Maybe joly should spend some time doing a little research on the topic , before she puffs up her chest and spouts garbage....But this is what we will see from liberals, they are not interested in receiving help from the conservatives....Only the liberals can fix this....i wish that were true...but the clock is ticking and so far we have nothing....liberals must be wondering now, were they duped or did they waste their votes...His support for his constituents is why he is going to the US in the first place... Based on recent reports, Jamil Jivani, a Canadian Conservative MP, has expressed strong support for auto workers in Oshawa and across Canada amid rising economic uncertainty caused by trade issues and potential tariffs. Key points regarding Jivani's position and commentary on auto workers include: Support for Local Workers: Jivani has highlighted the impact of international trade issues on Canadian families and has welcomed actions from local organizations, such as museums offering free admission to GM employees, to show support for the local auto community. Emphasis on Trade Stability: He has stressed that the CUSMA (Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement) is critical for his constituents and Canadian workers, calling for all parties to work together to secure the trade deal. Opposition to Outsourcing/Over-reliance on Foreign Markets: Jivani has criticized focusing on political "virtue signaling" and instead focused on the need to protect Canadian jobs, rather than relying on external, foreign-based economic solutions. Support for Local Industry: He has aligned himself with the need to protect the Canadian auto sector during turbulent times in the manufacturing industry.

I'd like to see a source on that claim that Canada has the tech to develop it's own nuclear weapons....First off we would need to get the permission from those already in the nuclear weapons club....And why would the US agree to all of that, shit we can't even agree on dairy products...and if Canada just up and did it with out any permissions, then where would they hide such a facility...or should i say several facilities....which nation Canada going to launch missiles against...That would have the resources to attack Canada....think about this for just a second....those with the resources to do so, have thousands of missiles....nuking one of their cities would mean Canada would be nothing more than a waste land.... first off we do not even have a weapons grade enrichment facility, those facilities are in those countries that already have Nuclear weapons, so there bils upon bils spent to enrich the uranium...we might be able to create a bomb or missile, in due time....then there is the question where do you test this device...., how do you deliver it....Ask how much Iran has spent into developing their nuclear program....we don't have the that kind of money...you can't build these in your basement... Now we want to put on big boy pants all of a sudden...what happened to the last 30 years, when the world was asking for us to step up and take a role in global affairs...what ever happen to the famous quote WHO IS GOING TO ATTACK US....we can barely mange to afford having 3 brigades of ground troops, which is peanuts , it's actually embarrassing, considering at the end of WWII we had 2 entire Corps...So i agree with you we should become a harder power, and grow our conventional army first....leave the Nukes to the big boys....because one they start using them it does not matter who fires them, the world will cease to exist as we know it...

Well, i'm sure he could not do any worse than Carney has done so far....and when he comes back with news from Washington, my bet is the liberals will not act upon any of it......which is their choice to make....it will be all conservative rhetoric. But it will show us that the liberals are not really interested in any conservative help....

