It's because both systems are subservient to the banks.
-
I'm not even going to bother saying we need change if you all think this current system is so wonderful, why would you want change. Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BB5deHrhac This is the future. This is what is going to happen in America, I'm sure to some extent in Canada as well but it won't be as severe as in America. I'll talk economics if you disagree with me.

Challenges was a bad word to use. We still live the same kind of lifestyles as we have in the past, there may be certain changes as we adapt to new and different technologies but it is generally the same lifestyle. The approach we have take has been effective in the sense that it lets us get from point A to point B but when you talk cost you are only thinking in terms of money. What about the environmental damage, the depletion of resources and the social problems created such as drinking and driving, these are the real costs. Using Maglev could be a viable alternative.

I wouldm't say our life has gotten better or maybe it has, I'll agree that our stanard of living has risen which is expected with the evolution and creation of technologies but as individuals we still face the same challenges as we have in the past. I know Elites motive is to get welthier, that is the problem, the elites being the people with power don't really care about the people, all they want is to be wealthier, that is most of our goals, that is the problem, it is our way of thinking. I posted this before but noone responded. The number one cause of criminal death in Canada is cause by drinking and driving. The conservative approach may be to increase fines or penalties for drinking and driving to deter people from drinking and driving. The liberal approach might be to educate people on the dangers of drinking and driving in order to deter people from drinking and driving. None of those will actually stop a drunk collision from happening. Why don't we develop a form of transportation where drinking and driving isn't even a possibiliy, why don't we ever actually solve problems.

If you're Alex Jones you would say the New World Order is a group of elites that are pulling the strings behind the scenes to get what they want, the big players being the international bankers of the world. There goal is global governance, depopulation and to enslave the people of the world. I see the new world order as globalization mixed with fascism. I really don't see anything new about the new world order, it is how the game has always been played.

I'm sure most of you know who Jesse Ventura is, some of you might have seen his show Conspiracy Theory. He did a show this year entitle Police State, in it he talks about the Fusion Centers they are building in the states, he talks about FEMA camps, it is pretty much an episode about how the government is watching their citizens and what would happen if martial law was enacted in the States. Just recently an agency within the US Government put pressure on Time Warner to remove the episode, they have since removed the episode from their Tru TV website. Why the US government got involved, I don't know, it does seem like they don't want the people to see something in the episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVyCEwrcl9o Here is the episode if you wanna watch it.

at $16.50 an ounce I was telling people on this forum to buy silver, I'm sure nobody did. You didn't miss out yet, it will still go up. Like you said, $9 trillion in US bailouts does not come without cost..

I am under 25, I do smoke dope, and out of the major political parties I support the green party the most. I don't consider myself to be ignorant, most of my friends simply vote for whoever their parents tell em to vote for, usually liberal or conservative.

I would attribute our longer lifespan to advances in sciences and technologies. I'm more worried about the present and future. The American economy will collapse, they are printing money to pay for debt, that is a sign of a failed economic system. The U.S. dollar will collapse, America will slip into depression bringing down the world economy with it. Millions will lose there jobs and homes, food riots will break out, lots of people will die. Peter Schiff, Ron Paul, Gerald Celente, just try listening to what they are saying. These guys were warning us of the recession prior to the recession, all of them are calling for a collapse in the U.S. Dollar. Ben Bernake prior to the recession Peter Schiff prior to the recession http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I0QN-FYkpw

Concentration of wealth and power will always occur in a monetary based economy, it is one of its symptoms. Does not matter if its capitalism or communism, both systems use money, corruption is simply a matter of time in both systems. Markets can also crash putting millions on the streets. Do you guys not see how much this monetary based economy divides us, how many social and environmental problems it creates.

I'm sure god doesn't mind. If you look back to the late 60's early 70's when all the hippies were getting stoned saying give peace and love a chance, I'm sure god was happy to see his/her children coming together. Maybe god put some drugs here to help facilitate our evolution. Well if you look at Ron Paul who is conservative, he wan't to end the wars, he advocates capitalism.

Wikleaks another report

Saudi funds terrorist, America fights a war on terrorism, America needs oil to fuel their war machine, they buy oil from the Saudis. The Saudis want war, they make a lot of money off war. -
America invaded Iraq based on a lie they fed to the American people in order to gain support for the invasion. Some say over a million Iraqis have died, is America any better? And America wouldn't drop a nuke on North Korea, it is more profitable to have a prolonged war.

