  1. You may be right. If you had been able to read your own short post; ypu could have corrected yopur typing errors and made it more understandable for ; happened; shortcomings ; and your grammar re: "or a blame"??
  2. I was going to call you on this; asking if you ever heard any news. Fortunately, I read the rest of your message and realized that this is sarcasm
  3. Commonsense; You should be a little more diplomatic and controlled yourself and try using a little common sense. It is USA intervention policies and bullying and over protection of Israel"s misdeeds that is instigating this rise in Terrorism against North America. Until that is addressed; we will continue to live with the threat of these terrorist threats spreading into Canada.
  4. The people in her riding voted her back into power. Her language should be more diplomatic but many Canadians sympathize with her frustration and disgust with the American governments actions and attitudes
  5. What is your question Big Blue? We already contribute money and technology to the USA space program. You think that we need to contribute more for whatever crumbs extra they might send us? Let's get this country working smoothly sans corruption and wasting money. Canada is constantly sending off our tax money to help other countries; too much in my opinion. Why did we forgive all the loans to Russia?
  6. Now we are getting many foreign paying students attending schools in BC. Who gets the teacher's attention our kids (paid through taxes) or foreign paying students?
  7. Those people joined the military for education and to serve their country. There would be no complaints heard if it were in defense of their country rather than the flawed intelligence and other dubious reasons for invading Iraq without international backing. Risking our young peoples lives in defense of their country is one thing but sending them to risk their lives on this type of wild goose chase is a waste. Losing ones loved ones because of "friendly fire" incidents is a waste of lives. Too many died from "friendly fire" incidents caused by carelessness and hot dogging rather than by the fog of war. Americans seem to be more prone to these incidents; British forces did not have the same problem.
  8. So, we should speed things up and commit the same atrocious acts as we did then? There is a serious danger to space exploration that we seem to be largely ignoring. There is a serious possibility of bringing back alien bacteria that could cause unprecedented illnesses to the world; much like the diseases our ancestor's brought to the Americas that helped to wipe out a large number of natives.
  9. No, along came an American president with disdain for Canada and our Prime Minister. Remember, Bush and family are close friends of Mulroney. I think in the beginning, Chretien did his best to pretend that Canada and himself were not being snubbed.
  10. Late term abortions to protect the mother's health or to end an unviable fetus are special cases; I believe they have always been allowed. I hope it is only for these special circumstances.
  11. Late term abortions are not right. At that late date; it is a baby and irresponsible. I agree women should have a choice but this is waiting too long.
  12. Doesn't work. Bush lowered taxes and economy died. Lower taxes just mean more money in the pockets of the rich. American owned Canadian companies remove that extra money from /Canada.
  13. I do believe in the right of abortion but really do not think that an abortion at this late date is acceptable unless it is an emergency. It really surprises me that this move comes from Catholic dominant Quebec.
  14. More than any of the other parties; And that is all that counts for now.
  15. Easychair; If you want to come and be one of us Canadians; I am sure the majority of people will welcome you with open arms. Climate wise; BC would be a better choice. We have beautiful scenery and abundant sporting venues. I love the Okanagan.
  16. Playfullfellow; this is being done by activists and artists not taxpayer money. Our provincial government has bigger ways to waste taxpayer money; like buying ferries overseas instead of from their own taxpaying workers. They did this by "privatizing our Ferries" our ferries so that we can't demand accountability nor access information.
  17. I do realizw that we are making overtures to increase trade with China; I just think that a better effort is needed.
  18. well the USA is trading with China and China will soon surpass Canada as the USA's largest trading partner. So I think it is not quite as you suggest. The USA is only interested in our raw products, too. so where's the big difference. Perhaps China would abide by trade agreements; that would be a breath of fresh air after our dealings with our good southern neighbour
  19. Well Bro; guess you travel in the wrong circles. What are you....an Albertan?? Most of us did as Joe Clarke suggest; better the devil you know. We didn't want to be bush butt kissers.
  20. Even if this were true; that is too high a price to pay. We do not want to commit Canada to follow in the footsteps of the USA. They only lead to trouble.
  21. When did they stop???? That is what is happening now. Nobody expects us to stop trading completely with the USA; but we better get busy and start courting China.
  22. We darn well better make Mandarin and Cantonese part of our language training. If we don't get busy and make a real effort to attract trade with China; we will be left out of the loop. China trade with the USA is on track to surpass Canadian/ Usa trade within the decade; so it was said in our local newspaper
  23. It is NOT the Liberals handling of Canada / USA relations that have caused our problems with the USA. It is the USA bully tactics and unjust trading policies that have caused the Liberal and many many Canadian"s disgust with the USA government authorities. Harper going down to the USA and apologizing for Canada not backing the USA in the Iraq invasion was a big dumb stupid blunder and not mandated by the public
  24. It is not A Canadian problem that has kept these borders closed to our beef. If it required Canada to join an unwise vindictive invasion on Iraq and to risk Canadian soldiers to risk their lives for the fraudulent intelligence from the USA. Keep their borders closed. Canada has taken measure to help the beef industry by open and processing more of our own beef cattle. Thank god we didn't elect that turkey Harper as prime minister.
  25. Jay; Not exactly the case. Klein does like to grab the spotlight and throw out little tidbits to irritate the federal government or other provinces. His little alliance with Campbell here in BC makes us distrust his motives as we distrust Campbell and his assault on the seniors , women,, children and middle income workers; especially union workers. Without union pensions; the dreaded baby boomer might really be a challenge. As it is most will enter their senior years with adequately union pensions and will still be contributing to the tax base. I don't believe that they will be the big drain on the system that the governments would have us believe.
