Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time
Army Guy replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Canada / United States Relations
And yet you and your ilk have not come up with a better solution, your perfectly happy pointing fingers telling everyone else what is wrong with their plan of action....when you sit there with no plan of your own... Tyranny is being fought globally by the US and the coalition of the willing.... ,24/7 and we ( Canada) sit in our chairs with no plan, to assist the US because it hurts your feelings or it all has to Big industry , time for a wake call our entire existence was built around big industry , it has driven our nation for decades and some how your offended, To f***king bad, here is an idea join the communists they love people who can't decide what side of the line they want to support.... And while we have not supported our military, we have also not support much of anything, like a international disaster relief force, or how about flying hospitals to provide free medical treatment around the globe, NOPE we sit on our arse and do nothing except point fingers...Ya we like the attention, we crave other nations to give us a pat on the back....we even invented new words to define our lackluster military performance " like we are punching above our weight" we make up for our lack of defense spending by deploying our military to far away nations...because some accountant has said it was a lot cheaper... 25 %, both of us already know we can not even get past 1.5 percent, reaching 25 5 is a wet dream...nobody is going to support that. and while you can paint me as a cheap prick, atleast i'm realistic. Once again all you can do is point fingers, and do nothing , except chirp, and drink that 2 liter of coke....doing nothing is costing you, your future, get onboard or get the F888 out of the station. -
Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time
Army Guy replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Canada / United States Relations
This mindset is made up of a couple of things, a sense of entitlement, we have lived so long under the American defense umbrella that we now demand the coverage for free, and feel slighted when they ask us to step up and pay for some of our own defense cost, or to pay an equal share in our defense agreements...Twofaced once again we are delighted they are paying for our defense freeing up bils to be spent on luxury policies and tax breaks...but ever chance we get we stab them in the back and making it a national past time that we are proud of...we are cry babies , we want a seat at the grown ups table, but our actions tell the world we are not ready for pants just yet, we will always be at the kids table....G-8 nation or not... You and a good majority of Canadians will be finger pointers your entire life telling everyone what is wrong with this world, and how to correct it. and you'll do that from sitting in front of your computer eating Cheeto's with a 2 liter bottle of coke...all talk no action. And those Canadians that are willing to step up because they are embarrassed and can't sit there and do nothing are quickly deemed to be on far right , and are to be shouted down like dogs. Because paying ones way is not a Canadian value, and should be considered extreme at all costs...we can't pay 2 % o GDP for defense, Can't pay out indigenous claims for land or abuse as children, can't pay for climate change, can't pay out our wounded vets , can't bring home 2 men stuck in China...the list is to long to spell out everything...we are a nation of cant's. Th e US has been forced to take on this role as the worlds policemen, as nobody else has stepped up , forced to use mostly their own tax dollars to maintain a force structure that is capable of doing the job not just within their own borders, but through out the entire world. You and many Canadians may not like it , but here we sit unable or unwilling to either help or come up with another solution. You and those like you are a nothing more than a dead beats, welfare abusers, that drag the rest of the country down to the depths of the left... you sir deserve a round of applause , "stand up take a bow", your the tool of the day... -
Should the Conservative Party become liberals?
Army Guy replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I would think it would matter, it would be a show of support after all, instead we expect a double standard from all politicians , we demand our politicians attend, but those Canadians that have this mind set don't really follow through , meaning the majority of Canadians follow a different path., by saying do as I say do not as I do ....... We do that on most topics....and when you boil it all down, the LGBT2 community message is that they are looking for support, come pout to the parade....unless your a police officer, more to do with the black lives matter group which has hook their wagon on to the parade as well some how. Hence not showing up looks like you do not support them like the majority of Canadians, did I get that right... when really how many Canadians give a crap....live and let live just don't be bugging me with your problems sort of thing....this is what most Canadians believe, but outside when talking to neighbors or others we spout the popular line and smile Gay people ya, I got a friend thats gay we hang out all the time....have you gone to a pride parade ? ahh no... And yet we've bought into this because of what , a massive public awareness campaign by the LGBT community, ok fair enough, to the point one almost gets attack for saying something against party lines, or your immediately deemed a homophobe. ....so why do we buy into this entire thought process instead of I don't know hungry and homeless children in Canada.... instead of worrying about what events they go to, perhaps we should pay closer attention what they are doing about issues that effect the vast majority of Canadians, like climate change...or the issues we are having with china....the list is long … And no I am not by no means say that the LGBT group is not an important issue...but on a scale how big is their issues, that are not already covered by law and legislation for all Canadians. -
