  1. Millions in foreign funds spent in 2015 federal election to defeat Harper government, says a report.

Could be illegal, should be..   can't imagine anyone who thinks it's fine for foreign interests to buy an election.  There should be a Senate and House hearing

  2. I don't care how much court time it would've 'wasted' it would be worth it. The S.C. concluded that ordering the gov't to ask the U.S. for Khadr's repatriation would interfere with the govt's jurisdiction over foreign relations - so what. He was repatriated, that's all that was necessary. Trudeau's brand is ruined and rightly so; his legacy will be that of a PM paying off a terrorist who more than likely has Canadian blood on his hands. This is a the biggest blunder ever done by a PM which fortunately for Canada could be the end of his and the Liberals reign.
  3. You are imputing words that were not said. No one is against the charter, the court ruling said nothing about payment, it never ordered a multi-million payout, or any money for that matter. Trudeau did indeed have a choice, but as we know, it would be very inconvenient for the Liberals to acknowledge that the court left it to a gov't to determine the appropriate compensation. In fact, a lower-court ruling did say that he appropriate compensation would be repatriation - which the previous gov't acknowledged and acted on. Not only is Trudeau and his followers deflecting blame but they are pretending to care about saving money when their secretive, un-parliamentary actions have been nothing but spending billions outside Canada along with making a terrorist a multi millionaire. We don't know how much it would cost to pursue it in court, but unless they hired outside lawyers it wouldn't cost us anything more than the payroll; even if it did, it would be worth it. Trudeau has made a huge error in judgement which he will and should pay for.
  4. I was referring to your calling a thread boring
  5. I'm surprised that a member here can call another member a 'sorely disjointed mess of claptrap' Can't post a link for someone but can sure call names...
  6. I found it weird that a moderator was actually trolling a poster, I don't think I've seen such weird moderating anywhere else.
  7. No wonder people are leaving the forum. I remember how active and fairly well balanced it was many years ago.
  8. Trudeau wouldn't like it because it would be 'hate speech', he's two faced to say the least when he talks about women's rights and equality.
  9. Well, there's still some moderation. I just got a warning point for giving a guy a link because he forgot to put it in his post. Thought I was doing the right thing... Maybe we should have a contest to see who can get the most warning points. After all, we have been told they are meaningless, just ignore them.
  10.  So someone wants the forum to burn yet deletes comments asking why he still posts if he doesn't like it.   very strange

May 16, 2016, scribblet tries to say that electric cars cause just as many pollutants as regular cars. I correct him to say that he's referring to a study that was talking about non-exhaust pollutants. scribblet promptly deletes my correction.  Very cowardly indeed.

  11. I guess it's racist because they wanted to be historically accurate.
  12. Right it is, and I doubt that our current gov't would stand up to the type of Islamic demands they are getting elsewhere e.g. An Australian Muslim psychologist is calling for Australia to introduce special laws for followers of Islam. She believes Sharia law should be applied in Australia and anyone who disagrees is a bigot. Canada doesn't have the demographics yet but eventually we will, then watch out for the demands.
  13. I like it too for the most part but I do agree about someone continually cluttering threads with nutwing conspiracy theories but the worst part is the name calling. I don't know why people give him the time of day or respond to anything. Ignore is best IMO.
  14. I'm waiting for some media outlet to dig out the secret stuff, FOI maybe. I'd like to know how much of this was strictly Trudeau and if the Cabinet had any part of it. I find it amazing that they managed to keep the deal secret for so long which tells me only a few select people where in on it... Trudeau and Goodale maybe - who else?
  15. Definition of a racist: Anyone disagreeing with a liberal or on the winning end of an argument with a liberal.
  16. So in a legal case such as this, does the gov't hire additional lawyers, do they not use their own lawyers.
  17. Try some thread drift, that deserves more attention than the jokers and clowns do.
  18. This place has deteriorated into continual insults & name calling by one member in particular.   A shame to see this forum go down like this.

  20. As far as I'm concerned this says it well and better than I can. BTW, don't forget that S.C. actually overturned rulings which required that the Harper gov't. should try to repatriate Khadr because they said.this would have interfered with its right to set foreign policy. http://www.torontosun.com/2017/07/07/trudeau-treating-khadr-with-kid-gloves Khadr defected to al-Qaida, built bombs and was convicted of throwing the grenade that killed Sgt. Christopher Speer and maimed Sgt. Layne Morris. Before Khadr was transferred to Guantanamo Bay, before he was subject to enhanced interrogation by American officials, Khadr doubled down on his terrorism. In a statement of facts signed by Khadr in 2002, he said he threw the grenade “with the specific intent of killing or injuring as many Americans as he could.” When he was interviewed three months later, Khadr said he “felt happy when he heard he had killed an American,” and just thinking about it made him “feel good.” Khadr doesn’t deserve an apology. Canada should not treat traitors and enemies the same way we treat loyal citizens.
  21. Surely you jest..
  22. The court did not find any financial liability, they did not have to pay him anything. Khadr was no 'child' soldier especially under his own religion, neither was he tortured for 10 years. It is completely reprehensible that our PM should expedite a cheque in such a hurry in order that they could obstruct a court case, deliberately denying the widow justice. The whole thing stinks and IMO Trudeau should resign in part because of the way this was done. This is one of the most underhanded backroom deals the Liberals have ever done, and that's going some. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/khadr-wasnt-tortured-military-judge-rules/article1214912/
  23. By George - I think you've got it.
