Conservatives are big on defending their own with force. Now that illegal protests are taking food off of the table of Canadians, I think it is time to take a page from their playbook and show up at the borders and to confront the conspiracy theorists with, made in Canada, KR3 bats.

I never heard anymore about it but apparently a convoy with a military vehicle, broke through a police barricade. I can't remember where it was supposed to have happened. This was on mainstream streaming news.
-
Lol - this is what happens when lockdown rain on free people. They crave to have a party!
-
I love that while opening for Pope Franky, Shakira sang the lyrics.... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace..

The Saudis are out beheading ISIS by a two to one margin this year. Good thing we're allies...

@ WIP - It's not just harper. All major political parties in all major countries consider Saudi Arabia our precious ally...
-
It takes 20 years to replace vehicle fleets, less if autonomous cars reduce ownership need, but shifting the energy supply from oil to electric will erase the need for a deal with the devil.
-
Don't want the Conservatives dealing with the Saudis (175 executed 2015)? Why did you protest their break with Iran (700 executed 2015)?

Harper Pension - $6M, Vet Pension - $0, Avg Vet 1 time, lump sum payment $42,000. Cost of the 1hr speech for Gretzky to endorse Harper: $50,000

-
He doesn't need the money...so it's a nice PR move. The problem is that under his watch the avg disabled vet receives less for their entire remaining life than the CPC paid Gretzky for 1 hour. If we are going to send our troops into battle we have to look after them when they return...but Harper chose to balance the books on their injured and broken backs.
-
The present veterans charter was passed by a Liberal government with unanimous approval from all parties. The main problem with it seems to be that disabled pensions stop at age 65 and many disabled did not have a least 10 years service to receive some kind of regular pension after that age. Blame Harper for not changing it if you want but his government didn't write the legislation.
-
Exactly! As far as Harper's pensions goes, it will be the same as any MP who is still around after this election. The new rules and changes will apply to the PM just the same.
-
Harper 1 promised things Canadians need. 2. Spent loads of taxpayer funds on ads telling us how wonderful he is for promising things we need. 3. Didn't actually provide what he promised to create the illusion of a balanced budget. We deserve better!
-
Stephen Harper has demonstrated the fastest way for the unethical to improve their image, LIE! When a big gamble on one commodity doesn't pay off and balancing the books seems impossible...just lie! Lie about spending billions on our vets and infrastructure while secretly withholding the funds. Harpernomics, you can't make this shyte up...oh wait, yes he can.

Ontario has a manufacturing sector? I thought the provincial Liberals killed that off long ago
-
Mighty AC is always good for a chuckle. HAHAHA
-
They did, but it was for the best. We're more sustainable and were not damaging the earth as much.
-
Harper has created the illusion of a surplus by secretly clawing back budgeted funds. We have veterans who can't get the help they need, yet the CPC denied them over a billion dollars in budgeted, approved and advertised funds. Disgusting!

Budgeting for something then coming back with unspent budgeted money is Great ! for businesses...but smacks of deceit for governments. Look! we're gonna spend X zillions on Y. Aren't we wonderful? Oh look we didn't spend what we said we would. Aren't we wonderful?
-
Exactly... Even during this campaign, Harper has boasted about spending X amount of budgeted funds on Veterans affairs, even though over a billion was clawed back. He's trying to play it both ways.
-
Peter F, that's exactly what's happening. It's very deceitful playing it both ways. This past year they've over-promised then under-delivered to hit surplus...on purpose so they can wave around talking points before the election. They're playing politics with people's services and jobs.

Study suggests that not all liberals are geniuses and all conservatives are ignorant. The idea is that for those who lack a cognitive ability to grasp complexities of our world, strict-right wing ideologies may be more appealing. Dr. Brian Nosek explained it for the Huffington Post as follows, “ideologies get rid of the messiness and impose a simple solution. So, it may not be surprising that people with less cognitive capacity will be attracted to simplifying ideologies.”

Find another American study...LOL

Nothing wrong with American studies...

Education is run by left wingers. It's almost impossible to get a teaching job as a conservative. University in Canada teaches that the west is evil. All white people are basically racist colonialists. Crack open any modern sociology, history or political science book. It's all right there. If education was more balanced this wouldn't be the case.
-
Voting Conservative is NOT the Christian thing to do. Oh oh, CPC...it seems the abortion and homosexual issues are loosing their hold on Christian populations in Canada. http://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2015/09/08/voting-conservative-not-the-christian-thing-to-do.html

If there's any source to tell us what the Christian/Conservative thing to do is, it's the Star! LOL!
-
You don't think Michael Coren is Christian enough?
-
It's more conservative than voting for liberals. By definition.

On top of the corruption, attacks on democracy and our veterans, remember Harper's war on information and evidence. Harper killed the Long Form Census and lied about the head of Stats Can recommending the action, prompting him to resign in protest. He also muzzled scientists, ended world class research projects and literally burned science libraries. When the facts don't support his ideology, Harper burries the evidence.
-
don't forget all the kittens he has eaten
-
If he was a good leader for this country, I wouldn't care if Harper liked to eat baby cows or baby cats. His attacks on science, information, the environment, democracy, transparency, accountability and of course our veterans, while simultaneously sporting a brutal economic track record make him one of the worst PMs in history. Supporting Harper just encourages corrupt leadership from all parties going forward. We deserve better.
-
-
Remember when Harper broke his promise to cut $1.4 billion in oil subsidies? No? Neither did he, oil co's still get assistance. Instead he cut over $1B from childcare subsidies. We deserve better than Harper!