Should the Conservative Party become liberals?
Army Guy replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Just a question, why is it a qualification to march in the parade to get LBGT2 support ? , Why is it all other religions get passes on certain things , things except say Christians, or white people , We question is this do I have to support everything that is popular with the voters, what if I did not support same sex marriage or gay rights within my household, but when I got to work like Scheer I could ensure that those rights were protected by our laws and policies...I mean we don't invite Muslims to dinner then serve pork do we, no we accept it is part of their religion and move on...not the same for Mr Scheer though. and then when they do they are called bible thumpers and yet has anyone called the NDP leader a religious freak, because he wears a turban...should we not treat all religions the same.... -
More Critism about Canada from the US and the world...
Army Guy replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No, what I am criticizing is the attempt of 6 or more countries to control what goes on around the world. And I do agree it is interesting to listen to the different perspectives, but what we have here is anyone of those original 6 can shut down those conversations with the power of veto...Often what resolutions that do get made are without meat, or the UN does not have the power to enforce, monitor or regulate all of it's paper resolutions in a timely manner.. As for Rwanda and a great percentage of ever other UN peace keeping mission were failures, in every mandate they had be given, They failed to protect anyone's lives , failed to keep warring parties separated, failed on the political front in bring peace and stability, But I get it one portion should not drag down the entire organization, but while on UN peace keeping missions I have had a chance to work with other UN organizations such as Unicief, UN humanitarian organizations handing out food, and relief supplies, in Yugo they were doing that from Mercedes SUV's , worth about 300 k, staying in posh hotels , selling those humanitarian supplies to the highest bidder, often with a military escort for protection...Rwanda was the same Somalia was the worst , UN officials would coordinate deliveries of relief supplies with the gangs for profit...those people that needed those supplies went without....So I'm not a big fan of the UN because it is corrupt to the core... -
Should the Conservative Party become liberals?
Army Guy replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think had the Alliance and PC not merged both parties would be struggling, regulated to party status similar to the NDP like you said, .. strong out west and weak every where else ..That being said there was a major shift in their platforms once they merged, more to the left, and became even further to the left when Scheer came out with his, clearly set up to chase the lefts vote...and in my opinion to far left for me.. I think they had more problems than being pro life and for some reason the media "really made this a sticking point" we won't mention bias here, but even a liberal could see that... . But also the lack of support from LGBTQ2 community played a small factor as well, if all it took was to walk down the street with some gay parade " I say get on your dancing boots" thats what politicians do, kiss babies, and dance with the gays,.... it's 2019 baby.....along with the new fade of climate change, shit your worse than the anti Christ if your don't believe we are all going to die!!!.....they are stuck because most of their support lies in oil country, and climate change is not a topic for the dinner table in the west...unless they got one of those climate change protestors on the BBQ. I mean all they really had to do was come up with a plan that was better than Justins, how hard could that be....lets tax everyone, they tell them we are going to give it all back and more.. But what really gets me is just how the Canadian public ate that up...that shit is the best tasting shit there is.... I also think that a lot of Canadians were seeking a more conservative party, for a lot of people turned to the PPC, and if the main objective was not to get Justin out of power I think that fringe party would be a lot larger than it is or was...So I agree there is a huge hole in our politics...with everyone sliding to the left, at some point in time we are going to have to stop spending and start cutting...but right now I think a majority of Canadians don't care how much debt we rack up as long as there is a little piece of the pie in it for me thats where the vote lies right now.....or change how our country loans money to itself if that is even possible.. -
Nobody is saying that the entire organization is not worth some time or money but to be honest here, the portions that are poisoned far our weigh the portions that are doing any good. One also has to face reality here, most of the UN is funded by the West so why would it not have more influence, Next is the UN body itself is made up to favor the original members, it's not set up to solve issues but rather have them voted on by 2 sides of a coin western side and communist side for lacking a better name, one side normally veto's the other...instead of have a world body where every nation has one vote that counts the same as the next.. Next it does not have a standing army, or police so it can not enforce any outcome good or bad, other than sanctions and they are not very effective... And yet even with the UN in existence , we have seen Mother Russia annex the Crimean peninsula with very little consequence. So are we at that point today where the UN is no more than a figure head in the grand scheme of things.

