  1. Ron Paul talking about the Federal Reserve and monetary/banking policy. This is in 2007, he warns of the possibility of a coming recession or depression and the collapse of the dollar. It is a very good watch. He was right about the recession. The dollar is hitting record lows against gold and many currencies around the world, the Canadian dollar is near par with the US dollar. The US dollar is collapsing. That is what the tea party wants, someone honest.
  2. What views do you find strange?
  3. Stop watching main stream media. Ron Paul is the spiritual godfather or the movement. Not Sarah Palin, not Rand Paul. This will become more evident the closer we come to the next presidential election. Ron Paul may be a republican but he is more of a traditional republican, he has ran for president as a libertarian in the past.
  4. It still shouldn't be allowed to go on. It hurts too many people. The people who wish to save up dollars for a house shouldn't be penalized. They are grassroots. I have been following the movements before they were called the tea parties. However, there are certain special interest groups that are attempting to control the movement.
  5. It isn't just the government, private banks cause inflation and deflation threw the practice of fractional reserve banking. Not nearly enough. Lets draw the line at resources. They belong to all of us, they should never be privately controlled. We are the people. I think decisions should be made at the local level. For example, I live in Winnipeg, there happens to be an abundance of electricity in manitoba. Why not use that to our advantage. Winnipeg should develep a transit sestem that runs off electricity. We should use the sientific method to try and figure out the best possible approach in doing this. All the architects, engineers, physicists, whoever wishes, they could come together and develop a transit system that is green, efficent, it should use the latest technology and be within our resource limit. Im sure there will be debate and opposition and we will be left with a few possible approaches, that is when we exercise our right to vote. It wouldn't have to be globally. Lets start here in Canada, if other nations wish to immitate us that is there choice. What creates the garbage? We should be developing products that are completely recyclable. Lets eliminate garbage at the source so we don't have to take out the garbage. Not too bad is still bad.
  6. I don't think going back to a gold standard will actually solve the problem. There is no guarantee the system won't corrupt itself again like it has so many times in the past. I believe with a monetary based economy, corruption is just a matter of time. Inflation is a direct transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich. All of us are being robbed in front of our eyes and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems or care. 'K, your right, private property right must be protected but only to a certain extent I think all the resources of the planet; iron, oil, gold, etc, they are a common heritage to all of us. No private corporations should be allowed to control the management of these resource. That being said I don't think the government should control them either. The people should control the resources. We should manage them in a way that is sustainable to the environment and in a way that will create a sustainable society. Inventing new technologies, advancing sciences, just helping out would benefit you and all of society, that would be the incentive. I don't think this system works very well. I'm pretty sure we are on the verge of a global depression that will devastate hundreds of millions of lives world wide. It all seems kind of stupid to me, a completely unnecessary and avoidable event.
  7. Ron Paul, who I believe is one of the most honest politicians out there, he uses the Austrian theory. He predicted the economic collapse while running for GOP nominee, he still lost. Crazy world we live in. I'm in microeconomics right now, it is more supply and demand, macro is next term. I too like the Austrian theory more, I haven't studied it in depth but I do think we should get rid of the Bank of Canada and stop the manipulation of the economy. More importantly... Look at the monetary based economy. You can argue it creates incentive and I'll agree it does, look at what else it creates; corruption, inequities across the board, poverty, pollution, war, it is an extremely unstable system especially with the use of fiat currencies. We need to create a system that isn't held back by the current monetary system. We can't have automated farms or automated whatever factories because it would cut jobs hurting the economy. We stifle creativity through patent laws, I do understand they are necessary or favorable to the economy, either way, some peoples creativity is limited by laws. We continue to use items that burn fossil fuels even though we have technology that would end our dependence on fossil fuels simply because it is cheaper or more profitable not to do so. We need to start to work together, get rid of private ownership, start using/sharing our resources while using the scientific method for the betterment of all man and not just certain groups such as corporations.
  8. I think it is more then governments that are holding us back, I think it is the monetary based economy that is holding us back. Democracies, communism, national socialism, they are all bound to fail because they all operate with a monetary based economy. Why not? Our economic/monetary systems are deeply flawed, paper can't be money, it always ends up being abused. I posted on this forum when silver was 16.50 an ounce saying to buy it, it is now up to I think 23.50 an ounce and it will continue to go up as long as governments continue to debase the currencies. This system isn't fair to the people who worked hard and have their savings in dollars, the purchasing power of those dollars is falling, all of them/us are being robbed of our wealth. The current monetary system is insane, it is the largest unquestioned systems of faith we have, it is more dangerous then any religion or terrorist group. I hate the entire concept of money but if we are going to use it at least lets have currencies backed by gold or silver, something that banks and governments can't just print or digitally create.
