I haven't been here for a while either but I'm not really surprised this topic doesn't seem to be of much interest.Personally,I think it should be a hot topic(no pun intended). To my knowledge, there hasn't been much coverage of this story in the mainstream media.Guess this doesn't fit into their master plan or something like that. Here are some of the juicy bits from the emails:(From Kevin Trenberth,U.S. National Center for Atmospheric Research)"The fact is we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can't....Our observing system is inadequate." From Phil Jones:"I can't see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report.Kevin and I will keep them out somehow-even if we have to redefine what the peer review literature it!" The reaction from global warming....whoops...I mean climate change....yeah that's the ticket, advocates is that they are merely saying there will be a negative reaction from the right wingers.Like anyone who questions climate change is automatically a right winger. Why are they not turning their attention to the source of these emails?Namely, the CRU,or Climatic Research Unit?It appears that the data does not stand up under scrutiny and that the numbers have been manipulated by scientists? Why?

U.S. Senate Votes To Cut Funds To ACORN
ironstone replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I suggest that if anyone is sick of hearing about the apparent corruption of ACORN then they should stick exclusively to the New York Times and MSNBC.It won't be mentioned at all. -
Is there the "left" and "the radical left"?Or are they one and the same?I would like to think all of those on the left don't share the same views as someone like a William Ayers for instance. http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/30826/ Not liking Glenn Beck is perfectly fine with me.But is EVERYTHING he says factually wrong or is a lot of it merely the uncomfortable truth?
-
One has to wonder where the radical lefties that seem to be surrounding Team Obama want to progress to.Van Jones,Valerie Bartlett,William Ayers etc.I doubt Van Jones resigned because of his comments concerning Republicans,I think Obama's people just wanted him off the public stage for the time being. The more his past came out,the more difficult it was to try and explain to the American public why they had a Communist in such an important position. Not to mention his other radical affiliations,(Truthers for one).Americans deserve better.

I humbly admit that since where I live I do not have access to high speed internet and therefore youtube videos are too time consuming for me to bother watching. So what exactly is on this video? Even if I could see youtube,I'll still stick with FOX and see fair and balanced news coverage. Is youtube a source for you?
-
I'm just watching Glenn Beck here,it's Saturday night,9pm.He shows a clip from MSNBC.The clip shows some guy from the back and it shows on his waist some guns that he's wearing to some rally, perhaps concerning the health care debate,I didn't catch all of it.Then they go back to the studio and the MSNBC talking heads are implying how racist it is for anyone to show up to these events carrying guns. Then Beck shows some footage from a FOX cameraman of the same guy,but this time from the waist up.Sure enough he's carrying a gun.....but.....it's a black guy! Wow!They flat out lied and selectively edited this footage to fool their viewers.Just like the New York Times killing the ACORN story all over again. They are not satisfied to report the news as it actually happens, but they are willing to lie and fabricate in order to push the leftist agenda.Scary stuff.

Jimmy Carter - Shoots Dems in the Foot

Anyone remember Trudeau saying he wouldn't introduce wage and price controls? That was a whopper!

The Senate is dominated by Liberals because since they have historically been the party in power,AND THEY OVERWHELMINGLY PUT LIBERALS IN THERE! I actually favour the NDP's option regarding the Senate, abolish it if it is at all possible.Harper's plan is better than the status quo, which is what the Liberals favour.
-
Any theories as to how the Senate came to be dominated by Liberals?
-
Could it be considered to be the right decision even though it wasn't popular?Might this be yet another case of the Conservatives having to do the dirty work and the Liberals reaping the benefits? The GST was a huge cash cow for the Libs, and on the whole,I think most people would admit that free trade has also been good for the country. Both initiatives which the Liberals fought tooth and nail against while they were in opposition.
-
I recall an attack ad that the Liberals never ended up using at the time.Apparently the ad claimed that Harper would,in effect, send armed troops into the streets of Quebec or something idiotic like that.Wasn't there also an ad by the Libs that showed a handgun pointing at the audience? Seems to me the "hidden agenda"attacks are still paying huge dividends to this day.

I'll file that one next to this one,"If you elect me,I will get rid of the GST!"

Toronto School Board eyes "Afro-centric" school
ironstone replied to g_bambino's topic in Local Politics in Canada
John Tory got raked over the coals by just about everyone for proposing to fund other religious schools besides the Catholics. Now that there may be an "afro-centric" school under Dalton's watch, the response is rather muted to say the least. This story gets very little coverage it seems. -
Why didn't you give us some examples of Taliban justice?Tell us how you you think executing young women for trying to get educated is in any sense of the word justice. How about giving a direct answer instead of your usual pointless rants?
-
Care to tell everyone what you know about Taliban style justice?
-
You claim Canada has a stong and accurate legal system.I beg to differ,I think Canada has a rather lenient justice system on the whole. How many times have you read about an individual given a "life sentence" and then he/she is eligible for parole after a few years?Roger Walsh, charged with impaired driving something like 17-18 times and then FINALLY he is given a life sentence for killing a woman while impaired.Yeah sure,a life sentence my ass, eligible for parole after 7 years, and given his history he will surely get behind the wheel again while loaded. Your beloved Omar Khadr will get the same lenient treatment when he get's back to Canada and be free to ply his trade. Please tell my why you think having Khadr and his terrorist supporting family in Canada is beneficial to Canadians.

CPC Campaign Strategy: Fear, Fear and More Fear
ironstone replied to nicky10013's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Jack Layton as a Minister in a coalition government?Scares the hell out of me -
According to Beck,Mr.Jones has said some pretty radical things and has been linked to radical causes.Yes,Beck played some audio to verify this stuff.Let's see,Jones has fought to free a convicted cop killer, believes whites are poisoning minorities(migrant workers in fields, pesticides,a huge stretch ),believes the Bush administration let 9/11 happen and gave it his blessing,to name a few.It sounds like X Files stuff doesn't it?Another name that popped up is that of one Valerie Jarrett, said to be one of Obama's closest advisors.Said on tape we're happy to have recruited Van Jones,we've been watching him since his time on Oakland. Many months ago,I remember seeing comedian Victoria Jackson on the O'Reilly Factor. She said she thought Obama is a communist.I thought that was both silly and amusing at the time. Now I'm starting to wonder if she was right! Imagine if at the height of the cold war, someone said someday the Russians will turn to capitalism and the Americans will turn towards communism. Is this too far fetched or not?

We have it all in this forum, the good, the bad and the ugly. The ugly sh*t like the bad-ass bravado coming from people like GostHacked throwing out the "idiots" insults way too much. You wouldn't say it to someone's face so why do it here?Show a bit of class

Too many politicians from all sides act out of loyalty to their own parties far too often and fail to do the right thing. After reading another article by David Warren in the Ottawa Citizen today,it seems sad that the passing of Kennedy's elder sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver did not get more attention.Sounds like she was an amazing person, but one who was doing her good deeds without seeking the spotlight. It's too bad that style always get's more attention than substance. http://www.davidwarrenonline.com/index.php?id=1041 -
If the polls are to be believed,we will likely have minority governments for some time. The Liberals are kind of like the separatists in Quebec in that they will not take no for an answer and keep asking the same question until they get the result they want. They firmly believe governing Canada is their right.