More Critism about Canada from the US and the world...
Army Guy replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So North Korea, and a bunch of terrorist have the moral high ground here is that what your saying....and I agree that the US is not always the white knight in all cases, but as long as they are being forced to be worlds policemen thats were my moral compass is parked, unless Canada intends to stand up and make a difference …. how did that work out in Rwanda when Gen Dallaire begged for action.....oh wait our government sat by and watched hundreds of thousands get cut down with machetes .. where was our moral compass that day, we were sitting on it thats where...Canadians like to point fingers, they need to have someone to blame...and yet when we peel back a few layers we are just as bad as everyone else... -

You can point to what ever policy you want, It does not mean that the moral high ground is following north Korea , and the terrorist state of Palestine, the majority of the west is following a different path.. -
Your link full of shit, first off its American poll not Canadian, second 1300 vets were polled out of the what 2,000,000 that served come on now atleast try and be honest here.... The American experience is way different than the Canadian one, no comparison at all ,The majority of Canadians supported the conflict in Afghanistan, but shortly after it became unpopular with tax payers , so much so that governmental support bled off, much needed equipment and supplies started to dry up, NO new equipment that we desperately needed... Most Canadians don't have a clue what we did on their behalf, they don't know what we went through, the frustration we felt when we watch our own news coverage " mind you it was a week old" was depressing to find out we were bleeding over there and our fellow country men did not give a shit.. So how can you call it a waste when you never even gave a shit in the first place...165 Canadians were killed, 2071 wounded, thousands served, because we all thought that it was a worthy cause, Such a worthy cause they made the decision to come back for multiple tours of duty even after most of Canada had forgotten all about them, refusing to support them...…So you don't get to make that call if it was a waste , you were not there, you had no skin in the game . To those that served there I bet most would say your poll is full of shit...

That is part of the issue , the other part is there is a lack of air force personal to maintain current fighter operations a fly and train more pilots … which translate into lack of pilots to be spread around... it all comes down to funding...or the lack off, not to mention flying a 40 plus year old fighter does not have the appeal as say an f-35....and yes cold lake sucks, and is not the most popular place in Canada, but thats the point, want to drop bombs and shit you need someplace to do that , perhaps your right they could base them in Edmonton, fly them to cold lake to drop ordnance and stuff.. but that is only part of the problem....None of which is not going to get fixed until people make it an issue.

