  1. Only if you understand the difference between socialism and communism. Other than that, you are a little plastic doll with freaky hair.
  2. Since the feotus cannot speak for themselves, might be because they are not aware of their existence, pro choice does not assume the feotus has no rights. The Pro Choice argument is to give everyone a choice. It depends on the choice they make. I am not about to take that choice away from any woman out there. Again, with the advice of her doctor/family, she will be able to make the decision that is right for her. My morals do not come into play on this at all, unless it is involving me and my spouse in terms of what we want to do (to abort or not to abort) then together we will make a decision with the advice of our doctor. It is about the choice. Your choice, not mine or my views, or my morals. Religion does not play a role in my life .... but this does not equate to me having no morals. If you can prove a human has a soul, let alone an unborn feotus, then I will consider the evidence. Is it really any of your business anyways? Again, show me the evidence. I already stated that late term abortions are illegal in the US and Canada, however there are unique cases where this could be allowed. I guess what it boils down to in this case, is the choice. Palin chose to have the baby. Society does not need to make all the decisions. Some are best left up to the individual. We don't need more doctrines. We need more doctors. Pro-lifers cannot seem to understand the Pro-Choice stance. I may not approve of abortion ect, but it is not my choice/decision to make when it comes to another's health. I would rather leave that choice up to the inviduals involved. If you abort... your choice. If you don't abort.... again your choice. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. It is your choice, and I will not take that away from you.
  3. The fact he went on someone else's show (regardless of prior commitments to Letterman . if you like we can talk about his commitment to marriage.. the second one that is) on the day he told Letterman he was going to Washington and instead had other televised interviews on that day. Letterman is a big personality and has a very large audience. The exposure you get on Letterman is amazing. But maybe McCain did not want to be caught off guard. Letterman is a smart guy. So it really is not a left-right thing there. It is just a stupid thing. He stopped his campaign. He did not go on Letterman Next day went to Washington to help with the bail out. Now, eventhough the congress/senate/everyone cannot support the proposed plan, McCain now says he will be at the debate. So not after two days of no more campaigning (he never stopped actually) he is going to the debate knowing there is no solution on this bail out package at this time. It may not even be solved tomorrow, but McCain will be at the debates. Anyone on the left or right should be able to see this as one of the dumbest moves ever. Sure, Barak may not be the better choice, but Obama went to Washington as well for the talks. But he did not need to suspend his campaign. He is one of those multitaskers. Something you want in a Pres and VP.
  4. Many manufacturing jobs have been shipped overseas. Most of your electronics come from Asia. Most of your clothing comes from Asia. IF you find something that says MADE IN THE USA, buy it, then you will be keeping that wealth in the US, however it will be fairly expensive compared to that same item comming from China. That national debt tells me they are poorer than 10 years ago. If my personal debt doubles in the next year, I will surely not be more richer. But, define the wealth and richness, then we can debate this more.
  5. And then But then .. Finland is not in the West. Flip floppin are ya?? You even countered your own argument .... awesome. Expect to get ripped on it in the future as well.
  6. I recall a billboard on my way to work that is no longer there. It was for Greyhound. "There is a reason you have never heard of 'Bus Rage'" .. untill now. M Dancer Indeed it was part of the problem, and part of the solution. Create some turmoil in the country in order to scare the people to support your bold new vision. And, I will even call bull on the , USA did it here. Finland has been around much much longer than the US. By proximity, Finland would be more influenced by Russia shootemup movies. Finland got independance from Russia in 1917 but had been autonomous since 1806. There are plenty of foriegn films that are quite violent. Keng Four dead in Ohio. The media reacted to that like a firestorm. Kent State where war protesters were shot. So the media reaction is basicly the same in proportion to the types of media available then and now. But Columbine was different in the how it happened. It was students doing the shooting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_school-related_attacks Gang violence itself has been around long before the US was even a country. If anything the Italians perfected gang violence (mafia). The Russians are pretty good at it too. China, ect ect. It is just that since the US is a melting pot so to speak, you get to see all the gangs from around the world. That's the American way. American Woman has a good point with the gun/per capita ratio. Since by per capita Finland has the most guns, but because of how big the population of the US is, you will by the numbers, see more violence in the US. And well, the ratio of these kinds of shootings (if you are talking grade, high school shootings) it will still be lower in Finland. This shooting was at an adult school. So, not kids shooting each other up here. Adults. but they were at school. Political Citizen That is one rape scene I wish I could unsee. That movie was designed in such a way that it really makes you feel uncomfortale with a lot of shit. Scarred indeed. Me and 5 pals watched that movie one night together. We all agreed it was an incredible movie. Keng I say it is instinct we are violent. We learn and are raised as such and in such a way that we are tempered to not be violent. Conditioned if you will. There is also something called morality which prevents almost everyone from pulling the trigger. Violent movies, and violent pc games are a simple release of that repressed instinct. We take it in visually and it does releave some stress of your daily life. I think I am gonna fire up TeamFortress2. Cart will NOT push self.