One could also ask if they are so effective why does not everyone have them ? I'd say those that already have them restrict most other nations from achieving that level of tech to have nukes in the first place, Iran is a example of that...Iraq another. And while we did at one time have nuclear tip nikey missiles Canadians did not like them here in Canada and they were eventually given back to the US... I did not say having nuclear weapons is not a deterrent...what i asked is Do you really think anyone in the Nuclear weapons club is just going to had over all the tech to build nuclear weapons, or even sell us ready made missiles.... Who would be willing to do that ?....I also asked what does having these weapons really give us....More power on the world stage ? do they give us the sovereignty we are looking for ? If your versed on nuclear weapons then you know it will cost more than just what your spending on a conventional military now... I think you should recheck your history of Israel...So while have hundreds of nuclear missiles does give you a high level of protection, it does not guarantee that your nation will not be attacked...those nations with thousands of missiles have a hall pass as everyone knows it will end in MAD. having just a few hundred as Israel has does not guarantee anything... Yes, Israel has been attacked by conventional forces multiple times while possessing a, largely unacknowledged, nuclear arsenal (typically believed to have been achieved between the late 1960s and early 1970s). The most notable example is the Yom Kippur War in 1973, when a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack on Israel. Key instances and contexts include: 1973 Yom Kippur War: A massive conventional attack by Egypt and Syria. Reports suggest Israel considered a "nuclear option" or a display of force during the war to deter further advances. 1991 Gulf War: Iraq fired 39 Scud missiles into Israel during the First Gulf War. Israel did not retaliate with conventional or unconventional forces, largely due to U.S. pressure. Ongoing Conflict with Iran (2024–2025): Iran and its proxies (Hezbollah, Hamas) have frequently launched missiles and drones at Israel, with notable direct exchanges in 2024 and 2025 involving hundreds of projectiles. Hamas Attack (Oct 7, 2023): Hamas militants attacked Israel, and rockets have reportedly hit near military sites thought to hold nuclear-capable missiles. Key Points Regarding Israel's Nuclear Posture: "Nuclear Ambiguity": Israel maintains a policy of not officially confirming or denying the possession of nuclear weapons. The Samson Option: This refers to the strategic doctrine that if Israel’s existence is threatened, it might use its nuclear arsenal as a last resort. Conventional Deterrence: Despite having nuclear capability, Israel relies primarily on conventional forces and missile defense systems (like the Iron Dome and Arrow) to defeat attacks. Canada would need to build hundreds of these missiles, to be any kind of threat to any of the major players...one does not have MAD with a few dozens nuclear missiles... I think you need to look at some of the cost relating to just building these weapons, then maintaining them, and then securing them....then there is investing in things like the Iron dome , or golden dome as trump calls its to protect your launch sites from being destroyed in a surprise attack....Canada has a major issue with footing the bill for 100 K troops.... And what purpose would they have ? what would they add to the grand scheme of things ?....the world will be destroyed 100 times over, what will Canada missiles contribute to all of that....Nothing....if it gets to the use of nuclear weapons then all is lost....diplomacy has failed, conventional war had failed, all is left is the destruction of man kind...

Are Alberta Separatists Committing Treason?
Army Guy replied to TreeBeard's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Thanks capt obvious, Most of Canada is on treaty land, but it has not stopped any separation group from trying to separate.... .....Just a question, if Alberta becomes the 51 st state do you really think the US will honor those treaties....Or better yet do you think Alberta will honor those treaties...and who is going to enforce any of it.... Your under the assumption that what ever is left of Canada because (i think once one leaves it will start to snow ball) will enforce Indian rights that the British signed with them and Ottawa said it would uphold...Or maybe the US or Alberta signs new treaties...But i don't think it is going to stop any separation from happening....Indigenous people never have had full control on any of their lands.... -
I agree with him, and I'm sure he has not had a valid military thought in his life, and I'm sure this very thought has come out of the our Military....I don't think Canada has the budget or know how to operate Nuks, not sure the Nuclear club will allow another member....pretty sure the US would Veto that anyways....one thing the world does not need any more of, is another nation holding nukes....What does it give us really, power, sovereignty, freedom for attack...Israel has had nukes and is still attacked, you'd need more than one to make a difference... dozens at the very least....and then what we maintain them, spend bils upgrading them...only to dismantle them in the end... The world has enough nuks to kill it thousands of times over....you don't even need to be hit with one , just wait for the fall out to settle that's traveling around on the trade winds, to kill every last Canadian....Radiation poisoning is a horrible way to die BTW...will it make you feel better knowing we had a role killing bils....not going to change anything...

You do know that prices are not controlled by the fed and provinces alone right....They don't control world events , or manufacturers taken advantage of the void, let alone all the other factors....But sure the feds lower their 17 cent consumer taxes and over 4 or 5 months the price has risen to where it was before.... That still does not change the feds/ provinces are responsible for a large portion of those prices in the way of taxes...

Jamil Jivani is heading to the US to help to help with stalled trade talks , He is going to use his personal relationship with JD Vance to get things started once again....And while this has been blessed by Pierre, He does not say if it is blessed by Carny....I know the liberals are going to hate on this move....but right now there is no movement on the issue, Carney continues to put his foot in his mouth by making fun of Trump....or at least that is how trump perceives it....He is not going down there to solve the trade talk issue, he is going down to restart the talks get some conversations going once again.....This fits in with what came out of the convention to be more cooperative with getting things done in Parliament, and while they disagree with the new food allowance they are voting to approve it....We will have to wait and see what happens with all of this , will the liberal accept this help or freeze him out...It will show us where the liberals stand....for the party or the country...