Seems to me you have reached an impasse peace is not possible by your side or the Israelis side, until then this conflict will continue , the Palestinians will continue to play the innocent character to the media, while tossing rockets into Israel...and you'll have to live with Israel reactions as they destroy another piece of your nation...and the rest of the world just watches... Peace can only happen when one or more sides declare they have lost enough citizens...not before, it has nothing to do with why you are fighting...Sure the reason why is great for the recruiting adds, and to keep the fight going....but the reason why is never discussed at the peace table, nor does it matter...Peace has a cost and you have not paid it yet.... -
This issue has been brought up many times, and not only by DND, but the Auditor general and the watch dog reported it directly to the Liberal government, And now the media is once again bringing it forward to see if it will get some traction....But hey it's x mas WTF...Ya WTF we can't even hire enough pilots because of some archaic law or governmental policy which restricts the number of pilots we can train in one year....Retarded or what.... and while most of us would just say change the policy, well apparently our government has not thought of that...for some reason....but it's not because they did not know of this issue...and it is not just pilots but maintence workers as well... And while I do hold our government on all sides accountable, for treating these men and women in our Armed forces so badly, The only ones that can change it is the tax payer.... It does not take much effort to write your MP... Soldiers don't want your well wishes or your prayers this year , they want you to stir the pot into some sort of action....They don't want a raise, they want equipment that will save their lives so they can make it back to their love ones...or heres another great idea, Grab your balls and demand they close DND down,...It's not like your interested anyways..... just do something...anything.. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/contractors-to-help-air-force-manage-shortage-of-experienced-pilots-technicians/ar-BBYbJWu?ocid=spartanntp A good portion of the country takes great pride in strangling our military and watching it wither, our Military is this nations insurance policy when things go bad in the world , and when they do it is our sons and daughters that will be pressed into service, as they were in WWI and WWII, it will be to late to complain about how our military is equipped or trained when or if that day comes.... And like the conflicts we have already fought, our unpreparedness will cost undo lives, because we are to stupid to learn by our past mistakes, or is it we are to cheap.. Both I think. It is times like this it is embarrassing to be Canadian ... We will continue burying our sons and daughters because it is cheaper and easier to do...

You don't play cricket do you Jacee ?
-
This is getting way to serious, I was only poking fun at some of your national sports thats all, I by no means are making light of anyone who wave died while playing a game... no game is ever worth anyone dying over....
-
It's not that , I'm getting to old to drink for 5 days straight....besides there is no penalty box in cricket , when you need to take a break...

I, your medal count is impressive, but none of those medals are in hockey are they, the only manly sport in the universe....where men are not afraid to be seen playing it, and women come by the numbers to pick out future husbands...Here is a little fun fact for ya, I googled your Iceni warrior as I was curious and this is what I found....it said during the dig they found ancient Ice skates...maybe there is hope for you and your kin after all, maybe deep down in you there is a hockey player waiting to come out....So put those crazy cricket bats and balls away, time to get you a hockey stick, and a jersey...but i'll warn you now, once you pick that stick up and don your hockey jersey... your balls grow three times the size, you feel like your 8 foot tall , and you have an urge to start beating the shit out of everyone you see, it's also a sport you can play and enjoy a good beer while doing it...... it truly is a warriors sport....can you say that about cricket...once you played it, there is no going back to the ladies sports... https://www.ancient-origins.net/news-history-archaeology/human-bones-pot-may-reflect-gruesome-ritual-queen-boudicca-020315

We had to ASK permission because Boeing is a US company and has complete ownership of the tech and all the rights that go with it....as part of the contract we agreed we would seek permission to sell or buy any American made aircraft or tech... As we as a nation do not build military aircraft.. worth mentioning any ways. This is another example why politics should be taken out of purchasing for any government dept, 5 bil for 18 to 24 aircraft is one expensive deal....that and the fact the liberals have been promising to fix our procurement sys since 2015, until they do, we are not buying shit, DND has already returned 8 bil dollars unspent for procurements already.... As for flying trash cans the Aussies have already purchases F-18 E & F models as interim fighters, until all their F-35 are delivered....and yet we are left with purchasing another nations 2 and hand crap .. because we are retarded when it comes to our military.... or more to the point we are to cheap to spend our dollars on things that matter in this country.... All of this is due to our own citizens mind set , with out the peoples support our military will always be the cheapest solution.... -
Field hockey, your joking right, no body contact right ? and they got all their own teeth wtf... Is that even a sport any more ? you can have it, even our women play ice hockey over here … infact our women's team are also multi Olympic champions as well, I suppose your going to tell me next that cricket is a mans sport or that soccer is not a university for actors that specialize in faking sports injuries.... https://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/team-canada/women/olympics

