  1. Putting the CPP contribution into an RRSP or TFSA would be much better.
  2. I woud be better off investing the money I'm forced to pay into CPP. What a scam.
  3. I have a question about the CPP. Let's say someone who has paid into CPP all his/her working life dies at 64. What happens to all of their CPP contributions? Does the family or beneficiary get a large lump sum?
  4. NDP Selinger endorsed Mulcair's pension scheme? Not sure whether having a proven inept fiscal incompetent bless your pension scheme is necessarily a good thing.

I suppose you think that Manitoba should refuse equalization?

    3. overthere

      overthere

Manitoba should go Full Quebec on Harpers ass and insist on more, much more of that annual gravy.

      Any less would be RACIST!!!

  5. I hope the CBC Ombudsman is kept busy investigating how her journalists didn't bother to fact check a pretty major story today. Red Rosie has egg on her face.

Cybercoma ignores me because he ignores facts.

  6. Is Trudeau becoming a bit tired of saying 'yes' today and 'no' tomorrow? I mean, it becomes rather confusing with all the flip-flops he is delivering.

  7. I though Animal farm was a good book. It reminded me of my days when I was a committed socialist.
  8. You make an excellent point. Public sector unions will benefit the most from an NDP. I'm not against unions but I grow tired of my dues paying for campaigning, not to mention the fat cats who travel and eat lobster on their expense accounts.
  9. I'm sure Mr. Anthony has better things to do with his time then concern himself with a bunch of juvenile trivialities. Some of you need to grow up.
  10. Trudeau says Paul Martin was right to slash transfers, but he won't follow suit.

  11. Socialism thrives on destabilizing the economy and society, as this gives it more opportunity to develop their pyramid form of government.

We haven't had a more top down government than Harpers. Plus, conservative economic theories have been proven to be a bust, time and time again. Tax cuts to the wealthy do not encourage growth, whereas minimum wage increases do. Corporate tax cuts have not created jobs or investment and simply lead to an increased tax burden on the middle class with reduced services to those that need it.

Capitalism requires a large group of people to purchase goods and services. Improving the plight of those at the bottom returns far more money to the economy than giving the wealthy more dough. Conservative policies are bad for the economy as a whole, but beneficial to the ownership class. This may buy political support from corporations but it is a race to the bottom for our society and cannot last.

  12. The problem is that we cannot rely on the MSM to tell us anything worthwhile, or to even be fair during the campaign, as the MSM is heavily invested in the Liberals and NDP. It's ice that there are level headed assessments to be found. Here is an interesting take. http://worthwhile.typepad.com/worthwhile_canadian_initi/2015/08/king-of-deficits.html
  13. From what I'm seeing it will be just as bad, if not worse.
  14. Believe me, I won't worry. The planet can support billions more. I used to subscribe to Chicken Little's fearmongering........but no more.
  15. Why do I confuse Justin Trudeau with Justin Bieber?

Probably because they're equally qualified to be PM. Zing!

  16. Only in Canada would the Duffy matter be a scandal, a private citizen agrees to pay back stolen money taken by a grubby self serving politician. then the scandal turns on politician spinning lying and reframing the truth, oh my, politicians lying, what a great scandal. As long as opposition politicians and the 7/24 news cycle needs scandal to hide reality , all issues will be inflamed to hide reporting incompetence and lack of political answers to real problems
  17. I agree. The PC party had to go. But I see things fro an independent, non-partisan viewpoint............you, unfortunately, do not.
  18. I haven't switched to right wing conservatism. I'm simply mpore weary of hard core socialists like you and the damaging principals you stand for.
  19. Speaking of fear mongering...^ The planet is and will be fine.
  20. This doesn't "scare" me at all. People need to live life instead of being scared.
  21. The NDP believe that everyone should be equal. However, very few socialists see themselves as an actual worker. They realize that the workers need a firm guiding hand, and who better to apply that hand, but the ones that created the system. And of course, to distinguish themselves from the others, maybe an extra perk or two. Scratch a 'progressive', they ooze loathing for the common man.
  22. Therein lies Mulcair's big problem. If he gets a majority, he'll be Bob Rae 2.0, torn between the "eat the rich, nationalize the banks" side of the party and those on the more centrist/modern side.
  23. Mulcair's policy during his leadership run is substantially different than his election platform, so I'm not sure if the debate should be or will be over. Remember all that talk of Dutch disease and the issue of oil out west hurting manufacturing in the East? You certainly don't hear that from Mulcair now.
  24. I don't know what the NDP were thinking when they elected Mulcair their leader. He has been a member of whatever party will have him at the moment - never mind political philosophy. Mulcair is in it for himself - full stop. He will tell anyone whatever they want to hear even if it means contradiction from one jurisdiction to another. The only other person I have known to do this is Tim Hudak and look where that got him.
  25. I didn't flipped. I started looking at things from an objective point of view. Socialism was hammered into me for a long time. I made a conversion to become an independent. There was a time when I blindly believed the things guys like you spewed, News flash, buddy....that happens no more. Sorry that upsets you.