That's not how the government as been accounting, or for that matter been set up to account for anything related to finances.... the government is not a business if it was we would have been bankrupt centuries ago... PBO office has been very critical about Carneys handling of our finances, in fact putting some very big warnings out .. I have to ask why all of a sudden is this liberal dogma....we went through 11 plus years where they did the very opposite of what your suggesting...was Carney not advising Justin...why the sudden change....Did they discover a lost scroll or something ?

Carney does not have that much pull to give the states more winter...in fact he has very little pull at all...so the answer to your question is NO it's not carneys fault... -
Because he eats liberals form breakfast, lunch and supper....The liberal propaganda machine is hard at work...which kudo's to the liberals it is one thing they are good at...

That's because all the Carbon tax has not been removed, the FEDERAL consumer portion was removed, not sure if the provincial taxes were removed in BC/ Quebec...that being said the industrial carbon tax remains, along with a long list of federal/ provincial taxes, which add a large chunk of the price of fuels...All of which add to the price of everything...

Respect..is a two way deal....it is earned for the most part, I served for 34 years in the worlds worse shit holes....i watched my comrades in arms have to beg our nation once they returned to give them any treatment to make them whole again....thousands are still homeless, thousand more can't get treatment, or have to wait years to see mental health or physical health care professionals...And it is still going on today, let me ask you does your work or your home have drinkable water, or working toilets, built in the 50's....In CFB Petawawa, there is infra structure there that was built in WWI....that is used to store vehicles in........is the equipment you worked on older than you are, most of our vehicles are not fit for the highways, when i retired we have to stay off public roads because some vehicles were un road worthy....and use the training area roads does all of that sound like respect....or a nation that cares... I have lost my respect for this nation a long time ago, I served because of the men and women on the left and right of me, and i would do anything for them then and now.......not because of some long lost patriotic duty to Canada...but because they are my brothers and sisters...I've been spit on at Canadian airports, there was a period of time we could not even wear our uniforms out in public because it would spark outrage...had to bring our uniforms in to work on hangers change at work, and reverse all of it going home...that happen to me in Edmonton...Lots of respect....and while it did get better, once we were in combat, the only time we got equipment upgrades was when enough soldiers had died....and it happened alot....then getting home, soldiers were committing suicide in huge numbers, and still they could not figure out why, and when they did figure it out , you had to wait years for treatment....deaths from suicide out number soldiers killed in Afghanistan by 5 or 6 to one...Vets are still committing suicide at much smaller numbers but it is still happening, does that sound like respect to you... That being said i escorted my best friend back to Canada, he was killed in some shitty part of Afghanistan by an IED...we landed in Trenton and took the highway of hero's to the his home town funeral home...and on every bridge there stood Canadians maybe 10 or 20, at each over pass, some off the fire stations had come out and hung the Canadian flag up high on their ladder trucks... for all to see...I respect that....6 days later i was back in combat with my unit...i respect that... I would do it all over again, not for my nation but for the thousands of people who also served...i's not sure you can find better Canadians than those people.... SO yes i'm sure there is a lot of Canadians that don't have respect for the nation, separatist have groups in almost every province it should be a huge red flag....and for many different reason as well...Canada is not united, it has dozens of groups who like or dislike other Canadians....i mean just look at our intra provincial trade everyone is out for themselves...not the nation as a whole....to the tune of over 210 bil dollars worth of waste and greed...and it is not a priority to fix that.... -

My example was that liberal voters excepted Justin as their leader, and like the separatist he knew nothing of economics and he was elected 3 times....I don't really think none of the separatist movements have look at what it would cost to leave or they would not be leaving the current marriage....which seems to be one of convivence instead of love of country... Look at what Quebec demanded on their last attempt... i mean it is spelled out in the feds policies, what has to be discussed and what is their right to have... like borders , currency, portion of debt, military equipment, federal infrastructure, Etc Etc...nothing is a given.... I think the US will make them a very attractive offer, and sweeten it until they can't say no or in their attempt to be their own nation go bankrupt... Lots of those in Canada , almost every province has a separation movement of some sort...grass is always greener on the other side. None, he is a professional politician...he has held many different MP positions Can't tell me he has not learned a thing or two... -

It must have i mean liberal voters did elect a drama teacher 3 times, and seemed to swallow the budget will balance itself...So ya not much of a leap to believe its a social science... -

