Leafless. Well, because it is. Or have you forgot the fact his bilogical father was from Kenya, which is in Africa. You know the fact that you keep hounding on and is a factor of why you won't trust/vote for the man. Those are some deep rooted prejudices. Baseless too. Then you are Clueless as well as Leafless. By that, I should not trust anyone with the name BUSH anywhere in their name, because well, I very much dislike GW Bush. At least I have a basis to hate the name BUSH, you are just grasping at straws. Regulus De Leo Bill-O, Hannity, and the like are idiots. It's hard to describe, but their simplistic rhetoric is so simplistic that it is counterintuitive. I have seen Bill-O bitch about certain things, that we are pandering to them by putting them on TV, then later on in another FOX program they give lip service to the very same thing they complain against. Hypocritical. Also they dig so much on the insignifigant that it is distracting the gullible to focus on something that equates to shit. Also, it is how those people interview others with another view. They are called, nutcases, secular progressives, loony left, PINHEAD, ect ect. This is not journalism. It is what it is. Opininated peices that should be for the most part ignored. I too watch BillO and company, this way I can counter act those I run into that had fallen under the hynotic spell of Bill-O and the like. Scriblett You cannot force people to get insurance if they do not want it. If they did not want it before, they still don't want it now. I fail to see how this is an issue. Now those who want health care, and cannot afford it now, and may be able to under the new system, that is where it will make the difference. also I think this thing on Obama's wife is a distraction. Anything the talking heads can get their hands on to slander someone, to ridcule them. Graduating from Princeton or any university is a personal pride, and has nothing to do with national pride. -
What is China's population? How does this affect the environment? Are the regulations there as good as 'western' countries? Hell, they are trying to clean up Bejing before the Olympics. I have always wondered why that place was chosen. Politics? Because I am sure the atheletes are going to get sick from the dirty air there. If the residents think the air is bad, the visitors are going to puke.

Also, I would rather have a black lab, or newf dog over a pitbull, or even a shitzu Shiloh, our black lab was one of the friendliest dogs I have ever known. But like any other dog, make a move on the owner and the dog will rip you a new one. The only other crime is that the Dairy Queen around the corner here is not open all year rround.

It's pretty easy to tell if the person deliberately has child porn on the computer as opposed to some virus that attracts it. I have repaired enough PCs to know that most people don't even know how to hide their legit porn very well. Or is it legit? Since it could be pirated off the net, since it is copywrited material. Most people are very green with the PCs and really do not understand how data is stored and what can happen to it. I am in no way defending pedophiles or criminals. Ditching the AV won't help either. That will just accelerate the problem. But in the same categorey as child porn, you can lump pirated movies and music and possibly simple text documents that might have hate speech on it. The range is pretty broad. Either way the questionable data is considered illegal. So granny who has lots o tunes on her MPplayer but does not own them legaly can fall victim to this new security measure. Guyser. Interesting articles. One thing in that does not make sense. Border guards looked through the PC. Found images of child porn on the PC. After the arrest, they can no longer access the files without a password. How did they view the files the first time without the password to access those files? If he put it in himself or told the password to the guards, then one of the guards might recall the password. BushCheney I agree here 100%.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/TRAVEL/02/11/lapto...ches/index.html Granted these things could even happen anywhere in the world. New security measures may include laptop files searches. I know many people carry all sorts of electronic gadgets with them on flights. We are accustomed and expect our luggage and carryons to be inspected for the general safety of us all. Granted. I don't even have an issue with that. I could have a bomb or a gun, ect. Are you comfortable with being stripped searched? At the moment, we walk through a metal detector and there are new technologies in place that can even see through your clothes. I am not sure I am comfortable with that. I do expect to be strip searched if I am suspect to something and I am properly detained with the warrants for the search. What level of search are you comfortable with? They do not need a warrant to X-ray our luggage, so one can say that a laptop or any electronic device that can store data long term is fair game as well. However the laptop is like a breifcase. Important and confidential documents are carried around in these things. Now we have a laptop with electronic files. Many people fly for business and it is almost a glitch that a business traveler will not have a laptop on hand. The laptop for business travelers have important and confidential information that pertains only to that business. I don't think the company that issued the traveler the laptop would put up with that kind of search. Now comes the vacationer. I could visit the US and carry my laptop, digicam, cell, ipod, usb keys. Imagine having all your data searched upon arrival in the US. Essentialy this could be a data strip search. Just in the name of maybe catching and stopping a terror plot before it happens. It may be just me, but if the Intelligence agencies are as good as they say they are, and should already know who they want and get the warrents in place before the search happens, like the arresting police officials should be all prepared, right? I find it really intrusive that anyones data can be searched without a warrant. Besides with the Internet as it is these days, your PC can be searched right now and you would not even know it. Hackers are doing it, and so are the so called police who are looking for the hackers or terrorists. So ...... Luggage checking. No problem. Metal detector and a pat down. No problem. Strip search? Better have a good freaking reason and a warrant. Strip search your electronic devices? Again, not without the warrant. I do understand the need for some security measures. But this can go to far in an instant. Scenario 1 - Green PC user. Joe Buck has this laptop. Had it for about 6 months now. Not very good with the PC, but is online often and enjoys it. Decides to hit the US for a vacation, crazy trip of Miami, New York, Dallas, L.A. or whathave you. His data is searched and a virus was on the PC that trafficked spam or possibly illegal and or copywrited material. Now some is on his PC, he can find himself into some problems. To me this comes with not knowing enough about a computer and how it can be compromised. The user should really get to know the electronic gadget in question. But anyways. Joe Buck, through a standard search of his data can put himself into a situation he never thought could happen. It's happened to me before. I got a virus on my PC, a guy hits up my MSN to tell me so. I said, sure ok, then he told me he would close two windows on my PC... boom boom..... uhhhh , he got my attention very quick. Lucky for me this guy was just warning me, he could have done much worse and not even say anything. I unplugged and formatted and reinstalled windows. Are you comfortable with random searches of your electronic devices? If so how far would you let it go? How much of a search are you willing to tolerate. Given the atmosFEAR that seems to surround us these days.

