In Israel, they talk about it in their own press. only here is the fanatical, unquestioning support so strong, that reality has to be denied.

yah, obama is full of baloney, since the US is behind the coup. What with two school of american graduates working the coup. Also Obama did not formally condemn the coup and is still sending aid money to the Honduran government, that means the one that conducted the coup all in all nothing new in US policy the US conducted a similar coup in Haiti, under Bush. nothing new under the sun oh and for bush/cheney yah, canada helped with that one

The Left's Attempted Monopoly on "good"
kuzadd replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
thanks for making my point, more war for humanitarian reasons. Oh but that was Clinton's gig. An interesting point, so suckers on both sides of the right vs left buy into the war for humanitarian reasons depending on wether there is a perceived right or perceived left leader in charge. Yah, I gotta agree with that, suckers all around! -
The Left's Attempted Monopoly on "good"
kuzadd replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
and still Bonam ignores what is inconvenient, the attack on Iraq was dubbed "operation Iraqi freedom" and was supported broadly by those who associate with the right. Who wanted to "free" Iraqis. Thusly humanitarian warfare. -
Grits, Tories battle for Jewish support in next election
kuzadd replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is utter nonsense. One of my parents immigrated to this country, and my parent never voted in Canada once becoming a citizen based on what was going on in the country of birth. Nor interestingly did political parties specifically pander to this ethnic group based on what was going on in the homeland, real or otherwise. Opening a can of worms here, interests in other nations domestic policies are not Canada's election issues. -

Grits, Tories battle for Jewish support in next election
kuzadd replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The main thing in a CANADIAN election is to support the people of Canada, canadian concerns, canadian health care issues, canadian job issues. CANADA, CANADA, CANADA The support of Israel is a private issue for private citizens who wish to support Israel. Ditto for any other people who have interests that lie with other nations, they are irrelevant during Canadian election time. -
Hey Dub: here it is, and I got to tell you I was shocked that CBS did this piece, it is mild, it doesn't mention Gaza at all, only focus's on the west bank as the Palestinian state, but, nonetheless, interesting piece. check it out: Is Peace Out Of Reach? showing Israeli soldiers just entering apartments and imprisoning people in their own homes, they cannot leave house, or speak to other people. give it a watch.

Reporter feels mob's hate in the Holy City
kuzadd replied to kuzadd's topic in The Rest of the World
I note the reporter stated she was careful to dress modestly, a woman needs to know her place in Israel, I guess... This is not the first attack on a woman by these religious fanatics that i have read of. In fact, when I read this I recalled this news story. Woman beaten on J'lem bus for refusing to move to rear seat A woman who reported a vicious attack by an ad-hoc "modesty patrol" on a Jerusalem bus last month is now lining up support for her case and may be included in a petition to the High Court of Justice over the legality of sex-segregated buses. Miriam Shear says she was traveling to pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City early on November 24 when a group of ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) men attacked her for refusing to move to the back of the Egged No. 2 bus. She is now in touch with several legal advocacy and women's organizations, and at the same time, waiting for the police to apprehend her attackers. In her first interview since the incident, Shear says that on the bus three weeks ago, she was slapped, kicked, punched and pushed by a group of men who demanded that she sit in the back of the bus with the other women. The bus driver, in response to a media inquiry, denied that violence was used against her, but Shear's account has been substantiated by an unrelated eyewitness on the bus who confirmed that she sustained an unprovoked "severe beating." Get to the back of the bus lady, so say the religious fanatics in Israel. Reminds me of the whack jobs here in Canada, and the US. The countries that pretend they are oh so democratic, just like Israel. -
hey dub: it was not a red cross report, it was a report put out by Amnesty International Amnesty accuses Israel of using human shields in Gaza http://blogs.reuters.com/axismundi/2009/07...he-firing-line/ there was also a report by an Israeli human rights group Gisha, condemning the blockade "One, by the Israeli human rights group Gisha, criticises Israel’s policy of banning Palestinians from leaving the Gaza strip." Dub, I am going to see if I can find an interesting little video done by CBS, I think... going on recall If I can, I will post the link

The Left's Attempted Monopoly on "good"
kuzadd replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
No, I read what you said and I will quote you again if you like. But, apparently you cannot or chose not to read how I pointed out the Bush regime sold the attack on Iraq as a humanitarian intervention. And the posters on this forum who as I stated willingly associate themselves with the right, cheered this sheer nonsense on. For goodness sakes the operation was dubbed Operation Iraqi freedom! What the hell does that say? Slaughter, blood shed and destruction for humanitarion reasons. LOL " Trumpeting the humanitarian aspects of potential improvements in a society after you have toppled its regime and replaced it with a presumably "freer" one" No one who is aware of the reality of why wars are waged would even say that in any serious way, knowing full well it is pure bullshit. Like I said, war for humanitarian reasons, seems to be swallowed up by those willingly on the right and is about the strangest form of intervention I have ever seen. -
Dub: is this the report, or was it another one, that also stated Hamas did NOT use human shields and in fact the evidence of using Palestinians at human shields, pointed to Israel using them as human shields Yes, Israel using Palestinians, as human shields. And not for the first time I may add.