You actually LOL at the fact a baby dies every 8 seconds due to water born disease? That's really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
-
lol..this from the left who denies gmo food to prevent starvation cause it's "dangerous"
-
GMO's aren't really a left issue, more of a hangup for the hardcore granola crowd. I have no problem with GMO safety, though there are issues with the fact that GM crops are often used to tie growers into certain pesticides not increase yields, nutrition, etc. Still, I'm not sure how that makes it acceptable to deny Canadians access to clean drinking water.
-
Remember when Harper spent over a billion dollars to host the G20, something other nations do for millions? That even was complete with a fake lake and gazebos built in a swing riding out of a border security fund. That event also lead to the largest mass arrest in Canadian history. Money well spent, eh cons? http://static0.therichestimages.com/cdn/864/864/90/cw/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/G20.jpg

enemies of the state, hey drummer?

Mass arrest of people on their way home, TO police up on charges for unlawful detainment. Priceless.

At least Obama has something to brag about.

I love how Shady et al. can't defend Harper's embarrassing record so they lash out...with nothing but "You guys are lunatics.." or "But, but..other guys did bad stuff too..." =) lol

lol..you can see the irony MAC with the lefts constant..but, the libs comment every time one of your scandals or ridiculousness if brought to light by facts.

Defending Harper by citing other corrupt or bad Prime Ministers from the past is a ridiculous act. Canadians must toss corrupt, unaccountable autocrats out, regardless of their party. Right now, Harper has to go so that we can work towards honest, accountable, effective government. Supporting the corrupt, like Harper just encourages the illegal and anti-democratic practices he has become famous for.

What I thought. No cite of Stephen being corrupt.

You've missed the Duffy trial so far I'm guessing?

Again, no cite of Stephen being corrupt.

“You’ve gotta respect everyone’s beliefs.” No, you don’t. That’s what gets us in trouble. You have to acknowledge everyone’s beliefs, then you have to reserve the right to go: “That is effn' stupid. Are you kidding me?” I acknowledge that you believe that, that’s great, but I’m not going to respect it. I have an uncle that believes he saw Sasquatch. We do not believe him, nor do we respect him!” - Patton Oswalt

Bad timing: how Canada’s prime minister walked into his own electoral trap Here’s a tip. If you’re running a hard-right government with a tyrannical sense of mission, don’t pass a law mandating US-style fixed-date elections. For you are Father Time’s plaything. It will bat you like a cat toy. Stephen Harper, passed just such a law and so was forced to call an autumn election. And on Tuesday, Canada entered a recession, the only G7 nation to do so.

Partisan "U.S. style" labeling is OK, but not election dates ?

That article...so full of...that stuff.

You know how Harper tries to pass off his massive cuts to environmental protection as simply reducing red tape? Well as it turns out that is a lie. Very few building projects around and over water now require environmental assessment. Water quality is in decline and fish habitats are suffering. Is anyone actually surprised? http://www.vancouversun.com/technology/story.html?id=11332148

Isn't environmental oversight of most lakes and rivers a provincial responsibility?
-
All the lakes and rivers will be protected by those acts: the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, the Species at Risk Act, and the Fisheries Act but not by 1882 old Navigable Water Protection Act which required approval for any works that may affect navigation on navigable waters in Canada (with the exception of 159 lakes/rivers and 3 oceans).
-
Funny how the 27 legacy rivers still protected are all in CPC ridings eh?

"In 2010, less-educated native-born men age 18-39 had an incarceration rate of 10.7 percent—more than triple the 2.8 percent rate among foreign-born Mexican men, and five times greater than the 1.7 percent rate among foreign-born Salvadoran and Guatemalan men." - hmmm, maybe Trump should consider sending all those rapey, criminal native American men to Mexico.
-
PM Harper has a great disrspect for the rule of law. I think even CPC members would agree that we can't have lawmakers that place personal ambition and ideology ahead of the law. This is a great read about Harper's concentration of power within the PMO and his disdain for the judiciary. http://www.nationalobserver.com/2015/08/31/opinion/harpers-war-law

I doubt it, but Harper has certainly consolidated power within his office and struggled with following laws and our constitution.
-
Luckily we have the SCC to protect our rights.

So why not just have the courts run the country? Seems we cannot make any decision unless tge courts tell you it's ok to have a certain opinion.

If You Care About Veterans, Defeat The Conservatives: http://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2015/08/31/if-you-care-about-veterans-defeat-the-conservatives.html

"Two billion dollar budget cut to the Canadian armed Forces during a time when we are in battle. I can understand budget cuts in order to balance the books, but giving 53 Billion Dollars tax cuts to the most profitable corporations while at the same time underfunding our Military once the government has sent them into battle, in my mind is criminal. Penny pinching the military when they return injured and broken is even worse." - Anyone But Conservative, Canadian Veterans Campaign
-
Cut the F-35 boondoggle and put the money back for veterans!
-
Has there been any CPC military equipment announcement that hasn't been reduced or shelved? Harper's announcements may have been pro-military, but his actions have been the opposite. Except for the fact that he likes to send troops into battles.
-
Unfortunately, his admiration for our troops ends when they return and need treatment.