I don't trust reformed 'I found god again' former alcoholics like Bush. Big deal, Obama had a few at a stag night. It's a stag. And he likes to look at the ladies. OMG !!!! Scandelous. Ahem, it was a STAG !!! Can I get my 8 minutes back? -

Leafless But then Glad you are consistant. Is calling me a potential racist against forums rules?? Eventhought this was not directed at me, I did however post some articles from news sources that clearly denounce the Muslim angle.. I agree with you here about corporate american greed. But before in this thread you complained that I was insulting those brave men and women overseas fighting for us because I do not support the war. Obama supported the war and you are complaining about it? I don't get it leafless. ..... Now from your first post in this thread, His choice to tout the black line is his to choose. I'd rather see the term Black being used more often than African-American. Trust me, talk to some black folk, they really do not like Africa-American, or the term coloured. But calling them black, they have no problem with it. I boarded in a black man's house for some time, he was from the St. Lucia in the Carribean. I did not call him a Caribean-Canadian, ... I called him black. I am a half mix of German and English(UK) but for whatever reason, I choose to tout the german anestry for the fact my german grandparents had a lot more exposure and influence on my life because they lived so close to my house. I would see them 4times as much as my english grandparents. But again I digress. So this is probably why Obama chose to be black, when in fact he is a mix race man. White and Black. So if he goes either way, some are going to spot that and point it out that he is forgetting the other half. Yes it is political, tell me one politician who is not doing this for political gain? And reading some of the comments on those articles you have posted, like from http://myrtus.typepad.com/myrtus/2008/01/c...e-of-relig.html are bang on. The artlce is a opinionated piece on the Muslim religion as a whole and does not take into account other things in Baraks life. Once possibly born to a Muslim father who has only limited influence on his life (like the article says his father left when he was two years old, not enough time to make a big difference in regards to shaping Obamas religion. And again the Madrassa thing has been clearly debunked by more news sources than the number of news sources that are still claiming his Muslimship. Now about your concern about minorty groups and how they screw the rest of the country. You know that Canada has always had a long history of french and english. And during the early years of this nation it was a fairly mixed back. Many Europeans came to Canada. But it was at the start dominated by french and english. Upper and Lower Canada at that time. Not to mention that it was a French man who essentially named this country. But I digress again. Let me take a break and come back to this, I need to think some more on this. -

I am in no way censoring you here, I am telling you that the way I see it, your logic within this thread is flawed and potentialy dangerous. The hypothetical scenario was me running for President of the US. With the actual facts of my Opa having fought in WWII for Nazi Germany and how that others may see that as a possible problem in regards to my loyalties to the United States first and foremost as President. I am a Canadian, so this at this stage will not happen. I don't mean to insult you but at least have some forward though in how all this would play out. Obama seems to be faced with a scenario of his father being a Muslim, and therefore Obama is automaticaly a muslim and could be a problem in regards to his loyalties to the United States first and foremost. To tell you the truth, I think all of the candidates will tell you anything to get elected. Most of them are lying through their teeth. But I digress. But as it turns out, Obama is a baptized Christian and a natural citizen of the US, born in Hawaii. It happens to be a black Christian church he attends, cause I guess mostly blacks go there. I hang out with mostly white people. Well cause most of my friends are white. Birds of a feather flock together?? You bring up the question of his citizenship. What if (now that's if this case exists) he gives up the dual citizenship and only touts the US citizenship? Would you feel more comfortable with that? What if he tells you he is a devout christian and not a muslim, which I think he has stated this. Here is a question. Why put on a ruse of being a Christian when underneath he might be Muslim and by your rhetoric Leafless, he is more of a danger to the US as President than Osama Bin Laden is as a terrorist? Putting on the ruse for political gain would be considered very bad and, I think those hardcore islamic fundamentalists, not to mention citizens of his own country. would want to put a target on Obama. "HAHA jokes on you, I am actually a Muslim HAHAH .........*gunshot*" The end result is dangerous, the US would have a freakin heart attack that one more President gets assassinated. Pulled the fast one. Do you really think that anyone in the US would tolerate a President who is a devoute muslim? I really do not think so. The chrisitans and the catholics dominate that specrtum with it seems the Mormons backing them up. I'd personaly like to see religion dropped from the political arena and see what kind of leg these idiots have to stand on. But like Bush_cheney2004 always says, we are just Canucks that don't have a voice in squat in the views of the eyes of the US. -

