It's a mix of both really. In any case it's not going anywhere, it'll always be there to trade with.

Because you started down the same road Numbnuts did, you attributed a bunch of nonsensical hooey to the government's motivations. I'm not, I'm talking to to you. LMAO! There you go again. It's you trying to tell me the government is doing this. The court said the government can't be arbitrary or irrational when it comes to suspending people's rights. Its saying come up with more focussed rational justifications. I'm surprised you're not reading something even more insidious into that - activist left-wing courts telling the government it needs more ironclad justifications for becoming authoritarian. And the Theremin played on...

So it was an emergency and they didn't have time to be gentle about it. But despite having plenty of time in hindsight you come up with some cockamamie notion the government availed themselves with the opportunity to make itself more authoritarian. I think governments have a certain natural urge to be over cautious but it's more like being a helicopter parent than a dictator. I was telling Numbnuts to stop being disingenuous. And on that note you can too. The ruling didn't say a thing about the justification for the ban simply that its implementation was arbitrary and irrational. It certainly didn't say governments can use any old excuse they like to justify emergency powers so they can become more powerful. Thankfully the system works because it's self-correcting this way.

Regulations are choking Canada's economy

Don Cherry aimed his comment at immigrants. They all have their factions I suppose - meanwhile if you people regarded yourselves as a race would you say its at the pinnacle? -

How do you pay for health care?

No problem here. I know my experience is often derided as to anecdotal but...a month ago the angiogram they said I might get this fall was performed last Monday at 7 am. I got the call the end of Thursday before and asked if I could get a blood test and chest X-ray the next day. Bada bing badda boom and....you gotta love a small town hospital where everyone knows you. The angiogram confirmed the alien is still firmly lodged in there but everything else looked great. No blockages whatsoever, no needs for stents, balloons or bypass surgery. Just snuff the alien. Without, you know, getting sulphuric acid everywhere. -

No doubt unleashing big corporations would allow them to make trillions. Clear cutting regulations sounds easy but you'd also have to get the RCMP to act against protestors the way ICE does. Canada just doesn't have the stomach for that. -

In ten years fossil fuels will be getting pushed out of the way by alternatives. We'll be years late and a trillion short. The time to start making hay from oil and gas was 50 years ago. We'd probably have a huge sovereign fund for the trillion we need to launch into alternatives and start making hay from them. -

As usual with you people you use the words Liberal and liberal so it's hard to know the specific's of your grievance - whether they're ideological or partisan. Lefty usually works but according to you guys Carney is a lefty and the NDP are Liberals so... you're always kind of all over the map I'm afraid. -
There's just so much garbage. I get the fireplace channel I guess. I make a little ritual out of mine, preparing the fire lighting it, hearing the snap crackle and pop, watching it's glow thru the glass door, warming up by it. As for everything else on TV? I feel like chucking my controller at it.

I took mine at 60. I have a medical condition that might shorten my life and the length of time I get to enjoy the fruits of my labour so it made sense to start collecting it. I'm still working, earning more than ever and contributing so...it works for me.

FΓΉck off, you know exactly what it means. Yeah? I blame the general public's increasing stupidity on you people who think you know everything. And yet they've done away with a biogeoclimatic designation that lowers thousands of people to the same common level of dummies everywhere. It can be soaking wet and only 17-18 degrees but no fires allowed.

All governments everywhere are committed to maintaining a certain level of heightened threat level these days. There's a color coded matrix of triggers for everything from terrorism to wildfires and waves on public beaches. The Fraser Institute probably even has them for tax regimes and we've all seen what rainbows do to you people. It's pretty clear that's what the court ruling was suggesting when it discussed the arbitrariness of the ban. The woods are shut down and camp fire bans are common hereabouts due to hot dry conditions. I don't recall them not occuring together the last few years, not since they got rid of the Fog Zone designation that allowed camp fires within a couple of kms of the shoreline. They took that away too though. It sucks that everything needs to be brought down to the lowest common dummy but there's just so many dummies now it's almost an emergency. Which brings us back to the point of supporting governments acting in the case of one on occassion.

Zionists did the same thing following Dier Yassin. Israel has pictures but won't release them citing public relations issues. In either case it's secularists you need to get together to sort this out. It's the same next door in Israel. Not many like you say... First orget them and focus on the secularists...I realize they're almost always the lefties and if you're unwilling to put that aside this conflict will probably remain a forever war.
