  1. Yes I agree, this person suing is a huge jerk. Unfortunately anyone can sue anyone. And here it acts like a tactic that also will make other politicians more fearful of speaking out about similar corruptions. It's pretty sad how corrupt our politics are. It affects our health, environment, economy, housing markets, foreign policy... everything we could imagine. It's a meta issue.
  2. Its not defamation if its true. Beto will get off. The biggest conspiracies are right in from of our eyes. Follow the money. This stuff happens regularly.
  3. Saying there's no risks in getting COVID, or no risks getting the vaccine, are both lies, and both easily disproven by mainstream science.
  4. There is a warning on the Canadian federal government website (Canada.ca) under its COVID mRNA vaccine info page that rare side effects of myocarditis/pericarditis and Bell's palsy can occur. There is also a link on the page for the Vaccine Injury Support Program. https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/vaccines/safety-side-effects.html#a5 So these side effects do happen, but its rare, otherwise we'd all be walking around having heart attacks and droopy faces given like 90% of us have been vaccinated. There is no question these vaccines have inflammatory effects, which is why your arm hurts and some people have headaches etc. after getting the vaccine, and in some rare cases is causing these more serious issues for some. Inflammation is part of the body's natural immune response that these vaccines are triggering. Apparently when getting the 2nd shot typically causes the most severe side effects. The boosters have a lower dose. It still comes down to risk/benefit analysis. Medical experts believe the risks of not getting the vaccine is riskier than getting the vaccine. Getting a bad case of COVID can damage your lungs, can produce long COVID symptoms etc, and has killed more vulnerable people. There are many people who get COVID and have no negative longterm side effects. There are also many more people who have had the COVID vaccine and have no negative longterm side effects. The risks of getting COVID or getting the COVID vaccine are in both cases not zero. But most doctors say the risks of getting COVID while not vaccinated are much greater than the risks of getting the COVID vaccine.
  5. Our health systems limit doctor and nurse salaries. Many Canadian doctors and nurses have moved to the US over the decades for better pay. This is what can happen with socialism. Their pay is determined by the government, it isn't decided by the market. In the USSR and Cuba they had to ban people from being able to freely leave the country without the government's consent because people with high ability would leave. We've all heard of Cuban athletes defecting etc. We all have seen the many eastern European hockey players come to North America after the fall of the USSR. Doctors are no different. But in Canada, they are free to leave, as they should be, but we can create incentives for them to stay (like higher pay) and disincentives for them to leave (like having to pay back some of their subsidizes university tuitions).
  6. It is but with the feds funding healthcare and education more and more (pharmacare, daycare, dental care) it means its more complicated than that, and they can blame each other when it goes wrong and when the going gets tough nobody will want to fund what needs to be funded. What is happening with the healthcare system can be compared to the Ottawa convoy. Nobody at any level of government wants to take responsibility so they are dithering and arguing and passing blame while the problem gets worse and worse at a time when leadership is desperately needed. A real leader is someone who is willing to take the hits in order to do what need to be done, instead of being scared of responsibility. It doesn't look like we have a lot of leaders in this country, just a lot of cowards more worried about polling numbers than people.
  7. Chinese people don't understand what its like to have 2 sisters (1 child policy).
  8. Do you think elementary and high schools should be able to teach racist theories and concepts? What about post-secondary, where academic freedom is paramount? Can a prof teach that Jews are controlling the economy, or teach holocaust denial? Can a high school teacher? Is it ok for kids to "feel bad" in this instance? If a high school teacher teaches holocaust denial what will happen? The principal will probably deem it offensive according to their whims, and fire the teacher. But this is based on their subjective whims, is there any policy that the teacher broke? Maybe they could say they didn't follow the curriculum, ok then who decides what can and can't be on the curriculum? How do we "police" what things can be taught and not taught to our children. Because clearly there are good and bad things students can be taught, and someone needs to decide what those are. Leaving it up to the whims of teachers, at least at the elementary/high school level, will necessarily politicize the classroom. Students now live in a society that is teaching them that merit, fairness, neutrality, objectivity, and racial colorblindedness are racist. For many decades this is what activists wanted, for oppressed groups to just be treated like everyone else, which reasonable people supported, but now that isn't enough. They want special privileges based on skin colour and sex/gender etc. to make up for past/current wrongs.
  9. Disagree. I think the issue with the law is free speech implications at post secondary level. But I also think some of those people are racist. It's odd to me that part of the left is so racist. Some people believe it's OK to be racist and sexist if it's against whites and men. This is odd. It's also odd to be made to feel bad for speaking out against that.
  10. What is stupid about it? Its super anti-racist and anti identity politics. Conservatives sound like MLK now.
  11. The target demographic for Yellowstone is this forum ?
  12. It's a logical fallacy to attack an idea based on who it belongs to.
  13. This is fantastic legislation. Bring this to Canada ASAP. Put it in the labour law too.
  14. Never said I was against it. I'm saying your claim is wrong.
  15. "You can't buy a horse, but we're not banning them".
  16. Incorrect: https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/canada-ban-sale-new-fuel-powered-cars-light-trucks-2035-2021-06-29/
  17. Hippies are fun and harmless, except when they get involved with policy. Don't worry, I love BC, except for the utopian hippie dopesmokers in government, which you don't seem to be.
  18. Glad to hear the entire province hasn't been overrun by hippies.
  19. Was that commie Pierre or Justin Trudeau? Klaus Schwab?
  20. You should move there (lots of commies). I have never voted Green (not a commie).
  21. Yeah being popular (allegedly) makes them not communist. You seem to be really upset for me calling him a commie lover for someone who isn't a commie lover. But you're right, they're communist. He's a commie, he loves commies, you love commies, you get upset for me calling him a commie lover. #CastroForever
  22. Do you vote NDP? Do you live in the hippie-commune known as British Columbia? Would you like to move to CHAZ/CHOP?
  23. Its socialism. Nothing wrong with some socialism here and there, but call a spade a spade. He's a communist sympathizer.
