Carolyn Parrish and the Past Election
caesar replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I thought she called them god damned bastards. Other than that; your logic is flawed and your facts are not facts. Hopefully, you are just joking -
Canada has been frozen out of intelligence sharing
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No, not all world leaders butr Bush has shown that he can be very petty and stamp his feet like any 4 year old. -
What a poor excuse.

Canada has been frozen out of intelligence sharing
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Good thing; all their intelligence is flawed, forged, or straight out lies. -
The gst has nothing to do with free trade. The dummies who voted for free trade thought that meant they would be able to go to the USA and bring stuff back without paying at the border. They didn't get the real picture. Cretiens won in a landslide by promising to get rid of the gst. The conservatives were nearly history.

Bro; Do you never listen to the news???? Even bush knows that Saddam and bin laden were neither friends nor cohorts. Read and research don't day dream and make excuses

I am not alone in this. Not only BC jobs; money returned to the BC economy. The cost is more that the 500 million; it will mean we must give the federal government and extra 150 million import tax. How much will it cost to transport these ships from Europe. Since our local shipyards were not allowed to even bid on these ships; how do we even make a comparison of costs. The Ferry system was converted to a private company; still owned and paid for by the BC public; only now we cannot make this business accountable to the public?? I think this is a deliberate scheme of the GC government to destroy union jobs in BC.

Would we want cheats and liars and neer do well responsible for protecting our country. I think if I were in the military; I would find that insulting

That is not what the article said. It merely said he was not as left wing as some would like. There is still a good majority of people who prefer something more middle of the road; neither right or left. We do not need to fit into right or left. I am not particularly interested in this party but do want to remind everyone; there are many of us fairly in the center.

Join the NDP, Parrish, they call Americans idiots
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Who cares. We were there for them after 9/11 and recieved only scorn from Bush and Co. I do not need nor want Canada to kow tow to the USA instead of standing by our own principles. Nor do I want the Bush administration to decide how Canadian taxpayer's money is spent. We have our priorities; they have theirs. The USA administration thinks they are all powerful and all knowing; they antaganize people around the world; not Canada. We are not attracting terrorism to our country. -
I would like to give the working poor a hand up but I don't want to have to subsidize them the rest of their lives. Subsidized housing is unfair unless it is available to all working poor. I know that many seniors live in subsidized housing; those of us who have saved for our old age instead of spending every penny we made end up subsidizing those who may have partied and lived the high life believing the government would take care of them in their senior years. For those disabled and unable to work; I do believe they need more to live on. However, not all disabilities prevent someone from working. I know many welfare recipients that are just using the system. If they are not working towards being independent and getting themselves off the system; why is it my responsibility.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with our ship building industry. To not allow them to bid on the contract is sheer stupidity. BC will be paying the federal government an extra 150 million import taxes; the ferries will have to be shipped to Canada, There is NO evidence that they will deliver a superior product I care and so do many taxpayers. These jobs would have return much of the money earned building these ship back into our tax system? I do not buy at Walmart. The oranges comment is ridiculous.

The Canadian Can west newspapers are not printing the newsworthy stories. Unless it promotes its ideas; it doesn't get printed. Mosts newspapers today aren't worth the paper they are written on. As for Kerry's American protectionism; I think that is more slanted to third world countries that companies outsource things to. The products coming from Canada do not usually fit that mold. However, Gordon Campbell is doing his best to make BC equal to third world countries with low wages and child labour

Hopefully, it is not too late. The balance of power between the USSR and the USA was keeping the peace. It may need China to come to the forefront and balance the power of the USA. Things may improve if Bush is replaced come election time. I think we need to rebuild our armies and navy to a certain extent; trained to handle natural and man made disasters. There is no way we could stop the USA if they wish to take over Canada. At the present time; there is no threat there; the citizens of America wouldn't buy any excuse to invade Canada. However, Canada is allowing the USA to practically control our resources so for the moment; there is no need.

I think this missile defence will just start up the arms race again. The invasion of Iraq and threats against other countries has already had many of them looking to start up nuclear weapons. I think we are better off standing on our own. Joining this system would make us appear as an American satelitte country and make us more liakely to be attacked. I think we are fairly safe here in Canada; there are bigger and better targets in the USA. The USA government is angering countries and people around the world; not Canada.

Hospital gowns are not really an issue. I do believe most hospitals allow you to wear your own night wear. They would be asked to wear the gowns if they are needing many injections but could always wear a housecoat. As for the courts; that is not a religious issue here and they should abide by our laws. Out of court settlements can be done anyway anyone sees fit. I think we sometimes go too far to accomodate new citizens. Let them join in our ways or we will have another Quebec. It is irritating when I am told not to wish anyone Merry Christmas, We are encouraged to say happy holidays. Why should anyone be offended.

Has Canada rafitied the Kyoto Accord yet?
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Clean up the environment. It may not be possible as quickly as Kyoto wants but we certainly should work towards it. We put pressure on people smoking cigarettes; that's small potatoes compared to the industrial pollution that affects our health as well as the question of global warming -
Will Quebec ever be independant?
caesar replied to August1991's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Why don't we want Quebec to go? Because they would be a foreign nation in between the West and east coast. We have spent enough money and time trying to satisfy them. Time for a little tough love. Canada does not have the strong central government and Quebec does get to run a majority of its own affairs; so why always such a problem. Do they really think that they would be better off without Canada. For trade matters, Canada is really too small to have much clout; what would a tiny Quebec have. They are one of the have not provinces; so obviously no great wealth there to keep the economy running smoothly. They would lose many English first companies and government regulated businesses that encourage head offices in Quebec like Air Canada. I am sure a majority of English first citizens would seek to leave a French dominated Quebec. -
Oh they understand perfectly. By keeping our lumber out by punishing tariffs; they can charge the American consumer higher prices. It is not the American consumer who doesn't want our lumber.
-
Of course, after all we are paying them the most while cutting everyone elses wages or replacing them with minimum wage contract workers. An average 50 thousand a year raise is outrageous when others are having their wages cut or jobs contracted out

Martin hasn't had a chance to back pedal on his health care promises. The premiers think that they can decide what the feds should do. I do not agree on their pharmacare program. Based on the BC one it will hurt a lot of seniors as it has done here. I think that we need our healthcare delivery improved first. That will mean more than the feds giving the provinces more money. Here in BC our tuition fees have risen; student grants have been done away with. Where are we to get more doctors. We should be paying for the training of qualified students with the requirement that they work in the all round type clinics suggested on salaries for a number of years to repay their training. I understand these clinics would be more efficient and of course much easier for the patient than running all around town for x rays, MRIs and to consult specialists. Irregardless, I would not want the feds to hand over more money without any strings attached.

Are you anti USA or anti Bush?
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I can't be bothered with offering a closed mind proof that you just ignore. Even the American Congress has seen the light better than you. -
What an idiot. Campbell allowed this to become a private company owned by the government to avoid disclosing information and accounting for its actions.

You my dear boy are the one lacking any proof. I have lots of proof; you just refuse to look beyond the end of your nose.
