I understand Bush was rather reluctant at first but he needed to put on a show of concern, I think it has become a little one upmanshipish at this time. However according to sources; many countries make promises and do not deliver the goods.

Your figures may be correct but your "editorial" is opinion only; not history. The Original combatants including Britain and Canada played a bigger role in WWII than the Americans. We were fighting for years before the Americans reluctantly joined the effort after being attacked themselves. Our troops werewearing down the Nazi war machine. The Americans were a big help but were more like fresh troops to aid the cause.

We do have a problem with media control here in Canada and it is not CBC. The problem would not be improved by allowing foreign ownership of our news media sources. We need to limit how much of our media can be owned by a single company. Can West is our problem. It owns a majority of newspapers, tv stations, and radio stations. The head office sends editorials to the various outlet papers and does not allow opposing views to be printed on their core editorials. We need to control how much of our media sources can be owned and controlled by one source. This majority control of our media sources allows them to spread propaganda by choosing the stories it wishes to release and those it likes to ignore or bury deep in the paper. We have two large daily papers (the Province and the Sun both owned by Can West) a daily National Post again owned by Can West. These Can West Media sources all present a pro Israel/ pro American point of view as they are controlled by a Jewish family.

To better control that alcohol does not get sold to minors. Vinegar does not have that problem. Your logic is lacking logic.

A "janitor" in a hospital may not need to make 20 per hour ; depending on his duties; but cleaning staff do need to be better trained than those in a shopping mall or other establishment. They need to be knowledgeable in avoiding picking up infections themselves and to clean properly to ensure infections do not spread. BC replace our janitorial staff with a cheaper alternative. Seven women having caesareans ended up with a flesh eating type of disease. Some may never be able to have another child; some nearly died. There is, also, concern that these staff members may not have the training to ensure they are knowledgeable in avoiding infecting themselves with bacterial infections present in hospitals.

That is really not true at all. Israel does threaten the other nations around and that is what has triggered terrorisem. Arab governments are afraid to retaliate against Israel for invading their air space and seizing their lands because Israel has big brother with the big guns to back up their actions. They would have a death wish for their nation to attack Israel. Right or wrong the USA would be there assisting Israel with annihalating any invasion to reclaim their land.

But according to a movie I watched (sci fi) the governments of countries could trigger an earthquake. This could be accidental or on purpose. Some of that undergound nuclear testing could trigger an earthquake.

Previous test were failures , too. I don't want it up in our northern country where Canada would end up with all the collateral damage. You can't do a lot of testing with these types of products without endangering lives and habitat. I admit, I am not too up on this system but understand it has questionable viability.

Not only do we not need it; many experts do not have much faith in it being effective. It would be just a waste of taxpayers dollars. I thought Paul Martin said something to that effect, himself. Recent tests were a fizzle.

It is possible that terorists could target American troops in these tsunami victim countries; however, I don't think it is likely. They could lose a lot of public support world wide and even terrorists seek to convert world wide public opinion to their side of issues. I would hope that none of those acts were staged or allowed to happen by any USA government source.

The USA only entered the war in retaliation for being attacked. Canadians VOLUNTEERED to join the fight in World War II; many were lying about their age to join before they were of an age to do so. Canadians may have been British subjects but we made our own decisions in Canada. We had our own military forces.

OH gee whiz; really. Do you think any country is 100% free of possible terrorists ??? Just remember who was "harbouring" the terrorist that blew up the WTC; in fact those terrorists learned to fly planes within that country (USA) Timothy McVeigh; home grown American terrorists; a returnee from the first gulf war; will this invasion in Iraq send home more persons with terroristic tendencies. I get tired of this dumb remarks that try to make Canada look less secure from terrorist activity than does our southern neighbour. It is straight BS. If we have some catastrophy here Canadians will deal with it quite well. I would expect help world wide just as we have sent help world wide.