Rugby/ football ,there women's sports, a game for nations that have not figured out how to make ice … Although I've been known to watch some Australian football once in a blue moon or ...For players that can't skate the PPCLI came up with a manly game called broom i loo, played on a snowy field, with broom ball sticks and a ball, only a couple of rules, no biting, and you can't throw your stick as a spear, no punching although this one is not really enforced to much.....observers ring the field, so there is no escape, any one on the field is considered a player, and are subject to game rules, including the medics trying to remove injured players, the game stops only when the time is up....not for anything else, …the PPCLI set aside one full day for this sport known as Regimental day..., first game normally officers against senior NCO's, then Company against Company it can get very bloody, every medic and Ambulances within the BN is also at the game, to triage, and transport the injured to hospital....... not for the weak, but it is a day to solve any issues you have with other members ..it also burns off all that unreleased aggression...Not sure if they still do it... https://www.avenuecalgary.com/city-life/the-story-of-the-broom-i-loo-jersey-on-display-at-the-military-museums/ https://ppcli.com/dt_gallery_category/3-ppcli/

We already have rules that dictate how long you have to be in province before getting a Medicare card, and able to use the provincial health care system....we do this to our own citizens when the move to another province. When I was in the military every time I got posted my family would have to wait a almost a full year to get full coverage, and when I released from the military I had to wait a just over 6 months even though I had lived in the province for 10 years with military coverage...Lets not even talk about getting a family doctor, I waited well over 4 years before I got taken on for a doctor....and I was consider a diabetic at the time which gave me some what a leg up...

Trudeau/Bill Blair . . . . gun control.
Army Guy replied to Nefarious Banana's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And while all this talk could turn into a massive kumbaya session, with everyone hugging and drinking tequila , Man has not evolved to the point where we can not live without violence...the strong will always pray on the weak... we do it to our own people, just think what we are capable of doing to others, even in modern times, like concentration camps found in Yugoslavia during that conflict , like we never learned anything from WWII, or Afghanistan where a bunch of men that skinned an old man of his most of his skin to exposed flesh and muscle then staked him out on the ground to bake in the morning sun, his only crime was giving us directions to the next town..... lots of sick mother truckers out there, and while they will be judged by god after their death, someone has to arrange that meeting...it also completes the yin and yang circle... -

Army Guy replied to Nefarious Banana's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't hate them, and in a strange way I do respect them, Ok I have been known to call them dirty civvies, or tree huggers, but then again there is reality and there is to many men ("humankind" for you liberals out there) that think violence is the only way, and in some way they (dirty civvies, tree huggers) put a little balance in this world. -
Trudeau/Bill Blair . . . . gun control.
Army Guy replied to Nefarious Banana's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The public is always going to be armed in some form or another, be it a hunting rifle or wpns buried in the back yard....besides it does not matter how many rounds your magazine holds or the rate of fire, it was once the basic infantry standard to fire 12 rounds a minute from a bolt action rifle...thats with 3 x 5 round mags reloads , all well aimed shots...its always about the shooter, never about the wpn... I think there are more than just militia groups out there that will be effected by a ban.....they should be in the same group of fire arms owners as , preppers, survivalists, they just want to be prepared for the next event...and they believe it is coming soon most spend a lot of money doing it, it is multi bil industries....with a huge lobby group as well ....the other group would be your collectors, and competitors who do it for a hobby, and then hunters.... they are all made up of many different people from all walks of live from all political spectrums left wing and right wing keep in mind these groups comprise of millions in the states and thousands in Canada, everyone has some sort of interest..to keep fire arms legal. we also have to remember that those days when this country was being built wpns were a way of life, you needed one to survive most were armed for some form of reason, lots of bad guys and lots of wild nature as well, lack of police or law enforcement ...today I think it comes down to being prepared, and if your not into that so be it, but should we restrict fire arms No I don't think so.... ...like an insurance policy...I Personal don't own a hand gun or an assault wpn, but the rifles I do have are accurate out to past 400 meters, don't get we wrong if I could afford one, I would get one. but in this point in my life, I'm not going to be doing that many section attacks against a dug in enemy... every year Drinking and driving have killed more people than fire arms has in Canada , at one time 4 people a day, for every day of the year...but we don't ban booze...it's only a tool, it's the tool using it that is dangerous.... https://madd.ca/pages/impaired-driving/overview/statistics/
