What is the matter with people! My Mrs. and I had kids(3) when we felt we could afford them and give them the upbringing and nurturing we thought our little charges would deserve. We turned down the baby bonus because we did not want the state thinking that they had some claim on the kids, My Mrs. did not go on maternity leave or collect Unemployment insurance either. I worked my dog off making sure we had the necessities of life. We never had the big fancy house, just an old farmhouse that we still live in ,and the kids are all grown and gone, and we never bought a new car. We wanted quality time with our kids and we never wanted a stranger caring for them in those formidable years. We lived within our means. If your going to have kids bloody well raise them. If you want a big house and new cars don`t have kids. Parenting is a full time job. It is sacrifice and if your not willing to sacrifice don`t have the little darlings. My son had a child ,who is now a year and a half. I asked him if his wife planned to go back to work. No says he. I want my child raised the way I was.He will never come home to an empty house. I sure am proud of that statement. Oh yes ,we created two successful business`while raising that family. If your going to have kids raise the darlings ,don`t expect me or my kids to pay your freight. Why should we have to do without so others can live the high life. Take ownership of your family.

May I suggest that these are not hunters. But punks with unregistered long guns.If they were shooting up my neighbourhood I am pretty sure the swat team would be there pretty darn quick!

The Monarchy is part of our history. That can not be denied. Canada has forsaken much of it`s history already since Trudeau.A country must retain it`s history and we have had a very exciting history and our military history has shown we punch above our weight. Our military is steeped in the Monarchy. Just look at the names of our famous regiments. Are we to throw all that out? Do we want to rid ourselves of the Princess Pats and rename it The Chrieten Liberal light infantry? Rid ourselves of the Royal 22 and name it the Rene Leveque smokers club? Do we want to rename the Queens Own Rifles the Mayor Miller Snow Shovellers? The Black Watch to the Multiculural Maybe Canadians? No my friends ,lets keep our history and our constitutional Monarchy.Lest we forget all those who chose to defend this country and lie under foreign soil in France ,Belgium, Hong Kong etc around the world. God Save the Queen..

Yes ,but life time soldiers earn their medals by duty to our nation, sometimes in harms way and some awful places that we send them too. Also Senior Officers are steeped in history regarding the Monarchy.

Shatner has a lot of class. To bad it`s all third! MacKenzie and Hillier are to honest and blunt . General Herb Pitts and his wife Marianne would be perfect. Intelligent! Honest as the day is long. A real 1st. class couple who would bring honour to the position with a military past and although retired are still involved with our young soldiers. I spent this week end at a military reunion and was honoured to sit and eat breakfast with this elderly , intelligent,warm and hospitable couple from the west. I have been to other events involving this class General and he would be perfect for the job.

Your right! Since it was an Ontario Judge and Crown ,does that mean your talking about this Liberal government here in Ontario as his friends in high places. Look this kid Jaffer has either taken stupid pills or or he just might have done something criminal. I certainly don`t know. I am inclined to not believe him. If he has ruined his wifes career by leading her astray I really will have stronger words for him. But that is not proven as yet that she did anything deliberately that was unethical. Stupid maybe!But there is more to come. Even if she should get the nomination in the next election from her conservative riding ,Harper can refuse to sign her nomination papers as he will likely do. Right or wrong! She is toxic material politically.

My old army buds and I used to go to the range and scare the heck out of targets with every known small arms known to man in the last hundred years.Yes ,even AK47`s! Nobody ever got hurt ,wounded or maimed. Non of us ever became criminals or used a fire arm for intimidating our fellow man. Why I wonder? Those who are inclined to use a fire arm in the hope of doing dastardly deeds will get a fire arm no matter a registry. I don`t own a gun ,but friends and neighbours do. Who cares! Now about this owning children. The state has a right given to them by society at large to protect children from parental abuse. But the question is what is abuse? Is it a well thought out slap on the bum? Is it denying a child the right to dictate bed time? Or what they want to wear?When they can come and go? To me my children when born were not the property of the state. They were little sweet charges given to us by God to nurture ,love and guide to adult hood. We were so firm in this thinking I caused my self a lot of grief because I would not sign to receive the baby bonus. My wife would not apply for Unemployment because this was our responsibility in the first pregnancy, and she never went back to work such was the great responsibilty we had under taken. Not the states responsibility! Ours and ours alone! I sure did abuse my kids. We had rules in our house. No swearing and that stands today.Friends of theirs or ours who did were asked to leave our premises.Was that abuse? To me parenting is living by example. The sex talk came at puberty from either my Mrs. or me depending on gender. My kids grew up straight and strong individuals. They all live within two minutes of us. We get stuck baby sitting a lot. Oh my! What a burden!LOL! My kids and their spouses know what is expected of them as parents. Just like the vast majority of parents out there. They know the the great responsibility they have taken on by procreating. They don`t need the state to guide them. They don`t need the school to teach sex education. They have been given a template on parenting by us as their parents. If we were good parents kids will emulate us or if bad parents they will do the opposite. When abuse is seen ,I mean real abuse. Not because some youngster reports they had there bum slightly tanned as a last resort in discipline. What I consider abuse is a school system that undermines parents, and their responsibilities .Sex education being one of them being taught by teachers who may or not be qualified. But no matter how good a parent one may strive to be. Peer pressure as a child grows will dictate a great deal of their morals and actions at any given point in time. If there is abuse in society I believe the teachers have it right under their noses and are not able to handle it.At the moment they don`t have the tools. It is called the bully!Right in the school. This is the greatest challenge our kids face on a daily basis once they are seen to be weak. The bully scoffs at the rules knowing first hand that nothing will happen to them .The victim will run the gauntlet day after day. But a weak kneed system and principals will not protect him or her from the thugs in their midst.Now thats abuse. It also is why we have mental break downs and suicides. Lets strive to eliminate bullying. A lot more important than degenerate sex education in grade three.

