I beg your pardon; we get plenty of sunshine in Vancouver. In fact, the sun is shining lovely today, as it did yesterday. We do get a good share of rain which keeps us looking green. We seldom have to shovel snow. Expensive; to be sure and getting worse everyday. In BC; Kelowna is a great choice. Much cheaper (but getting more expensive everyday) with most of the amenities and shopping but retains much of a small town friendliness. Even found an honest car mechanic that found nothing wrong with my car (pebble in the wheels making strange noises) and charged me nothing. That would have cost me probably at least 500 dollars in Vancouver for???? Of course, I could mention that our minimum wage is $8 compared to Alberta which at 5.90 is the lowest in Canada

I doubt very much that the environment is the number one issue for youth 18 to 25. I would bet that secondary education being available and affordable would be much more of a concern. You can pack your groceries home on the bus if you like Maple; I will certainly be driving my SUV. My SUV does many jobs that a little car does not; including offering a more safe vehicle in case of a minor collision. I have never been in a collision as my SUV gives me better visual affects without the blind spots in most cars. Long live the SUV the most practical vehicle on the market. We are not the only consumers in the world; they could easily sell their oil to China which is a growing consumer. Even the USA newspaper noted a concern that Canada could start selling our oil to China. I try to buy Canadian made goods; so don't worry about my closet. I do know Louis Vuitton staff uniforms had several item made in Morrocco. I believe many high end carpets are produced in the Middle East. You are really over reacting. Of course there will be cases of sick cows with assorted diseases. There are probably more cows than people in this country; we put more money into our own health initiatives. If we could completely guarantee that there would be no cows with illnesses than we should be able to cure every health problem of humans, too. That is not happening. The few cases of mad cow are really being over reacted too. It was a political move on the part of the USA to ban Canadian beef over the esistence of one cow. It was a call to go back to following nature and not to tamper with mother nature by feeding a vegetarian animal meat. Quit using old dairy cows as a human food source; that is what we produce beef cows for. Now if they would just quit messing with our vegetables: I would be much happier. An article confirmed that our vegetables are being grown to produce larger and more food but they are now lacking many of the nutrients that natural grown vegetable contained. (only carrotts improved) We older people all can confirm that the taste is missing. Store bought tomatoes are completly tasteless.
