  1. Harper has shut down debate 100 times since winning a majority in 2011. In contrast, debate was shut down 150 times from 1971-2000, when every year was a majority except for '72-74 and '79.

Yet, Canada has slipped in most comparative indexes over the last decade. Health, Education, Innovation, Competitiveness, Happiness, Press Freedom, gender equality, child poverty, etc. are all down. 'Keep doing, what you're doing Steve' if you're aiming for eventual 3rd world status.

Because it creates jobs for Canadians. Give Saudi Arabia weapons. Canadians get jobs making instruments of destruction. Saudi Arabia gives those weapons to ISIS. Canadians get jobs policing the Middle East. It's all part of the economic strategy of the Harper Government™.

Andrew Coyne had it right. Conservatives like Shady are just going to repeat the mantra that Harper can do no wrong. Even when he's blowing millions on useless garbage and racking up more debt than any previous governments. Harper has the worst economic record since RB Bennett. Yet, Conservatives like Shady don't live in reality. They don't care about the numbers.

Forget the snapshots, they're almost meaningless. The trend over the last 7 years has been lower net job creation than more than half the OECD. For a party that markets itself on Jobs and Growth, they're not doing much for jobs growth.

I hate Hillary. You're just changing the channel because you can't admit that Trump calling for Hillary to be assassinated is a non-partisan issue. How you two can still support him is beyond me. It shows that you care more about teams, than having any sort of principles.

OK Einstein, please show me where I have ever supported Trump. If you equate pointing out the absurdity of the left's outrageous "Clinton assassination" claim, with "supporting Trump", then you are even more simple than I thought. You're probably the most partisan person on this message board, so to be calling someone else partisan is actually pretty comical.

That's probably correct. I think that has to do with who he had to choose from and who could best fit in each position, in his view. As the Liberals say, they see all of the ministers as equals. They may change the rate of pay for Ministers of State to reflect that.

      Update from CBC:

a senior government source speaking on background told CBC News that what was presented to the public on Wednesday is, in fact, what's real: all 30 are full ministers.

Some of the Treasury Board statutes pertaining to cabinet roles, however, have to be changed to give all these roles full ministerial status and salaries, retroactive to Wednesday.

Full power to the strawman Angus! You keep pushing your strawman, hold it up high for everyone to see, then exclaim, "Behold everyone, the debate is now about what I present to you! Everything else that anyone may bring forward to the debate has no relevance! Therefore, I am right!"
