no incentive to work. collect the guarantee and then make more money in black market activities; prostitution, drugs, etc. The rest of us will be working our butts off and going no where supporting these lazy bums. No thanks. I don't mind helping out seniors on fixed budgets with inflation eating up their cash; handicapped people should recieve more money for living expenses and enabling them to find meaningful employment that they are capable of or single mothers with young children. But anybody who is physically and mentally capable of work should pull their share of the load

The biggest thing missed on Healthcare
caesar replied to wm009's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The provincial governments should get out of the healthcare business and turn it over to the federal government so all Canadians get the same coverage. It should be cheaper with less replication of services in each province. It is referred to as "national" healthcare. Stop the games where healthcare is used as a lever to pry more cash out of the federal government. Healthcare is the provincial / terrirtotial governments best tool to use to pry more money out of the feds with large public support. There is no incentive for the smaller governments to deliver efficient healthcare as then they lose their leverage for obtaining more money. That is why they wanted the cash but not the strings attached to how it is used. -

BC Liberal Political Aide Charged

Hey, wonder if she read this; she just resigned as deputy premier and is sitting as a back bencher. -
BC Liberal Political Aide Charged
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
When are they going to officially fire Virk so we don't have to keep paying him. Whomever is responsible for checking these people out for clearance to work in government should be fired. No more neopotism. Christy Clark should be out of cabinet, too. With relatives like hers her security clearance is very suspect -
We need to talk more about education.
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nonsense; you need very good grades in high school to get accepted in university. -
Are people really falling for the bunch of bs this Campbell government is handing out. They have put us another 3 billion dollars in debt even after cutting services and selling off our assets. Is everyone in BC brain dead? Another 4 years of Campbell is a depressing thought. Anyhow, the polls for the federal election didn't come out too close so who knows????

What The F*** Are Cdns Going To Do This Winter?
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Have you ever been to a hockey game. The rough stuff is what the FANS all scream for; don't blame the players. -
How does having some go to private clinics help?? We still have the same number of doctors. We need more efficiency in the system; We need to have the federal government and provincial governments to quit using health care in their power struggles. The national healthcare systems that work better than Canada's are probably run by a central government not 13 smaller governments; duplicating services in administration which eats up money.

They are no longer working politicians; they are not in hiding. If they are needed for any enquiry they are easily found.

BC Citizen's Assembly calls for PR
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I really don't think I would like the PR way of voting. I really don't think it serves anyone well to be paying MPs who really represent no riding and are from fringe parties. I like the way it works now just fine. I am open to enlightenment, though. I sure wouldn't want tp see another government with no official opposition -
I thought the forum was full of right wing conservatives and one strong NDP supporter. What is the sense of a forum that doesn't have opposing viewpoints. That would be boring. I would like to see a little more open mindedness on both sides. I, myself am right in the middle; so I disagree with others constantly. That's why I am here. Perhaps we could all learn something. There are some good points on all sides unless you like Bush. There I draw the line

Bro; it has been discussed to death. You are behind the times. You don't believe the facts that even the American Congress has recognized. The invasion of Iraq was based on faulty, fraudulent, forged information. That is a fact not an opinion. Canada made the right choice.

Actually, quite often. the station at Knight and 33rd nearly every week. Only in Vancouver. Our prices go up and down like a yo yo and this station is a leader.

The farmers are waiting because the money sent went to large meat p[acking plants (Mostly American owned) instead of to the farmers. Who did that??? The federal government did send money to help the BSE crisis.
-
Then I suppose the federal government shouldn't be helping to bail out Albertan beef producers. Nope, we don't whine we make wine. I am all for controlling our natural resources from foreign control which was another purpose of the NEP. Let's keep Canada Canadian owned.

Vanier Institute: Each Cdn worth over $300,000.
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
yes, land rich cash poor. but it is the lifestyle they prefer. I consider myself worth more than 300 thousand. The credit card people think I am worth a lot; they keep upping my credit limit. -
Are you anti USA or anti Bush?
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Canada / United States Relations
As we now know how poor the American intelligence agency is for accuracy; maybe millions. -
Are you anti USA or anti Bush?
caesar replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Well, many of us, including government officials have made their feelings known. Ms Parrish who called the American delegation damn bastards was re-elected and has since referred to American defensive shield supporters idiots. Officially, we try to keep our mouths shut for economic reasons and hope that the American public comes to its senses and kicks Bush out of office. -
Vanier Institute: Each Cdn worth over $300,000.
caesar replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
300 thousand isn't really a heck of a lot these days. You can't even buy a house in Vancouver for that these days. EI should be abolished as it no longer protects the workers as there is no longer the right to quit an intolerable job or where the wages do not keep up with inflation. It is a rip off. -
If black dogs post of a sample of Fox news is the type of material covered by this station; no wonder it is not accepted in Canada. That was a disgusting attack on a citizen.
-
gouging is what I meant ; it is not gauge. That is what it is all about; why shouldn't the rest of Canada get a fair deal. Alberta is NOT the only energy producing province; just the biggest; especially when it comes to whining.
-
If Alberta only can succeed by gouging other Canadians; I have no sympathy. Surely they must have other eggs in their basket. The NEP only tried to ensure a better rate for "family" It did not ask for a below cost deal.
-
Sounds like a waste of time and money; waiting lists are long across Canada.

I wasn't complaining about reading skills. hehe I know we all rush out our posts and make errors. I should have read my own. Just slightly bored not much happening here
