korea not invaded? They have a far more advanced nuclear program than Iraq did, (even Iran at this point) and have been playing a political game with the US. One report of them stopping the program, then talks, then the talks break down, NK resumes their nuclear goal.... around and around. No country right now can militarily project themselves like the US. So I do not see any other country a bigger threat to world security than that of the US. Keep in mind the term and meaning of terrorism.
  11. No kidding, I am told to fear almost everything these days. Muslims, gays, lunatic left loons ect ect .... keep them in a perpetual state of fear.
  12. The CIA did not mind using the Muhajideen (OBL's old group) when it suited them either.
  13. Actually, you have been pretty good at making them die for your cause. If you had no cause, they would not be dying.
  14. BC You will wake up someday.
  15. BC I can at least admit I was duped. I can now say I am a lot smarter and wiser for realizing I was being duped and lied to. There is a difference. And this is why my views are more relevant now than they were all those years ago. By this you now admit that there were blatant lies when it came to evidence against Iraq. But for some reason, you cannot admit you are wrong. I know you want to, you come close to saying it. OH and where have I been? maybe it happened before I was born, maybe it happened when I was a young and innocent lad. The most important thing here is that I have learned from my mistakes. I doubt you can (or willingly) say the same thing.
  16. BC It is only irrelavant to you. So why not promote it as is? Promote it as you see it? Why was there a need to dupe the people? You cannot even get away from that. You don't quite go as far as saying that, yes it is wrong. You just simply contribute to the problem by sitting there and doing nothing about it. You are in fact supporting this in a large way. You support lies and deceit, You support invading countries not for the reasons propagandized, but the real reasons for why those countries are being invaded. You are part of the problem as I see it. You are someone I would not trust. Also, because no trust, no faith. You present a good argument for reasons why things must change. In a way you are doing some good by saying that the real reasons are false. You represent the reasons why the US would have never gone into Iraq and Afghanistan if it was not for 9/11 and scaring the living shit out of everyone to do your bidding. YAY FOR STATUS QUO !!!! Yay for no integrety. Yay for lies. Yay for everything wrong. Don't sell me a truck if you really want to sell me a compact car. Don't sell me a War on Terror if you are really selling a project for the new American century. I have no respect for shady salesmen and their snakeoil.
  17. Yes it includes Saudi Arabia.... even Iran ... even OMG !! Canada.
  18. M. Dancer The distinction between who attacked the US and who the US attacked in retaliation of this is also lost on some people limited ability to actually think for themselves and not go with the propaganda machine. If you are a free thinker, then think some. BC But the reasons most think they are supporting the war are not the same reasons the government is presenting the war. You are duping people on the whole which shows how much greed there is. Also how much fallacy is abound in this War on Terror. Many of us see through it. It took me some time to see through it. I did not see it right there imediately following 9/11. The one thing I knew for sure is that Iraq was not connected to the 9/11 attacks in any way shape or form. The War on Terror is a complete farce. Eyeball They don't need to attack Canada. Plain and simple. The US and Canada are friendly to each other and will support each other in most cases. OBL is a Saudi, most of those hijackers were Saudi, so by logic (I know logic is a waste of time on most posters here) Saudi Arabia should be attacked. But wait... OPEC would be all over the US's ass if that happened. So the US takes that threat seriously and plays nice with a country that is as oppressive (even more so) than Afghanistan or Iraq, .... even pesky Iran. This war on Terror is definately not about promoting freedom in the world. Plain and simple. Even the likes of BC-200whatever, will agree to that. You can invade any country under this premise of War on Terror. Since you are fighting an ideology and not any specific group of people, and since this idology has no boundries like those of country borders, you cannot fight a war on terror and gain any kind of progress. American Woman You are 100% correct here. Canada is in Afghanistan as part of NATO. There is no formal NATO support in Iraq. This is important to note as well. I know us lame ass Canadians are as guilty as the US ( of prmoting this war on terror, but you have to wonder why Canada did not opt in for Iraq. It is not about out military stretching thin. If Canada had resource interests in Iraq then Canada would have opted in for Iraq, balls to the wall and all. But that is not the case. And you should ask yourself why. BC 2... The US sure as hell cried like a little baby and had to take the soother out of it's mouth to talk about supposed WMDs and sponsering terror and presented it to the UN. The UN was moved by such sentiments. And to this day no solid evidence, NONE, that supported the claims of WMDs in Iraq.
  19. I am talking about the nonsense of the average citizen in any country that does nothing about it.
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2022991.stm Monday, 3 June, 2002, 12:44 GMT 13:44 UK http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Publ...8dkpee.asp?pg=2 10/20/2003 Well someone is lying. Noting the date of these articles is very important. http://www.democracynow.org/2003/9/16/chen...aq_is_linked_to http://www.hillaryproject.com/?/en/story-d..._fighting_terr/
  21. Thanks for that, but I was talking about the 9/11 attacks, in which none of the hijackers were Iraqi or Afghan. Hard to hijack a van when you are the one driving it. Go twist it some more. So it seems like a great deal of terrorists are home grown right in the US ... what is your point? You have consistancy, I'll give you that. Jazzer, ..... they just don't listen. American Woman .. much thanks.
  22. Again you fail to provide link to back anything you say Topaz. The problem with the Oil Sands, is that it takes quite a lot more energy to extract the oil. More energy than what is gained by extracting the oil. Using up large amounts of natural gas to heat up the soil enough to extract the oil. Remember that Carbon Dioxide is good for plants
  23. So what do we do to stop all this nonesense??
  24. Nope, quite the opposite. Part of the reason I never supported either Gulf War. I am also not fine with this Uranium selling to the US, for greed always trumps everything else. No matter where you are.
  25. Indeed, those Kurds that Saddam gassed, using chemicals from the US, then the US complaining at Iraq that they used WMDs ... same situation. Pot, kettle,,,, whatever.