let's see, how many apologists does it take to excuse this one, and change the subject. How much reality can the apologists deny? The ABC's Middle East correspondent Anne Barker became caught in violent street protests involving ultra-Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem at the weekend. This is her graphic account of her ordeal. I was mindful I would need to dress conservatively and keep out of harm's way. But I made my mistake when I parked the car and started walking towards the protest, not fully sure which street was which (dress conservatively and stay out of the way, oh yeah, ultra religious freaks, right) By the time I realised I'd come up the wrong street it was too late. I suddenly found myself in the thick of the protest - in the midst of hundreds of ultra-Orthodox Jews in their long coats and sable-fur hats. They might be supremely religious, but their behaviour - to me - was far from charitable or benevolent. As the protest became noisier and the crowd began yelling, I took my recorder and microphone out of my bag to record the sound. Suddenly the crowd turned on me, screaming in my face. Dozens of angry men began spitting on me. Spit like rain I found myself herded against a brick wall as they kept on spitting - on my face, my hair, my clothes, my arms. It was like rain, coming at me from all directions - hitting my recorder, my bag, my shoes, even my glasses. Big gobs of spit landed on me like heavy raindrops. I could even smell it as it fell on my face. read the rest at the link

Hmm, rather amazing isn't it? An article about problems, serious problems within Israel, as written by someone who lives there. It all becomes about Muslims???? Strange. Out of touch with reality completely and wholly in denial.
-
Yes Palestinian people, lay down for the people who continue to unlawfully steal and occupy land outside of their assigned borders. Palestinians accept your oppression, cause if you don't, the state of Israel will kill you all anyway and take what is left of the land they haven't stolen. Nice article, good to see who it is agrees with colonialism, and slaughter of a people.

'Bonam' See when arabs do it, it is a sign of something wrong with them, but when Israelis do it. It is ok, just normal And vice versa, right Bonam? No that is what Israeli soldiers do at Palestinians parties, because the balloons are Palestinan? Another news story You gotta love those double standards, but back to the news story please.
-
Is that the topic? Do you have anything to say on the haaretz article? So Jews attacking other Jews in Israel is hunky dory with you then, well ok. Never mind the attacks on Arabs? The burning of bibles? Popping of balloons? More intolerance, breeds more intolerance.

The Left's Attempted Monopoly on "good"
kuzadd replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
you dunno where I got such ideas? I get them right from people like you. "trumpeting the humanitarian aspects of potential improvements" what a load of bunkum. recall the Iraq war, what was said by the bush regime and regurgitated by it's supporters, "freeing the Iraqi people" and "bringing them democracy" lol. War is waged for gain, pure and simple. The spin is to get the dupes on board. From where I sit, I see the self-identified rightists mouthing this mantra. Humanitarian warfare, waging war and slaughter for freedom and democracy. -
I am not talking political leanings, I am talking political machinations.
-
yup, they are. The criteria for war criminals is all the same, there is no differencer, wanton killing of civilians, war crime. Therefore Bush, Obama, Harper, Truman, Churchill etc., are all INDEED war criminals. What you should say, or should be said, it depending on what side of the political situation you sit, or depending on your politics. Or depending on who wins, which also comes down to playing politics. So the fact is, he is a war criminal, he fits the criteria, and the rest is bullshit.

The Left's Attempted Monopoly on "good"
kuzadd replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
First off, a disclaimer, I DO NOT buy into the left vs right crap. Cause it is just that, crap. But I will point this out to you oleg, the people on this forum who must willingly associate themselves with the "right" are the people that have one of the strangest forms of humanitariasm I have ever layed eyes on. They actually believe in war, as a humanitarian cause. They actually believe that the maiming and slaughter of swathes of humanity, the decimation of the environment is for the 'good' of someone? I am not quite sure who, but they belive it is good and right. That it is beneficial to mankind. It is strange, why those who CHOOSE to associate themselves with the right see war as a humanitarian cause. This is about the strangest version of "do-gooders" I have ever seen. Do you find that immoral? Cause I do. These same people swallow up every lie, promote genocide of other peoples and they actually believe this is all very humanitarian?? What a disconnect! -
McNamara was a war criminal, self-admitted. Only in twisted minds, is a mass murderer revered.

Israel releases former U.S. congresswoman: group
kuzadd replied to dub's topic in The Rest of the World
Had this ship been near Somalia, the screams of piracy would have been heard relentlessly. But, Israel in International waters no less, it apparently allowed to comandeer ships and kidnap the passengers? Under threat of attack! Sounds like piracy to me. It is a strange double standard.
