  1. If you are about pro-life, then you should have taken all that into consideration. If not, then you are Pro-Choice. Or you have no clue as to where you stand on the issue. Amercian Woman I can forsee, no matter what she answers it will be used against her. But that is the scrutiny she must endure to be VP ... and heck .. it is JUST a VP job... nothing important anyways. We know the Pres does all the work. She just has to sit there and look good. I find her pretty hot, untill she opens her mouth to speak. Then that fantasy gets trashed.
  2. Then you have no say in how they are (or IF they are) brought into this world. Maybe it is the right to a good life. Your inaction will leave this abandoned child in a foster home, without proper funding to make sure the life you wanted to save IS saved. Just because they are born does not Try being a foster child. Instead of being just dead, they are dead inside and a burden on society because people liek you are not willing to step up to the plate and put your money where your mouth is.l You must consider what kind of life that abandoned child will live. You made the decision for someone else to have the child, but you do not want to take repsonsibility for your actions. This is a cop out. No kidding By your stance, it is better to have a lifetime of suffering than not to have lived at all.
  3. Would you be crying like this is if she was writing a pro-mccain book?? Shady If she had said nothing, you would have been none the wiser.
  4. Maybe you would like to let Bush know of that.
  5. So feed your tractor instead of people. Every crop you switch to make fuel from, takes away from the overall land available for food growth. Well, I don't think the Amish have a gobal distrobution and supply chain. I think they grow it for themselves. Well, the Amish do keep to themselves and basicly shun the rest of the world. So chances of them doing big business with the rest of the world is a non starter. There is plenty of food going around this planet. It is not a food problem, but at distrobution problem. I help run an entire warehouse of groceries. No shortage here at all it seems. Look at our grocey stores, plenty of food there as well. How much food gets thrown out on a daily basis because it goes bad. On the warehouse level it is insane. So again, no food shortage, it is all in how it is distrobuted.
  6. And that body within the body came from reproductive organs, both the male and the female. So why do we have so many children in foster homes who cannot find a proper home? And the point is relevant. If you want to bring a life into this world, (most caring responsible adults do) you have to be prepared for a long term commitment. If you say abortion is illegal, and force the mother to have the baby (see again this is not a Pro-Choice,, well maybe imposing your choice on her) then you must be prepared to see to it that the child gets the best care possible. If pro-lifers do not consider the long term care for the abandoned child, then they should not be telling others what to do. Because you made the choice to force the mother to give birth, you must be prepared for the consequences. If you are not ready for it, sit down, shut up, and let people make up their own minds (PRO CHOICE). Maybe it is because the adopters are being selective as well? Maybe the systems is so messed up, the unwanted child is still left unwanted in a foster home. Your tax dollars at work. Imagine how much time and money and suffering we would all save if abortion did not have the stigmatism associated with it. Imagine being that unwanted child left at the foster home. So, where is the Palin Derangement Syndrome now?
  7. I have sat here for 20 minutes trying to think of a response to this. I am almost speachless. ......... and I am a man.
  8. A rocket is one big explosive. When shit happens, it happens on a large scale. That is the price you pay for playing with the big toys. Any country who runs a space program understands that. And once you light the fires, it is balls to the wall or bust. Every NASA shuttle crew understood that. Every single Apollo astronaut understood that. All the Soyuz cosmonauts understood that. All the Chinese astronauts understand that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_March_rocket http://spaceflightnow.com/news/n0705/31sinosat3/ That is not a bad track record. Being an astronaut or being a part of the space program is a high risk career no matter what country you are in. Those people who fly in those things know what the risks are. But they go anyways. Argus. So you blame China for western countries giving money to China?? Shame on the west.
  9. Nah, keep the name, in a few more months you will become obsolete. Unless there is another crisis.
  10. Virtual glasses, if you will. Your glass analogy can be used for so many other feilds of work. I think people take IT for granted and just don't understand computers and IT infrastructure. Being a guy in IT and have been for several years, I'd say you are very wrong about IT. I know this is off topic, so I will just say a short bit on it. There is a problem in how it is perceived. Everything is virtual, and you cannot touch it to judge value. This is how most of us will look at it. We are so dependant on our technology/computers, we can no longer go about our daily lives without it. I am a Systems Admin for a grocery warehouse. When it breaks, our warehouse comes to a grinding halt. Time and money is lost. When it breaks, we are the people to get it running again. People don't complain if things are working fine. And if it is working fine, then those in IT are doing their job. And when it breaks, because it will, we put in some long ass hours. I had a domain controller break the last week. I had to congifure and install a server on the weekend. 12am to 6am. Our network was in bad shape for some time before that Domain Controller went online. While you are sleeping, us in IT are working our asses off. I have been in 4 weekends in a row. I am on call 24/7. Many just do not understand how computers work and how they communicate with each other. OH the one thing that IT has produced is this Internet thing. It takes a lot of people to keep this thing running. It is now so vital to us, nothing gets produced without it.
