  1. Supporting protests but not the blocking of public infrastructure and other crimes? Also, race-baiting!
  2. Ok but the bridge isn't really an issue about identity, unless "trucker" is now a tribe lol.
  3. I had a friend tell me today that he notices that Doug Ford is very careful to stay clear of all identity issues like racial issues, feminism etc. It was an insightful comment when I came to think about it. Ford never says anything anti-immigrant/white nationalist etc like Trump did, and he also doesn't do the Trudeau/Biden thing of treating POC like a special class or virtue signal about feminism etc. This has worked very well for him. Maybe you don't agree with all of his politics, but he's not a divisive politician. Maybe this is what we need in our politics. Sure you can address huge unavoidable issues like racism in policing etc, but stay clear of the woke or racist/anti-feminist. Essentially just try to stay more neutral or at least reasonable. We all seemed to be much happier before when none of us were so obsessed with talking about these identity issues so much. If you react to this post with "but what about all the white supremacy?" or "but what about all those darn Muslims?" maybe you're closer to the problem than the solution.
  4. Liberal MPs aren't allowed to voice their own thoughts or those in the interests of their constituents, they are forced to parrot whatever their leader wants. This guy's job is now in jeopardy. If anything is "a threat to our democracy" its that nonsense. Imagine living in a democracy where your MP is forced to STFU.
  5. Links? I thought he refused to use the provincial police to help Ottawa police.
  6. Honk if you're horny.
  7. New idea: round up all old people that want to be safe and put them in a special quarantine zone so everyone else can go back to normal. Do it for the children.
  8. No I do remember the thread but not its contents.
  9. Section 8 of the Charter. The same reason police can't enter your home to search without a warrant.
  10. The legal thing to do would be to get a warrant if they want to track terrorist or other criminals. The illegal thing to do is treat everyone as a potential criminal and infringe on their charter rights.
  11. Doesn't matter your politics. There's something beautiful about seeing the police and government being afraid of regular citizens, including our MIA Prime Minister.
  12. By convention this is only done in extreme circumstances, for good reason. It's anti-democratic so the GG defers to the House which is directly elected by the people, unlike the GG/crown.
  13. Sure next hopefully they will start listening to us through the mics on our phones and watch us through our phone and laptop cameras and access our fingerprint data on our devices too.
  14. Yup they all ran to the hills just like their brothers in France.
  15. Causes: 1. Major demographic (racial, cultural) shifts in the west leading to many trying to destroy the old white hegemony in our politics and culture. 2. People generally tired of the neoliberal economic squeeze. 3. Social media giving a voice to new people.
  16. Best way to beat Trudeau is to present a reasonable alternative, not squawk like a bunch of loons and make a MAGA-head your interim leader.
  17. Pierre would have been about 20 years old in 1939. I'm glad my family members risked their lives for this country and our allies in ww2 while rich kid Pierre had his face in a book. True patriot just like his son.
  18. What good is having a charter of rights when the government can poo on it whenever it feels like?
  19. Don't worry, these truckers will pay for their crimes. The Trudeau gov admits to secretly tracking our cellphone locations throughout the pandemic after all and is still doing so: https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadas-public-health-agency-admits-it-tracked-33-million-mobile-devices-during-lockdown Here I thought freedom from government search and seizure was guaranteed in the Charter Justin's daddy brought it.
  20. Most Canadians will do whatever the government tells them. A country filled with submissive betas who easily roll on their backs wanting their bellies rubbed. The US gained its independence in 1776 and Canada gained its independence in 1982. That's no coincidence. This is a country where not long ago people were being fined for going for walks outside in a public park.
  21. If these were BLM protestors would the city dare touch them or speak out, or join it?