Like we haven't done that before....We elected a drama teacher, who said the books will balance themselves 3 times.......his father was a law professor, in fact lots of lawyers have become PM.....not many economists though....with exception of Harper/ Carney i think the others just made it up on the fly.... -
You could count on one hand how many conflicts the UN stopped, or even controlled since its inception........with a positive outcome...There are over 130 active conflicts on the globe right now....which ones are the UN involved with... Being a Canadian soldier with a few UN peacekeeping tours, I've seen first hand the UNs response to conflicts i seen first hand how unprepared they are to confront a determined enemy...like in Rwanda, former Yugoslavia, were they did nothing to stop war crimes, or intercede in combat....It is a failed institution with no teeth to enforce anything...and should keep to what it knows best which i don't even know what that is...

This is why Canada is doomed to failure.....you head is so far up your A$$ you can't see the problem...Canada is a house of cards and remove one and the whole nation will collapse...As long as you are getting yours you don't care.... I sacrificed a lot of this country, it has given me everything i have right now....and i would hate top have all of that thrown away because yours and many people in BC that seem to hate Alberta, Those uppity bunch of rich losers...who some how out produce BC, not hard to do, since the people of BC have allowed it's own people to sabotage almost every industry you have... except protesting here is where BC thrives... My point here is this, guys like you are what is sucking the life blood out of Canada, and maybe it is time for you to hoof it and move to the EU they love the left over there...Let those that actually love this country try and save it from "YOU people" -

They'll need to fund everything, and more....but do you really think they have not thought that through...It also makes joining the us that much more attractive.... WTF, are you thinking....yes they will allow 2 small pockets of hold outs in the provinces "not"...i think it will be more like your free to leave don't let the door hit your ass on the way out...And if they join the US what happens to Indigenous lands and treaties....that would be the bigger question.... Yup, there are going to be people that will leave....and there will be people that will move into Alberta.....the next big question will be will Alberta leaving make any of the other western provinces to leave as well, Sask, Manitoba, and BC has talked about forming their own nation....although not sure if Alberta will take in BC, way to left and then there is EBY... And then what happens to the rest of Canada....lets not forget about Quebec , why would they stay in a failed union ....and it snowballs from here ....until there is nothing left....and trump gets his new map with the stars and strips all over north america "No one" will be swimming in money, if one province leaves the union it will be the end of Canada...and what is left of Canada will become a third world nation or part of the states....millions of questions after all of that, like what happens to all those CPP and OAS checks....Federal pensions......Unemployment checks ( because the provinces will be broke at least in the Maritimes) health care , education, will be smashed ...The only hope is for us to remain united....because the other option looks bleak...the only ones that will make out is the rich.... -

Yes paying to much and not having their voice heard in Ottawa....Alberta is not the only province with a separatist movement, Sask, Manitoba , Quebec, and yes Sparky....your own province of BC just started another one this week....go figure...You guys should keep Eby on as your mascot...See lots of Canadians tired of what the nation has become... -
The convention was a leadership review...to check in to see if the party want Pierre to remain in the leadership role...and the results are a historical high, for any conservative leader...So ya he has reason to celebrate...despite your fantasy list.. Liberal voters should be happy.... With 95 % of the conservative party at the convention and he received 87.4 % of the vote, which is a historical record for the conservative party....Did they win the Stanley cup...no this was Conservatives party members telling the world that they fully support Pierre as leader of the conservative party, your a liberal voter why does it bother you so much... ......only one making a fuss is you and the liberals.... 2 members crosses the floor...and you make it sound like there is a crises...all that happen was 2 conservatives crossed the floor, and in the next election we will see, if liberal voters in those riding will give him their votes if not it was career suicide...

WOW, never seen this coming...It seems the UN is broke, and facing financial collapse... UN is blaming many of those that have not paid up their dues, to include the US, which is the largest contributor...Is this a warning to those who do pay on time that dues might go up......or this a warning that the UN might fade into the back ground....UN has lost it's knight in shinny armor image, and has become a organization with NO teeth to enforce any of it's policies or directives...as members pull away for certain aspects or internal UN departments... This is going to be good news for some.... So what is next, or is there something next...Maybe Carneys new world order...or something like that... https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cr579mdv4m7o https://www.reuters.com/world/un-chief-guterres-warns-imminent-financial-collapse-2026-01-30/