  7. So much for suspending it It was purely a political move and not a move of a true leader.
  8. We are always borrowing more money. Where does this money come from? Countries are so indebted to each other because of Globalization and interconnections on all levels between countries. We owe the US, the US owes Canada ect ect. Asia owns much of the US debt right now. It kind of reminds me of a girl I used to know. She had 3 credit cards she rotated her debt on, pay one off with the other. But she does not get any further ahead because she is constantly shuffling the debt. She will never get out of debt this way. If she ever misses a payment, you now have interest applied. Translate that up to the federal level and the amount of money constantly being shuffled and transfered increases dramaticaly. Ecomomics is not my strong point, but the more I look into it, the more it just does not make sense to me?
  9. McCain got there just in time to see a bailout plan happen. You think that McCain and Obama were really needed for this? There was going to be a decision made on it either way. And it was going to be fast. But OMG http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/25/cam...wrap/index.html Crisis over, back to the debates!!! Looks like Obama did not need to suspend anything to be in Washington. Niot much of a consolation prize, I admit....
  10. Those general principles are already in place. And you are right, treat every case as unique.
  11. WIP It is because (liberals???) many people love to make others minds up for them, but they won't let someone else make the decision on the same topic. That is hypocritical and dangerous. How can I know what is best for you? Only you and your family along with a doctors advice can make that decision for you. Hell, I thought it WAS the conservatives pushing their religious RIGHT and they often use selective bible quotes. Chuck religion out the door altogether in this argument. Then only ones true morals will be revealed. You do not need religion or the bible to have any sense of morality. It is because I am a Pro-Choice supporter, everything you say here is true. Heaven forbid a woman to make her own decision, even if it means she will die because of it. Again, every case is unique and should be treated as such. You can advise the woman all you want, but it is her decision and that is final. The instant you impose your will on her, then she no longer has a choice. The majority of women will not abort jsut for the hell of it, as you say. It is getting more and more expensive to raise a child. Yes, money is a factor for sure. Taking care of a disabled child is even more costly and even more time consuming. Even if, you try all the birth control you can, but sometimes stuff happens. And it is up to them to make the choice. I would rather put the decision in each woman's hands than rely on the government to make up their mind for them. This is pro choice. My morals are my morals alone. Others do not share the same morals I have, just something we all must accept and live with. I may not support some situations where abortion is wanted, but again, since I am taking the pro-choice stance, it comes down to none of my damn business. Everyone lives their lives differently. Back to the freakin topic AGAIN.... maybe the title should be Palin Derailment Syndrome, by those who support her often try to detract from the main topic to rant on about something else that really does not deserve this much attention. edt edit I am not a doctor. I am no in no way shape or form to offer that kind of advice. I leave it up to those involved to make the best informed decision they can. If that still leads to abortion.. so be it. And the situation where the mother's life is in danger because of the pregnancy is rare, so it should be dealt with on a case by case situation. This is all about the CHOICE. Let me ask you this. Would any of you be here today to complain about this if you were aborted? If you were aborted, would you care? Back to the topic.....
  12. Well, MSM treats it as such. I do admit to watching CNN, Fox, MSNBC. But I also have great websites to visit, just as you do. So guess what, we are both watching the same thing. But I left my rose coloured glasses at home.
  13. You are an idiot if you treat politics as entertainment. The US mimics hollywood entertainment so much to the extent it IS hollywood entertainment. The new movie W comes to mind.
  14. Republicans are in the whitehouse, but the Dems have been the majority in congress/senate for the last few years. If it collapses it is all their faults for not averting it in the first place, and not putting more regulations on how banks lend out money. In the end, the US taxpayer is going to pay for this bail out either way. If there is no bail out, the US taxpayer suffers, if there is a bailout, they still suffer. Where the hell do you think all the money is comming from in order to pay it off?? The left and right are playing all of you for fools.
  15. Awesome, CANADA again. Spectacular. So apoligetic for the status quo. Ho hum. So the whole election is meaningless when you state it like the way you did.
  16. Sure we can, it is the rhealm of a 'new discovery' that we can compare Archemedes to people like Plank, Einstein and Newton. The term EUREKA!!! is common in science, and used by almost all of them. This is not so much the advancement of science, but evil people wanting to bastardize it to their own gain, instead of contributing to something that can benefit all of humanity. Again, evil, people using the science for their own gains, in the ruse of making our lives better. All science starts out nobel. Then it takes a twisted mind to create a weapon out of it ect. Wild Bill... well, take better care of yourself now ... live long enough where we can take a ship and go see Mars, or Pluto.. ect
  17. With the telecommunications we have, cell phones, internet, email, ect ect. One does not need to be IN Washington to make a difference (althought it helps) So MCcain and Obama can multitask with doing a debate, and helping to solve the financial crisis. All of us multitask every day .. why can't the politicians?? Moderateamerican The only thing frivilous about any of this is what useless old and tired rhetoric both parties use during a debate. Junk food for the masses, when we really need the meat and potatoes.
