  1. jacee, your posts are starting to border on psychosis and obsession.
  2. There we go, another character who thinks that there are different degrees of equality. He is a citizen and has every single right that any citizen of Canada enjoys. Yes he is brown and has a non-Anglo name but he carries the same passport I do. And that includes consular support, which he has been getting. We are not responsible for his actions, if indeed he did anything, but he absolutely should get whatever help any Canadian in this situation should get. The case is bogged in a horrific bog of Egyptian political strife.
  3. a. she cannot help herself b. she cannot imagine a world in which a person who votes Con could also support feminist issues. c. both of the above
  4. You seriously think Fury is on a par with the wonderful Das Boot? Really?
  5. are there any stats on how badly the BC bud industry was damaged by the legalization of weed in their primary market- the Western USA? At one time it was multi billion industry.
  6. damaged goods for damaged goods.
  7. This one: yes. UFAs are established players or they are not still playing.
  8. Thanks for sharing Hydraboss. I know of other situations where arrangements have been quietly made. It was not a question of legality since the arrangements were technically criminal, but simple humanity and compassion.
  9. Health is an issue for nearly every team at some point. The Jays don't have the depth that the big boys have or can purchase. Goins started last year, but hit so poorly they kind of gave up on him for a while. I still don't see Kawasaki as an everyday anything. Great team guy, Let's hope Pompey or Carrera or Millar can step up in the outfield but ... it is getting late to be wishing and hoping.
  10. clearly these are all failed states.
  11. Not just hit, but Navarro is an OK catcher too. Not great, but decent. Martin is a big upgrade at catcher and a good hitter too. I say keep Navarro, because catching is the one position where you just cannot grind through 162 games with one player. It is just too hard on the body. Thole is not a hitter, or has not shown much so far. It is kind of an expensive conceit to keep him around just to catch for Dickey once every five days. Navarro could be DH some days, though he does not have big power numbers. DH might be a weakness for the Jays. They'll play EE a lot at first base to keep his bat n every game. Who else is there with Lind gone? Valencia and Smoak are not worldbeaters. The jays also need to solidify second base. Iszturis is back, can he stay healthy and produce?. Goins looks amazing on the field, but has failed to hit so far.
  12. I am not complaining at all about them. I appreciate fashion as much as the next guy. J-Lo is a testament to what can be achieved or rather maintained when you spend all your time and a whack of money grooming yourself. She is 46.
  13. Agreed. They should keep Navarro anyway, he is a much better bat than Thole by far. He wants to be traded though, so he can be a starter.. This is the second time Russell Martin has taken his starting job. Is it just me but was Navarro the primo clutch hitter for the Jays last year? He really has a knack for those cheesy dink singles when they are needed.
  14. Really? Like where? Many Canadian cities get their water from a river/lake. The river/lake is the low point in the system and water is pumped up to a reservoir for treatment as potable water. The potabe water is pumped under pressure to homes. Eventually the treated sewage(also pumped through the system into treatment plants) is taken by gravity back to the river.
  15. wow that is a blow. He was never going to replace Cabrera but was a big part of a new outfield.
  16. Ummm they wouldn't call it assisted suicide for you, it would be a mercy killing. Those hallucinations.......
  17. We did put them in a place long ago. It was called a 'reserve'. It has not worked out well. Was there another place you wanted to put them? It's a big country.
  18. No, it does not. The primary purpose of the Wahabi madrassas in poor countries is to capture young men early and indoctrinate them . There are often no other options for children, the public system is grim or too expensive. Only the Koran is taught at amny madrassas. You cannot have a school like that in Canada for school age children. Schools have to teach the provincial curriculum, and not 8 hours straight of exclusively mumbling the Koran. I refuse to share your fear or paranoia. I don't care if somebody send money to a church. Is the Vatican included in your fear?
  19. I'd be keeping the faith if he was a third round pick. He was the #1 overall, and has given no indication so far that he will ever play at the level of nearly all #1 overall picks. Bust. But he has not had what he so obviously needs, which is to go to Hockey 101 and learn the pro game. He should have been sent to the AHL as soon as it was possible, which was the beginning of his second season, the start of outright horrific play. I don't hate the kid, but I detest the complete waste of an opportunity. You are dreaming if you think Yakupov would get anything anywhere near what would normally be gotten for a #1 overall. As of now, they might get a 3rd rounder. Or a prospect. Or maybe you reckon straight up for Nathan McKinnon or Aaron Ekblad? Stop listening to those voices.
  20. Not where I live. When my father was dying of cancer and started to feel pain he was asked if he wanted morphine, and it was explained that it would mean he would become incoherent and perhaps never regain consciousness. He waited until he could not take it anymore, then accepted. Nobody forced a coma on him or on us.
  21. luckily and ironically that may soon be arranged.
  22. No, it is not a "major problem in the West". It is a problem in the actual Muslim sphere of influence, and particularly poorer countries with weak systems of education. The irony is that the religious fundamentalist leaders of the Wahabi sect loathe the Saudi Royal family wand the privileged lives they lead. In return, the Saudi ruling class fear the populism of the Wahabis and fear they will be challenged. But they have negotiated a tradeoff. The Saudis agree to permit the Wahabis to base themselves in the KSA, and to fund the spread of the Wahabi teachings and building of madrassas around the world. In return, the Wahabis agree to not foment dissent within Saudi Arabia, and to domestically teach that the Royal Family has the duty and right to rule. Strange bedfellows in a way.
  23. We have missed a couple of variables present in the water supply in municipalities. One is the loss of pressure because of the friction of the water inside the pipes, which increases as the pipe diameter decreases sequentially on the way to individual house services. This energy is converted to heat, heat in the water. The other is line loss of water and pressure along the way. There is always loss of water volume and pressure along the way because over time there are always leaks.
  24. Is it too early to nominate people for this "Assisted Suicide" option?
  25. I wouldn't put the Mafia in the same league of corruption as FIFA. There is really no need for that kind of gratuitous insult to the diligent hardworking crooks in the Mafia. The most equivalent level of corruption in sport is the grandaddy of international sleaze: the IOC International Olympic Committee.
