This article has caused a heated debate in the comments section with over 700 comments arguing both sides.     But it is politicizing when the leaders of the opposition do not want to reveal the real facts,namely that the boy's family had not applied for refugee status in Canada and furthermore, that Canada indeed has done a lot for refugees from the world over. So, yes, Tom and Justin HAVE politicized the issue. If you cannot see that then you are readily misled.

    If opinion writers such as Tabatha Southey feel the need to instill into Minister Alexander the need to think of the dead Syrian child when he pushes his own children in a swing set, and if Trudeau's campaign manager Gerald Butts does some fundraising on the side for the Liberal party over the boy's dead body, then really, what questions would be left for Harper to answer for, exactly?? Perhaps the members of the media should buy some mirrors. I hear mirrors might be on sale soon.

    When Justin Trudeau made the choice to skip Parliament in session to then go out and deliver speeches to charities and schools, did he then respect Parliament? No other MP has ever given speeches for extra fees, let alone skipping Parliament to go an deliver speeches for extra fees. Only Trudeau decided to do that!

    There will be problems with any program to bring in either refugees or regular immigrants. No process can be perfect. There are reasons why rules are updated. Reality of abuse of the system makes it necessary. Some of you seem to be thinking that bringing refugees into a host country is just a simple matter of buying a plane ticket for them. You should really start looking at reality instead of pretending complicated issues are simple.

    My topic was non-partisan, and leave it to you, a hyper-partisan to politicize a federal program. I didn't say anywhere that I'm happy about the CPP. The difference between you and me is simple. You want the state to hold your hand through life while I want the state to leave me alone.

    I understand, but I think it is wrong to give very little to a beneficiary. They should get a lump sum of the total the deceased person put in.