  11. OMG Layton is pulling a McCain .....
  12. Cite? It is not a cop out, because, it is none of my business. How a lady in Vancouver, or Miami, or even here in Ottawa decides is simply none of my business. It is not something I want to make my business. That is not a fair comparison at all. This sounds like a set up. Only if you are called for Jury Duty will you make a judgement that will matter.
  13. I would say a newborne baby is very aware of his/her existance. First thing they do is find out what they are (am I a boy or a girl?). Why is a newborne aware of the mother? Why does the newborn know and who his mother is. They are sure aware of what breathing is once they leave the womb, they may not understand it all, but they know right away, breathing is vital. I have no clue what fetal rights are, and the only way it will restrict a woman's right to choose, is if people like you want to make up their minds for them. Once I let you know of my opinions of morals, I can see them getting twisted for the sake of argument. So my morals will stay out of this in all cases, unless if affects me or my family. My morals are mine, and mine alone. You have your own, and others have their own morals.
  14. You are asuming I am wishing for something. So they break for a Jewish holiday eventhough there is a crisis at hand? Nice to see they are taking this crisis seriously.
  15. It seems the Amish are doing fine for themselves. The Amish don't seem to want to make big money from their crops. When the money runs out, chances are the Amish now have a huge technological advantage over your gas powered tractors you can no longer afford fuel for. Whatever they grow, feeds the livestock and the horses needed to plow fields. They are quite self sustaining.
  16. In retrospect, they knew the seal on the rocket boosters of the USs shuttle was flawed, yet they launched, then boom. Even something like a piece of foam smacked a tile and that lost one more shuttle. NASA has had it's fair share of failures. So did the USSR. Even countries and organizations trying to launch satelites in space, have things go suddenly wrong. Play with rockets, and if things go wrong, huge shit happens.
  17. Correct that to trillions. 700 billion is really not much. And since the bailout did not happen, the markets are in a downturn in the US, Canada, UK and parts of Asia. Since much of Canada and the USs economies are interconnected, the effects of this downturn in the US does a number on Canada as well. Overall, the DOW is down almost 7%, While the TSX kicked down just over 11%. The ratio of the population to GDP shows that Canada is going to be hurting much more. What kind of holiday is it that they break for?
  18. Might prove that both of them have no clue what they are talking abut.
  19. Riverwind Manned space flight is ALWAYS interesting, no matter who does it. Give it time. They have just really started their space program. It will take time for them to get to that stage. But I think the progress will be much faster. China is rich in western technology (where the hell do you think most of your manufacturing jobs where outsourced too?) It makes sense that China will use that technology to it's advantage. Anyone in their right mind would. There were plenty of people living in poverty in the US and Russia when they both decided to head to space. Both of those can be considered propaganda as well. The big Space Race. But because China has the largest population on earth, by the numbers, there will be more Chinese in poverty. The ratios just might be the same. But I am guessing here. I agree that as a species we need to spend the time and money on things that will benefit us all equally. Countries also spend a lot of money on their militaries as well. Is this a worthwhile endeavour? Sure there are always better things to spend your money on. I saw a clip on the BBC that indicated that they think China is trying to set up the first communist political entity in space. Russia already did that years ago. We should remeber MIR. I don't think that was either Russia or China's goal when they decided to go to space.
  20. There is no cure yet, it has to be administered to be effective. But I agree with you. Let the weak perish. I do think that the bailout would contribute to the same environment they have now. Greed is quite powerful. This bails out those big wigs and not the people who lost their homes due to stupid business practices of those big wigs.
  21. http://money.cnn.com/2008/09/29/news/econo...dex.htm?cnn=yes Yeah, it's all the Dems fault. Both parties are to blame for the current crisis.
  22. And McCain thinks the fundamentals of the ecomony are strong. I guess he is a Democrat as well.
  23. Read the opening post again.
  24. Legalize all drugs. Those who are responsible in their drug use, (and alcohol use) will still function fine in society. If some idiot wants to blow their brains out on coke, heroine or whatever it is, then so be it. Overdose, kill yourself, I don't care. More room for me and my friends. Legalize it all and let the chips fall where they may. Responsible drug users who are contributing to society should not be penalized because some idiot overdosed on any drug. People who have no self control will be the ones that get lost in the gutter. Prositution, when legalized, can be a great thing. Look at Amsterdam for example. The girls all have a health care plan and get regular check ups, it is also considered a worth while profession. When you take that stigmata away from something (like prostitution) by making it legal, and providing the safeguards for the occupation. Not to mention you can tax them !!!! I have had several pals hit Amsterdam, they told me there are no ulgy or out of shape prositutes. Hmm sounds good.
  25. Do you know the difference between Christians and Christianity?? Jews and Judiasm??