I am not running for president either, but that did not stop you from speculating that I may be a racist and unpatriotic based on a somewhat hypothetical situation. Not oppressing at all. I am stating my view which is only accountable to me. I won't stop you from saying what you want, I will however point out what I see wrong with your views, as you have let me know what you think of my views. This is true freedom my friend. Enjoy it. Calling me crazy, one might see and take that as a personal attack. But for you I won't. For I am learning something in this thread. If you want, you should just report me to the mods. Also, I don't take hikes, athritis has really kicked into one of my legs that I broke as a kid causeing me a great amount of pain these days. So, let's drop the fist-to-cuffs, pull up a chair and continue this discussion on Obama the Alleged Muslim. -

I am not saying you do not have the right, I am just pointing out that your views are wrong and dangerous (which is my right). And well, his limited time in the political arena to me (and here I will agree with you) is that, he is new to the game and that will play a factor in Barak's chances at the white house. -

Well, you are really questioning Barak Obama's ethics and morals and even his loyalties. His ethics as a black man, his morals as a Muslim, and his loyalties to the US? -

GostHacked replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Alright Leafless. Tell us something in your family background that might make others think of you as unpatriotic and therefor unfit to hold office. What if I told you that my Opa had died when I was young, or even before I was born. Would you still consider me unfit to hold office because of that? Why would you hold that against me? Am I all of a sudden going to 180 on you and ,.,,,, wait ,.. Bush .... Ahhnh yes.... Prescot Bush (George Bush's Grandfather) owned a bank that dealt directly with Nazi Germany http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prescott_Bush But looky looky ,,,, who has been the Pres of the US for the last 8 years? OH and he was not the only Bush in office. ..... your logic is flawed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prescott_Bush...ion_controversy Eventhough Prescott was not a Nazi himslef, he was dealing with them in regards to money and financing. SO with my Opa actually being a part of Nazi Germany, would help me get into office. Even if it was not true, and just a freakin rumour, looks like it did not stop him from getting elected. -

GostHacked replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Leafless, maybe you suffer from reading incomprehension. I talked about my Grandfather, (Opa in german) not my father, who was born here in Canada, as I was. So again this will have a huge factor if I decide to run for some office?? And this makes me unpatriotic? Are you sure I have no clue as to what patriotic means? But patriotism in the US is different in its display compared to Canadian patriotism. As you have stated before what your nickname stands for. Leafless, that does not like Canada, cannot put trust in the flag, this is unpatriotic at it's finest, not to mention hypocracy. So again you seem to shoot yourself in the foot here. I will also tell you that my Opa is going crazy. 80+ years, couple heart attacksm suffering from major dimentia now. He has always been a crab for the most part, something I am aware of and do not hold those qualities in my own person. Maybe it is cause he never really dealt with his trauma during the war. And since you do not trust them Muslims as a group, you are afraid of what they can accomplish. So you are scared and afraid and acting exactly like how the powers that be want you to be. And again, I never supported the war in Iraq. WMDS !!!! wait none? ummm CHEM/BIO!!!! ... wait, cannot find any? ummmm THEY HATE US FOR OUR FREEDOMS !!!!!!!!!! <------ killing me softly with laughter. -

