  1. Problem is, again, the selfishness of our politicians. They don't bother to coordinate migration plans with provinces or municipalities who are in charge of the infrastructure. They just don't care. Only when the problems start to affect them do they care. Citizens are starting to get upset and point at the feds for lack of planning. Our PM is all about appearances and lacks depth, and this philosophy has spread
  2. The Conservatives voted down an NDP motion yesterday for a public inquiry that would have looked into all foreign interference from all foreign countries including Russia and the USA. Why?
  3. The problem with this whole scandal is that in order for Canadians to know the truth we need to dig hard into CSIS intelligence, which by its nature is difficult based on the secrecy of the Intel. But the government needs to do something to reassure Canadians our country is secure, rather than being willfully ignorant because it benefits some parties.
  4. The timing of this story is interesting. On the eve of Biden's visit.
  5. The best way to fix the housing crisis and healthcare crisis and climate crisis and inflation crisis is to increase the population. These new Canadians will be homeless and not have a family doctor. Feds don't care as long as they get the votes and the tax revenue.
  6. Just make private insurance mandatory. The cost of public healthcare is crappy healthcare?
  7. Wait, so are you pro-republic or pro-loyalist today?
  8. Its stressful when you're sitting in the ER waiting room all freakin day just to get your broken leg looked at. Its stressful when someone has serious mental health issues and is waiting months to see a psychiatrist. Its stressful when you're waiting many months for an MRI, and when you finally get one the specialist doesn't allow you to get surgery because the tendons that are ripped off your bone "just isn't serious enough".
  9. Our system is a piece of crap because when the government doesn't manage a government-paid system properly (ie: fund it enough) people suffer and sometimes die. Right now my preference is for a tightly regulated private insurance system. Regulated so ie: people can't get denied coverage based on pre-existing conditions etc., and so the rich won't have better coverage than the poor. I think this would strike a balance between the US and Canadian systems, and be better than both systems.
  10. Pinochet can't exist under a democratic system, they would get voted out. But it would be interesting to see what our politicians would do with unlimited power.
  11. Trump just took everything too far. But the philosophy of "America first" is appealing. If a reasonable politician goes up and appeals to typical working Americans (the blue collar working class midwestern states make up most of the swing states) they'll do well. Ted Cruz isn't going to inspire anyone.
  12. AOC seems like a nice person and not a tyrant. Not everyone on the left is like her. Even Trudeau isn't Pinochet, which is an extreme example, but he does behave like a tyrant.
  13. If someone goes against the advocacy of LGBT rights what does the left do to them? They don't get executed and raped, but they do get canceled, lose their jobs, and in this case are denied education by getting suspended for the rest of the school year. Its not rape, but it is intimidation and coercion. Losing your job and being denied education is pretty much the most anyone outside the government can do to someone under the law.
  14. I don't know about that last sentence, but we certainly went overboard on rejecting and replacing traditional values. Is "covering up" worse than flashing fake cleave on Instagram? Is waiting to have sex until marriage worse than getting multiple women pregnant out of wedlock, and then killing the baby in-utero?
  15. "Through democracy"? Can you quote Marx on this? I do remember he wanted a "dictatorship of the proletariat", which is I suppose is subject to interpretation, unless we take that literally.
  16. Technically true. But couldn't go to class because they were suspended for their opinions on bathroom policy and gender they were apparently debating in class, comments the school apparently considered "bully", or harassment essentially. An overreact by the school. I don't agree with the student's views, but I don't think a student should be suspended for have politically incorrect social or political opinions. This is akin to brainwashing. Schools should NOT be enforcing such opinions of students. The students who were offended had a right to be offended, but did not have a right to have their school admin protect them from being offended during a class debate. Now of course the details are important, like the exact words being said and how they were said. But the opinions themselves should not be grounds for "bullying", which is so far what it sounds like happened. He also is expressing traditionally Christian views in a Christian school board. The student has been barred from attending school for the rest of the year.
  17. If true that's pretty vile. It's amazing how often politicians and the people working for them sell their souls for power.
  18. Biden and Trudeau work for the same brand.
  19. The King of Canada is also the King of England. But only one title has any legal authority in Canada.
  20. And whose fault is this? The Chinese are just doing their jobs. The PM is not, apparently.
  21. PM didn't keep secrets in the name of the King, he did it in the name of himself. And keeping secrets is different than acting on those secrets privately to protect the interests of the King. Oh and nice job snipping your quote of the oath of allegiance to omit the "King of Canada" part.
  22. Not a traitor?? Geez even the CSIS leaker is a PC soft-language type. Call a spade a spade. If you break your oath of allegiance and act on behalf of malicious foreign government over the fundamental national security and democratic interests of the King's and his country you're a traitor. Pure and simple. This op-ed is just a psy-op to construct a case and the proper narrative the gain support for an investigation and accountability into what's happening here.
  23. You're right. He's not a Canadian. He's a Brit and an American.
