  1. It'll probably still be much like a day on Earth in the dark ages listening to the arguments people use when making a case against things they don't like.
  2. Proof is the responsibility of the positive claimant.
  3. Maybe her real issue is that she never learned how to deal with frustration on her own, it was probably pandered to when she was a kid. She never developed the emotional calluses that make it easier to ignore and deal with issues like ducks deal with water. Some people think the boomer generation is the most well adjusted generation there ever was. We weren't helicoptered, we didn't have play dates arranged for us. We were out the door on our own after breakfast and it was be home by dark or see you at dinner. We couldn't plug into a screen if we had nothing to do. We kept ourselves entertained. We had to figure out how to deal with bullies on our own. For lots of kids it like the Lord of the Flies out there. Kids learned to roll with life's day to day challenges on their own. They had to go get their own bandage when they got a boo and sooth their own hurt feelings if someone called them something disparaging. Nowadays parents would be reported for negligence for leaving their kids on their own the way many boomers were 'raised'. Sure, some kids never made it but most did. Me and a couple of buddies were on the road heading for the coast by the time we were 15 -16.
  4. You're anti-science because you don't even know what science is, what it's for and how it does it. You're as frightened of science as the Inquisition who locked Galileo up. It only took them 350 years to admit they were wrong and science was right. I suspect you'll argue against it till the day you die.
  5. Your jab at lefties has backfired because you're too stupid to even frame an intelligent question. Your thread title and list both ask, Which part of science is most important to you? Climate change Gender studies Critical race studies Reproductive LGBTQ studies These are not parts of science, they're areas of scientific study. They're not... Gender parts Critical race parts Reproductive parts LGBTQ parts See how stupid that sounds? The most important part of science is the scientific method that makes areas of study like these relevant and useful and that's true no matter what you choose to study scientifically.
  6. Iranians would be taking a chance trusting it given the way America abandoned Iraq's Marsh Arabs to Saddam's tender mercies after telling them to rise up against his tyranny during the Gulf War 1.
  7. Assuming human rights matter we crossed it decades ago.
  8. WTF...why? Are we some kind of threat to someone?
  9. You do realize doctors all wear gloves right? What sort of cooties are you actually worried about? In any case I think if I was in charge I'd put you at the back of the waiting list. BTW are you aware of MAID and what DNR means? How about organ donation? Everyone deserves a chance at the best coloured organs available don't you think? Is it just the ratio of sailors, if it was the reverse would men be lined up around the block? I know, I should be ashamed at joking but seriously, I know plenty of women using their sea time and experience that are moving on from being deckhands to skippers and working on boats from here to the Arctic and Antarctica. I've trained deckhands into skippers who've since become coast guard unit chiefs. The first woman I worked with on a boat wasn't even allowed to help tie one up when she started in the marine industry.
  10. It certainly didn't make much difference when they were rolled into DFO. That said I'm pretty sure the Coast Guard will be happier being in the military instead.
  11. It's probably a question we should expect from you people. Look how frightened you were under Mr Socks. But no. The only danger is from peeing your pants while laughing when right-wing wackadoodles say the things they do about the left. LMAO! Does this mean even MTG couldn't keep up and has been left behind by a right-wing on its march to who the fùck knows where?
  12. National self-doubt is not a topic. There are no certificates, diplomas, or doctorates awarded to practicing 'doubtists' in the 'field' because there is no 'field'. It's a made up term for a made up grievance.
  13. I guess I got into the habit when it was used by hard-boiled conservatives talking down to the left. It's more ideological when I use it not partisan - more progressive vs conservative as opposed to right and left. These terms are all to interchangable and slippery to be used without a good grain of salt these days. I really prefer the old French Revolution definitions for the terms right and left wing - probably because I think the more relevant divide in pretty much all human societies is the one between between the government and the governed. I choose to be on the side of the governed but I also think too many people choose to be ungovernable. Partisanship along with nationalism only seem to lead to disaster. Especially when partisans and nationalists favour their government.
  14. What if you happen to know Dr Robert also goes by the stage name Madam Roberta at an after hours drag club downtown?
  15. Nope, I'm just pointing out the Conservatives are no better. Fisheries management was like that under these bozos too. Same old same old. There's a litter of old abandoned fishboats and plants on both coasts to prove it.
  16. It's the Bloc propping up the Liberals, not to mention Conservative floor-crossers. What's left of the NDP is actually what's still preventing the Liberals from having a majority. You're welcome btw.
  17. Of course you will, you're a nationalist. The exact opposite of a globalist. ...he said while embracing globalization anyway. LMAO!
  18. You sound like you're dying to be annexed. Well it was organic. I think it might have had quinoa in it. They even use that for pizza's around here.
  19. Well don't look at me. I voted for the orange marmalade.
  20. You must mean globalism because real conservatives love globalization. See, you just can't help yourself can you? I have a spare Che T-shirt and beret you can have. It's a genuine French merino wool Basque-style. You'll have to earn the little embroidered Star on the front though.
  21. Sure they're bozos but I'm talking about you folks who subscribe to conspiracies about space lasers, COVID authoritarianism, MSM mind control, white replacement theory and don't forget WEF's plan to drain conservatives of all their precious bodily fluids.
  22. He's the only politician I've ever heard talk about lobbyists like that, it resonated with my long standing belief that in-camera lobbying is toxic to our governance. And then he just kept on meeting with lobbyists as if he'd never said it. You bizarrely argued he had no choice. LMAO! He didn't have to keep meeting them. No, not one of them are okay in my book. I do not support any of them being lobbied in-camera. You're talking to an entirely fictitious caricature of me that you've invented to argue against. This is what what fascinates me about hard-boiled right-wingers. How they can do this with such a straight face. And now you'll argue I must simply be lying because you just know somehow. Hence the biggest reason I vote strategically, to prevent any politician from having a majority. It's really the only line of defence a voter has in a FPTP system that is completely subservient to politicians and most convenient to lobbyists. I'm not a partisan you see. Can you take your bag off long enough to see that or will your head explode if you do? Things don't make sense to you because you're so determined to hang on to your illusions about me.