After 4 Bil. where's the jobs?
maple_leafs182 replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Because pumping money into the economy is a way to temporarily prop up the economy, it is not a way of creating jobs, the private sector has to create jobs, not the government. -
Equality? No such damned thing!
maple_leafs182 replied to Oleg Bach's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
There is no need for politicians, they solve no problems, they simply create more problems. As for social stability, this current system is completely unstable. Ireland just got bailed out, America is printing money to pay for its deficits, the global economy is collapsing in front of our eyes, this system is anything but stable. I think most problems can be solved if we looked at them technically. If there is a car crash who is to blame, the car manufacturers? the drivers? or the method of transportation that allowed for collision to occur. We should develop a system of transportation that does not allow the possibility of a collision to occur in the first place. Applying drinking and driving or speed laws won't stop car crashes from occurring but developing a new transportation system that makes it impossible for collisions to occur, well that would solve the problem. -
The only reason you have money in your wallet is because someone borrowed that money for it to come into existence, we have a debt based currency.
-
Debt is the monetary system, without debt there would be no currency in circulation.

Well First we should test the soil to see what we can grow there, what is best suited to grow there. If we need to add certain nutrients back to the soil we do so, in an environmentally friendly way of course. What we can't grow there we can grow in greenhouses, hydroponics is an option. Whatever we find to be the best approach, we arrive at that decision by using the scientific method. Do you get what I am saying? -
I think the big bankers have it the best, they control the economies of the world and if they make a bad bet like Goldman Sachs did with AIG, it doesn't matter because they just charge their loss to the people. Society has no choice but to comply, if the banks fail society as we know it would collapse, we have become so dependent on the banks that we are willing to give up our wealth too support them. Debt, probably the best disguised form of slavery yet.

Why are gas prices going up?
maple_leafs182 replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Goldman Sachs is predicting higher oil prices for 2011 and 2012. I can see oil prices going higher in the next few years, just in time for the electric cars to come out. People we be forced to buy electric cars, good thing America just 'recently' discovered Afghanistan had over a trillion dollars in lithium deposits. And when governments flood the market with currency, that leads to inflation. -

Then if lack of fertile soil is a problem, we can grow the food hydroponically. We can solve most problems we face, we just have realize that they are technical problems. Starvation isn't a problem for alot people in Canada but it is still a problem for many people, not to mention all the people that are struggling to put food on their plates. It isn't that there is a lack of food, it is the people lack purchasing power, another reason why we must abolish the monetary system. As for the food being produced, much of it is loaded with growth hormones and many other chemicals that we shouldn't be ingesting, we should be eating organic, it is far more healthy. I agree, education is extremely important. I think the biggest problem with the current education system is we train people more for jobs then teach them how to solve problems. I am not advocating some sort of utopia where everything works out all the time, there is no such thing, yes there will be many challenges we would have to face. Lets look at water, it is essential to all life on this planet yet there is becoming less and less clean water around because of all the pollution we are creating. This is a problem common to all man and yes it is a technical problem. The solution isn't implementing some sort of carbon tax law(laws are what politicians enact when they don't know how to solve a problem), we have to drastically change our modes of transportations and production methods, we need to develop systems that are ecologically friendly. We should also develop some sort of filter to clean the waters we have polluted. -

I do not know what you mean by this. Technology is just an extension of man, how is it a virus. Debt on the other, it is a true virus, it spreads attacking nations and people, Ireland is just another victim. I think you guys just can't see past the bullshit that is politics and the current economic system, see first with your eyes then with your mind. Mass starvation is bad, automated farms will solve this problem, it is a technical problem that faces society not a political problem. We've gone from empathy in blood ties to empathy in religious association of ties to empathy based on national identification, is it really a big stretch to imagine the new technologies allowing us to connect our empathy to the human race at large. Right now we are the culture of lost, we are afraid, fighting for survival, we fear there isn't enough resources to meet the needs of everyone so we compete for what we can get our hands on. We need to become the culture of one, a society that works together to benefit the entire species. -

maple_leafs182 replied to Oleg Bach's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Nobody would be in that position. We as a society would develop an automated farm system that would grow the food for the people. Maintaining the system would become the peoples responsibility, I would assume we would eventually develop computer/robotic systems that would maintain the systems for us. There would be no need to sell food for we would create an abundance. You can't sell what is already in abundance. This is why I have no plans to become a teacher, I am terrible at articulating my thoughts.
