Mmmmmmm no. Just about all- no make that all- the major religions imply that we live in hell here and now, and that our reward comes in an afterlife when all our earthly troubles are replaced by a much better life. In the case of Buddhism, replaced by another shot at a better life next time around.

ah the usual rush to judgement. What time is the execution?

It is just anecdotal, but I find that all levels of social status does just about the same in my freezer. No, I do not have a link.

I don't think Montreal has the offensive guns to carry them. Rangers in the East. They are good enough on offence, defence and goaltending. But you can never count out Detroit. West is tougher. Nashville is well rounded with terrific goalie in Rinne and solid defence. Anaheim- very good. Chicago is always in the mix. And the Kings may find their mojo. Minisota is a wild card that has had stretches of great play. But I'm going to go with St Louis to win it all. If they don't go very deep, Hitchcock is fired.

Let me clear my throat and work up a big ball of who cares what the Catholic Church thinks on a moral issue. They have abrogated any such right with their actions, so their words ring hollow. In Europe? No. Several Euro states have constitutional links between a Christian church and the national govt. UK, Norway and Denmark come to mind immediately. And which country has it enshrined in their foundational documents "founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God" I'll only give you one guess at that one. It is not the US.

Here is a list of US Supreme Court decisions regarding abortion. There are thousands more at lower courts. perhaps tens of thousands. I don't know why Amerikkka hates women so much. http://www.endroe.org/scdecisions.aspx Here is a list of Canadian court decisions on the same topic http://http: nothing to see here.com It probably really chaps your ass to know that abortion on demand also costs $0. -

You don't want to get into a discussion about ease of abortion in the US nationally vs Canada nationally. There are constant, unending court actions active and pending in many US states since Roe vs Wade. Every action regarding womens reproductive rights must be approved by Jesus, after all. In Canada...... not even close. I like how you conflate the closure of single clinic in NB to a national crisis. Well played. Not. Wow. That might hit double digits before this crisis is solved in NB. -
I'm not sure why you'd expect us to escape our own biology.

Prominent Russian Opposition Figure Boris Nemtsov Shot Dead
overthere replied to Shady's topic in The Rest of the World
The independent investigator appointed by President Putin(also coincidentally named Vladimir Putin) has already said he thinks it was likely Nemtsovs own people that were the dastardly perpetrators. -
The 'team rules' are a bit of a red herring, tossed to for effect to the media.. It was clear that Kane had crossed a line in the relationship with his team mates. Clear to me anyway, in the way they spoke of him when asked by the media . They never condemn him outright as a cancer, but there is no doubt the tracksuit dowsing was just the end game, not the beginning. When star players have a sour relationship with a coach, most often the coach goes because he is easier to replace. When the soured relationship is with the rest of the team.....

There is nothing unprofessional about players getting the most money they can possibly get in what can be a short career with an abrupt end. The average NHL career is 5.5 years and very few hockey players overall play a single game in the show. So, it is actually the very definition of professional to seek the most money for your services, and put yourself first. Pro players are usually very reluctant to criticize their colleagues when they hold out for more money or seek free agency to cash in on a big contract elsewhere. Every player puts himself ahead of the team, and rightfully so. Given a choice, players will play where their families are happy, or all things being equal where they can win championships. Of course, winning championships also gets.... more money.

They'd be astonished at: how many people live in cities and how wealthy and well fed so many people are now. The middle class was very small back in the day.

22 posts before Harper gets blamed. That may be a record here. -
Interesting how this discussion has gone from the (legal) actions of one woman in wishing to wear a scarf on her face to a full blown condemnation of a religion. The bigots always reveal themselves. In related logic, the Pope must be and is a pedophile. No wait, all Catholics are pedophiles. That's better.

I am certain that Putin already has a fall guy lined up and ready to be shot for killing Nemtsov. It was Putin who did it of course, but his investigation is(according to reports today) leading him to believe that Nemtsovs own allies wanted him out of the way. An internal power struggle. How convenient. -
This 'conveneince' has nothing to do with Canadian citizenship. It is a helpful dodge by the Egyptian govt to render Fahmy a non-Egyptian and make it possible to deport him to the only place he has citizenship. Canada. They cannot render anybody stateless.
-
Unlikely. Australian politicians including their PM and including Abbott have a long, long history of blubbering publicly whenever one of their citizens end up in a foreign jail, particularly in SE Asia where it is common. Schapelle Corby for example and many others. Oz has a Daily Mail style shrieking tabloid press and they must be fed. There is no evidence that the PM appeals have any impact on foreign govts or courts..
-
Canadian citizens in Egypt are Canadian. Fahmy is entitled to exactly the same support and assistance as somebody born and raised in Dogsack, Manitoba.
-
He is a Canadian citizen seeking consular assistance. And received it. It is entirely legal and common to have dual or multiple citizenship in Canada. Tom Mulcair and Stepahn Dion are both dual citizens. But they are white, which -let's face it- is the problem for some with Citizen Fahmy who is brown. If he was in a Canadian jail and sought assistance from the Egyptian govt, he'd have gotten help from them. There is no conunumdrum.
-
His dual citizenship is not relevant to the Canadian govt, he has exactly the same rights and responsiibilities as any other Canadian.

Even better is that Putin has now offered to personally lead the investigation into the murder. This guy has balls of infinite size. -
Yep, a random encounter between sperm and egg and you get to whine your whole life thereafter.

You do know that blaming everything in life on Harper is a sign of -at very best- a lack of perspective? That was a pretty quick edit by you, speaking of personal attacks.