  18. They should never encourage it, but people should support her decision to abort if needed. This is where it becomes HER choice and no one elses. See?? It is great that there are medical advances to allow the chances of the mother's survival to increase if there are going to be complications at birth. This is the progress of science and medicine. But it is still people's views on the subject that will never change no matter what new medical advances are offered. American Woman Because she sacraficed herself so the child can live. To give up your life for someone else is noble, and a worth while sacrafice. The mother is already in the mindset she will not survive the birth. Knowing it might be too late to perform any kind of abortion (3rd trimester abortions are illegal in the US and Canada because of the baby's chances of surviving out of the womb are significant.) She takes the most logical choice. Her death, baby's survival. I agree, and again, this is on a case by case situation. Every situation shuld be treated as unique. Of course you have to weigh in the other options like, is there already a family and other children ect ect. Sharkman She is making that choice. So there is an error in your premise. She knows she is at risk during either late stages of pregnancy or during childbirth. So, most may not understand the sacrafice and will of the mother to make sure the baby lives regardless of her outcome (if there is a risk). But whatever her choice is .. it is her choice... and that is the crux of this whole derailed argument. If she chooses to have the baby regardless of risks, it is her choice. If she chooses to abort because there is much more at stake, then again, her choice. Back to the main topic.
  19. She does not become a martyr for anyone but the child. Never underestimate a mother's will to have the child survive, even if it means the end of her life. She is not fearing anything but the death of the baby. If she can give the child a fighting chance, then she will make the sacrafice. If it comes down to that choice. But like Bush_cheney said .. this is the ultimate in pro choice. I give real props to those people. And we have detracted from the topic once again. Pro Choice is the most logical route to take, when it comes to abortion. Those who do not think it is right, will do what they think is right as long as it does not interfear with others and their beliefs. So this is the choice you make. If you want to abort, then abort, if not, then don't do it. This is all up to the indivual and every case should be treated different. Prolife, by nature of the platform, does not give you the choice.
  20. No I do not recall what TNT was to bring us. But leave it to evil minded people to bastardize good intentions. If chances are not take, there is no room for advancement of anykind. We are, by nature, a very curious animal. Sure there is a risk with every new discovery, but if we do not pursue them, we become stagnant. We have some of the absolute most intelligent scientists from around the world working on this project. And Limitless implications is a wrong word to use, so I will change it to limitless applications if the gravity particle is discovered, once we know for sure it exists, we can use it for something. Space travel comes to mind.
  21. So, you admit you are voting for an image that is all junk food and no meat or potatoes. Gotcha.
  22. Indeed. IN 8 years of Bush, the national debt has run up over a trillion .. in less than one week, the US's national debt had just about doubled. The Feds are taking out a loan on future generations. They are taking a loan out, and your childrens future will be paying for it.
  23. IF this project is able to find that ever elusive gravity particle. This could translate into a form of propulsion. Anti-gravity. Once you know the gravity particles exisiting (this is what the LHC is really for) the implications for this are limitless.
  24. AngusThermo That machine is not targeted at people who are looking for a cutting edge machine. These people are looking for a machine that you described, are looking for something like this. Estheticaly, this machine is very nice. I really love the looks of the tower. Also, wireless is just as good for gaming. Trust me, been doing it for years. However, I have had bad luck with wireless keyboards in general. They last a week or two on me. I can handle a chorded KB which I do now (cheap 25$ Targus KB) but my mouse NEEDS to be wireless. No chord in the way, and no chord to kick out of the way. Awesome. And if people suck at gaming, no matter what equipment they invest in, they will still suck. I will not call this a hybrid computer. I will call his an energy wise PC. There is nothing hybrid about it. Also, I have a Dell laptop from work. Great machine. It is not a gaming laptop, but for the purpose that the PC is meant for, it does it fantasticly well. A couple of my friends run on Dell XPS laptops for gaming. Awesome machines. Topaz Even companies like Dell, HP ect, all of them put in software that is horrible. Bundled software is a killer on these kinds of computers. You really do not need all that garbage on the PC. Put in what you need and that is it. The more useless things running on your PC, the worse it will perform. My PC is about 10 months old now, and it flies pretty good. I have not overclocked it yet, have not had the need to. A good install of Windows XP Pro (will not invest in Vista anytime soon) and some freeware from the net, can not only save you hassles with your PC, it can save you money in the long run. Vista will be replaced next year by Windows 7.
  25. So it is the supporters of Palin that has the Palin Derannged Syndrome? If so, I agree with you.