  9. Think passed governments, money, all of it. This planet is full of resources, many are scarce. That being said, the proper management and utilization of these resources is the most important thing we can do. How well we relate to our surrounding is what will determine if we survive. Poverty, disease, pollutions, these problems are true problems. How do I know, because they are problems common to all of us. We should be using what resources we have to try and solve these problems. I don't mean just the physical resources but our mental resources as well. I get that if we had completely automated farms so humans would never have to work to get food besides maintaining these machines or implementing advancements in technology, that would eliminate jobs. Hell, the economy would collapse, although it already is collapsing. Look at what we would gain, we would be ending starvation and come closer to solving poverty. That is social prosperity. I'm taking economics and political science. haven't decided my major yet.
  10. Money needs to be gold or some commodity. We can't have governments or private companies creating dollars out of nothing. Paper money is and will always be abused.
  11. I mean we should be mass producing food with machine labour not man labour. Create abundance of food so we don't have to sell or buy food any more. No, me and you, all of us. This is the sort of stuff we should be working towards. I know, it's a crazy thought, people working together to make life better for everyone. Who is responsible for allowing your house to be heated and cooled, a technician, technology is what solves problems, governments don't. Technology is what frees humanity and increase our standard of living. Governments will never solve poverty or pollution, technology will. We really are, right now we are in tyranny, we need to end that cycle. What hasn't changed the whole time throughout history, we have always lived in a world of scarcity. That is what needs to change.
  12. The conspiracy involves all of us. Every morning we wake up and put our faith in the economic system, the political systems and other established systems of the world and we truly believe that they will lead to more prosperity, equality, freedom and a higher standard of living. That is a lie and that is the conspiracy. Our current economic system is a system based on the management of our scarce resources...let's end scarcity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydQO6fPHsyY Machines building cars. We should be using this type of technology in agriculture. I think ending something like poverty or at the very least having right to food would be considered prosperous. Instead of using the most advanced technology for the common good we generally use it for military purposes. This is going to sound lame but we should be making weapons of mass creating instead of weapons of mass destruction. Governments should be at the forefront of technology. We are an analog society living in a digital age.
  13. Glenn Beck is some elitist's bid to hijack and control the tea party movement. The tea party wants change, some people don't want a movement of change running wild. Alex Jones is a conspiracy theorist and he has the right to be. All I hear him say is that there are certain special interest groups that are working together to serve their interests as appose societies interests, which there are. Believe it or not some very powerful people in the world don't believe in equality or democracy. I'm not saying he is right about everything. He also often states that the root cause of many of the problems is the Federal Reserve, he believes that private banks have hijacked the banking/monetary/economic system in America and in other countries, which they have. I stopped listening to Alex because he is a fear monger, he does not offer any solutions, he can be very repetitive and is horrible at hosting interviews. I'll only ever listen to him if he is interviewing someone like Ron Paul, Jesse Ventura or Gerald Celente.
  14. Arnold doesn't support the legalization of marijuana either, all though he use to smoke it. A republican with brains would be Ron Paul.
  15. We really should get rid of fractional reserve banking. Inflation is a hidden tax and more often then not do wages rise enough to compensate. Central banks too is a terrible idea though it does look like they are here for the time being.
  16. California is yet to vote on Prop 19 which would legalize small amounts of marijuana. I think they are having the vote November 2nd. Legalization is far superior to decriminalization.
  17. I agree. I believe more in smaller and local governments. People thousands of kilometers away from me shouldn't be making decisions on how I live.
  18. Palin and Beck are not leaders, if they are considered leaders it is because the party is being distorted by the media and been hijacked from Ron Paul. He will be the Tea Party candidate for 2012, he is a republican but he ran for president as a libertarian in the past. They are mad that the government thinks they can spend whatever it wants while skyrocketing the national debt. They want a smaller government that spends less and the benefits that come with that such as lower taxes. Many do want to end the Federal Reserve and the wars too. I have been following the movement before it was the Tea Parties, it started around Ron Paul's presidential campaign in 2008.
  19. That isn't the question. The question is should we be polluting? Do you guys not really see all the damage we are doing to the planet. You think with the gulf Oil spill peoples would wake up but no. This is no way to build a sustainable society.
  20. A federal carbon tax won't solve any problem. If we were really serious about not hurting the environment we would stop abusing it. We are blinded by the dream of getting rich, we will try to achieve it at any cost.
  21. The U.S. is screwed for many reason and it is all thanks to the Federal Reserve.
  22. Let's legalize drugs then, drug dealers don't I.D. kids.
  23. Speaking of our national debt, why don't we nationalize it? I think privatizing our national was a terrible idea. At least if we nationalized the debt, we would owe the money to ourselves.
  24. I have friends who have been victimized, it isn't nonsense, as little as 3 weeks ago too. Why should dealer go to jail. Why should we tie up the court system with these cases. Why should we be using police resources on this matter.
  25. I don't know, why should you? The government needs more money I guess. I would support getting rid of the tax on alcohol too. So should the people who do not bring harm upon others be victimized as well. Not everyone with addictions cause harm or steal from others. Simple possession is illegal. If you do steal or harass others, that is a different story all together. I find that prohibition does not actually solve any problems. People still use drugs and will continue to. All I see prohibition doing is creating a billion dollar black market which in turn makes the streets less safe.