Leafless My issue with that one is he is a Black African (his father supposedly a Moroccan-an Arab)associated if he is for certain also a citizen of Kenya, could present a conflict of interest concerning favouring a culture that Americans are currently fighting and dying for fighting terrorism.Wait what?? I thought you were bitching because his father was from Kenya. WTF does Morocca have to do with this? Grasping at straws now aren't you. If Obama's father was an actual Kenyan citizen, which for everything I have looked at indicated he was a citizen of Kenya. So this is how you transfer this stupidity to Barak? Eventhough Barak is a natural (not naturalized) 100% born a citizen of the United States, and claims to be a Christian, you are still not satisfied with it. Based on all your opinions that are based on conjecture and rumours. You do not have a very informed opinion and this will hurt you in the long run. Wow dude, just frackin wow. So because my Opa fought for Nazi Germany in WWII, I should not run for office?? You realize this does not make any sense. Your logic is pretty flawed. And this is why you are dangerous when you speak. You do more harm by making ASSUMTIONS (You know assume?? We may have to revisit that Benny Hill skit of, when you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME.) Unlike you I am not afraid of the Muslims. I am not even really worried about Christians, or Catholics, or hell, even Jews. But since my Opa fought for Nazi Germany, I am sure you can make up some tripe about me being an anti-semit or some other form of bullshit. http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Hussein My first name is Christopher. go look into that. Do your worst Leafless, because that is the best you will ever do. What about those who are named Peter? David? or any other name in the Bible? Any stigmatism you can attach to those names? Or are they just good wholesome Christain names that have no double meaning at all? Edit le. Good thing I never supported the war in Iraq. The insult is keeping them there and dying for a war/cause that has proven the origional 'evidence' as completely false and highly politicaly driven. So, to me, it is more of an insult to keep them there, and have more of those brave men and women dying for a lost cause. -

GostHacked replied to blkowl's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I like using cash. No fees, if I have it on me, I don't have to worry about interest rates on a credit card. I also do not have to worry about stupid ATM 'conveinience fees' that end up to be 3 dollars by the time I am done my purchase. Most places do not use the same bank so, these charges are there. I also do not have to pay a 'monthly fee' on my debit card in order to have the convenience of being able to use the card up to 10 times a month without worrying about a charge. The credit card and debit card vehicles are nicke'ing and dime'ing us all to death. I no longer have a credit card, for it was hard to keep under control. They are so easy to abuse and so hard to get back under control. Take that worry and fuss out of the equation, and the money related stress will soon go away. Not all people abuse their credit cards/debit cards/credit lines ect ect). -

Oh FFS Leafless. Quebec has shown their political agenda for decades. Or have you been asleep, or too focused on Obama to even think or look into it. I know wikipedia.org is not a fave site among many of you, however, it can shed some light on Obama. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obama Born in Honalulu (U.S.) Harvard graduate Long time lawyer. Seems like his religion is listed as CHRISTIAN. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,300135,00.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...ml?hpid=topnews So this thread can die now. Leafless No one knows for certain. So anything you suposedly have on Obama is all not for certain. How about we focus on things that are certain, instead of making guesses and wild accusations. You are only hurting yourself and making yourself look like Chicken Little. He is black... and well, looks black to me. There is only one point I think you might be able to get Obama on is the citizenship. If he poses citizenship in any other country other than the US, he should not be allowed to run for president. I think this is the reason Ahnuld The Guvenatah, cannot run for President. If as a child, Obama was naturalized as a US citizen, then I am still not sure. This is the only technicality I can see that might have an issue, and I agree with you on that one. But he is black, and seems to be proud to be black. Just like he might be proud to be human, or an American. I am proud to be white, and I am proud of my german background. What does that make me?? You might twist things if I run for President and call me a Nazi, for my Grandfather had fought for Nazi Germany back in WWII. So how do you view me after knowing all that?? Once a Nazi always a Nazi? Even by your logic since he was, my dad is automatically a Nazi, and I am one too?? How does this make sense to you or anyone? Once a Muslim always a Muslim? I will call this utter tripe. The powers that be sure know how to divide us and conquere us. I will call it now as I have called it. If the next President is a Dem it will be Hillary, if it is a Rep, it will be McCain. Althought I would like Edwards/Kucinich (dem) or Ron Paul (rep) in the whitehouse. -
I doubt it is a democracy at all. The Taleban was oppressive and Sharia Law can be seen as the major factor in why the Taleban was so oppressive. The war on terror was to free these people from the Taleban and oppression. Hard to see how victory was achieved when Sharia Law is still in place and governs how they rule. Religion should be taken out of laws, I do not beleive Religion can be rational enough to make the rule of law effective. On top of this, it seems like the Canadian Gov wont hand over detainees due to the fear they are going to be tortured. How is this a win for us ? For them? How does that eventually make us here in the west more secure??
-
The mission is already a failure in Afghanistan. The taliban was removed, and they had a law system based on Sharia Law .... and after we have liberated them, they still chose to have a law system bases on Sharia Law .... is this a win for the west in making it more secure???? I just do not see how.

Minority fantasies??? Woaaaaah there Leafless, You seem to be the one going on and on about the guy being black, and muslim ..... who is hallucinating?? Also, maybe Obama has the political clout eventhough he is fairly new to the political arena, this should not discount or discredit him at all.