Where did I say homosexual and pedophile were the same thing? I deliberately separated the two. Pedophiles can be either straight or homosexual or just pedophile predators on any child regardless of sex. In any case I do not want any of these people teaching my grand children their prejudices . Where did I ever say that kids will not have sex? I may be old but I sure remember the healthy curiosity I had towards Gals . But it certainly was not a priority at eight years old. I wanted to score goals in a net ,not on the wee beauty two desks up. There has been a movement for years to have the age of consent lowered . This group is called men loving boys. They are homosexual pedophiles and they have have a driven agenda. Most homosexuals would distance themselves from this group of course ,but I certainly do not want their influence ,that this is normal behaviour in our class rooms and developing minds. Eight year olds are not ready for this message.

Yes the vast majority of teachers will. On the most part they are very good people. But that still will not stop the pedophile or homosexual teacher from putting their obvious slant on things. Meanwhile it seems the pressure has hit home on the Premier. He just might have seen the light. OK little ones back to learning how to ride that bike, your times tables and have sweet dreams.

Not quite that old and I certainly have been a student of people for a long time. No matter what you teach in life ,school teacher,tradesmen,soldier, one can not help but teach with a slant to ones own prejudices. Example. I have a mechanic who works for me. He has an apprentice under him. He does a great job of teaching his apprentice about all he needs to know about repairing a persons car. But he also teaches ethics. He wants his charge to understand that people work hard for their money and we must always be honest and some times even sit a customer down and tell them they will have to spend more money to fix the vehicle than it is worth. Time to use the silver bullet. Then if the customer still wants the work done and OK`s the estimate do you proceed. Do you see what I mean about teaching. You can`t help put your own slant on a subject and influence your charges.

No I don`t!I don`t think it is OK!

Teachers are not qualified to teach my grand children about sex. Any teacher no matter the subject has their own ideas and leanings. I don`t want homosexuals or pedophile teachers turning young minds that what they believe is OK. I remember during the Mike Harris days teachers were spending their time teaching kids about how bad Michael Harris was. They had no right to do that in our class rooms. My daughter was convinced by the teacher to take time off school to protest the Harris government. Of course I went to the school to see if I could talk to the kids from another perspective. Nope!Was the answer from the teacher wearing an anti Harris button on his chest. Teachers can not teach some subjects that enter into the emotional realm . At least not in grade three. Let the kids ride their bikes, shoot pucks at the garage door ,explore the woods, fish in the creek and then do some home work then dream sweet dreams not cluttered with emotions if their homosexual or not...

Thanks for the support ,but you know I could not make my other neighbours suffer.

But the final question is, does it save lives? Has it prevented crime? Does it not finance itself? Does it keep guns off our streets? If the answer is no ,then scrap the darn thing and let legal gun and rifle owners get on with their lives and enjoyment of their property.

Well in retaliation I have considered buying a great speaker system outside and start with revelry at seven am! Then followed by some good marching music.

Thank you Lukin! Now here is a teacher,who agrees with me. I taught my boys about sex and respect for the girls and women. There is more to the act of sex than just the physical act. There is emotions,especially with adolescent girls. I was not a goody two shoes either. I was a tough hard man. But my kids have never heard me raise my voice in anger to their Mother to this day and they are all grown with kids of their own.I think that teaching about sex is respect for your fellow human being. I fear that will not happen. Thanks again Lukin for your wise words . Yes their are some good teachers but not all are qualified and some come with their own agendas. how can they help it ? They are human.

Thats your answer to an old guys problem! Right now I can threaten to call the cops . But if it becomes legal then I will have no recourse. What really bothers me is the guy next door is a real nice guy until his pals show up. Then between the loud music and the breeze in the right direction my wife and I must retreat into the house and miss a nice evening on our deck. Funny how my rights mean nothing now that I am reaching ancient. There was a time when I could deal with thugish behaviour if it came to it. Now I have to take it.I guess thats the price for getting old.

But no one addressed my concern about having the stuff wafting over my hedge into my living room! Never mind the filthy language that seems to be part of getting high. If others have rights to smoke the weed ,I insist that I have a right to not be inconvenienced by it.But then I am just the old guy ! Who cares! His kind will be gone soon.

My problem is I want the little ones to be care free as long as possible and believe in tooth Fairies and Santa. i don`t think teachers who are not very good at teaching the three Rs these days are qualified to teach sex. We have gone from tolerant of our differences to you must agree completely with others life styles or your not normal!

My problem with legalization is the blow it in my face crowd.Even now while it is still against the law I have a neighbour and his friends who inflicts it upon me and mine as it wafts over my hedge. What will it be like after it is not against the law? I tried back in the sixties once and I preferred a cold beer. I still can`t figure out what is wrong with reality!
