  1. No I wont rethink it. The point is he gets to carry it and whoes going to stop him if he kills some one with it? He will lose his right to carry it of course but does it need to result in the death of an inocent bystander for the courts to wake up and smell the coffee?
  2. Amen I absolutly agree with you, we should tell them to go back to their own country when they pull this crap. When you rin the RCMP you where a traditional unifrom with a traditional hat not a turbin, you dont like it don't join, its that simple.
  3. A government isn't a corporation where when it earns more it returns dividends to its shareholders (well, Alberta does, but we are an exception). Instead, collecting too much in tax reduces consumption and investment, which reduces our economic growth. And rarely do surpluses get spent with the same consideration as in budget expenses! The US government is
  4. Yesturday the supreme court of Canada ruled in favour of allowing a religious man to carry a knife on him at school. Not only is this endangering other students for the sake of one he is taking away other student's right to feel safe at school. This is absolutly non sense only in Canada does this kind of stuff happan and it angers me to see it happan. These people come to are country and they tell us what to do, I would just tell them to go bak to their own country you have no right to carry knives in public places and put people in harms way. I am a firm believer in rleigious rights as I am a christian, but when it puts other people in harms way than it should be stopped. I am a christian and I keep my faith seperated from public and home, I don't go around telling people that I am christian and this is what I am going to do. If this young man wants to believe what he believes he should keep it at his home not indanger other people, or just leave this country if he deosn't like it.
  5. As a conservative supporter a right winger and a definate blue tory backer. Blue tories make better chnage in our national policies and are far more honest than red tories.
  6. All things you say but arnt backed up by links, you say this is preoof but this is all from you not from fact. Ive watched the news and Canada's unemployment is goign down although the US is doing better on employment, I definatly never said that Canada had larger GDP, I said that your in a larger debt than we are.
  7. While its nice to point out that the US is being run into the ground by a failed administration, you do need more work with your economics. Economics is never the strength of the left though, so your forgiven for your misinformation. Left? arnt Conservatives right wing You just embarassed youself big time Learn your political parties and stance
  8. Canada would never head an offensive operation anywhere in the world. It's political suicide in Canada to liberate anyone or intervene anywhere. What are we doing in Afganistan? We are taking command of coalition forces and laucnhing an offensive/defensive/security against terrorist forces. Political suicide to intervene or liberate anywhere? Canada? where did you here this? Canada can do what it wants when it wants and doesn't need the United States permission to do it.
  9. Judging by all this talk of any Homegrown Solution doing better, looks like we can meet the Kyoto requirements anyway, so why not just keep it? Becuase it is a waste of time and money if our counterparts to the south arn't on board and your not considering the majpr fact that it is not working.
  10. Kyoto has been rendered utterally useless. Are green house gas emissions are still higer than the United States even though we have signed on adn they havn't. Also kyoto is usless because with are neighbors to the south not on board all their pollution just comes into Canada so it is pointless. The US has got it on the right track we just need to follow them on our own path and withdrawl from the agreement and do this at our own pace. As Bush said his business's will be effected down their if they sign on and so will ours if we stay on board.
  11. This should show the people in this forum who think Harper is a scary person, that he is not. He is already ready to keep promises it took the Liberals ten years to even consider. Congradulations Mr. Prime Minister
  12. On the right track. Afghanistan would be under Taliban control, al-Qaeda would be flourishing more than currently and we wouldn't be stealing American jobs. As much as i dissagree with Gore accusing Harper of such "trechery" correct me if I am wrong but the United States and Canada are in Afganistan under NATO, so no matter who wouldve/could've been president now Canada the United States and other countries would be freeing Afganistan from the Taliban regime. We are not "now" freeing the Afghanis from the Taliban. That was accomplished within the first few months of the invasion, and would have been regardless of who was commanding the US military. It was a really, really, unfair fight. The question still stands as to whether NATO would have gone into Afghanistan in the first place, if Al Gore was in charge. Certainly, NATO is as much of a crippled and ineffectual organisation as the UN is, without American leadership. Call me cynical, but I doubt the invasion would have happened if left up to a concensus vote by NATO member countries, without American prompting. It would be like Darfur: everyone agrees something needs to be done, nobody wants to take any concrete actions. However, I happen to believe that 911 was such a major event in US history and so affected America's political reality that a Democratic president would have reacted much the same way that Bush did. Meaning, at least the invasion of Afghanistan would have happened, if not further exploits in the Middle Eastern theatre. Your right about the Taliban falling but not everything like you say needs to be led by the United States that is very cynical. Canada backed by a British force and other small countries that are currently in Afganistan could have went their alone. Although most likely like you said would never have happaned because the whole reason this started was because of September 11th.
  13. As much as I agree with you on this, I dont think it makes this forum "unpopular" I think its more human error than a programming flaw. People just chose to click add reply or reply, they no what it means but they just don't sort out what doesn't need to be in the conversation when they post a new reply. I think people just have to pay attention that's all.
  14. Face it your country is in debt and your economy slowly declining Some of your posts are a barrel of laughs as well. Everyone's in debt (64.7% GDP in US and 68.2% GDP in Canada, we are relatively in worse debt), doesn't neccessarily mean economic collapse is coming, in fact, irrelevance will come before collapse. The US economy is growing faster than Canada's too sorry (US at 3.5% and Canada at 2.8%). While its nice to point out that the US is being run into the ground by a failed administration, you do need more work with your economics. Economics is never the strength of the left though, so your forgiven for your misinformation. Your telling me that the US economy is beating Canadas? where did you here this (it must be an americans point of view) ALl over the news that canadas economy is slowly surpassing the united states. fix your information and show me a link where it says that the united states economy is doing better than canada's your makign me laugh Others are laughing too....at you. Quit embarrassing yourself. Canada's economy is doing alright, but the US economy has been on a tremendous roll the last couple of years. Their GDP growth has been higher than ours for at least a couple of years and their unemployment rate just dropped to 4.7%, while Canada's rose to 6.6%. Anyone who follows politics knows this. Don't they report things like this on the state-run taxpayer-funded The National? Find your own link; it can't be too difficult. Im not embarassing myself you are saying americas ecomony is doing better than Canadas over and over again without out adequete proof of your argument. When the Liberals were in power Canadas ecomnomy was on a roll we were slowly but surely surpassing americas economy but im sure we are on a definit roll here mathcihng or surpassing your countries economy. I know how economics work and if you did you would know that when a country like the USA is paying off so many deficets that your economy can't "go on a roll" as you said but stays put or declines.
  15. How about you hold your breath until the American dollar drops below ours, and the American military collapses? Well you have to admit our dollars doing pretty good and their is speculation it is going to gain more value in the future, also the american military thing if you havn't already read my reply I corected myself saying that it would not collapse but the administration would haev to take it wasy on spending towards it.
  16. I am a definate supporter of Harper going to Afganistan, but it is a busy time for the administration. If he does it is a dangerous place, will Harper be provided with adequete security?
  17. Don't be so quick to dismiss our ability to get hostages out. Canada's special-operations troops are the second-best trained unit in the world, bowing only to the UK's SAS. Ill back you on that we do have the second best I think they are called JTF2 Im pretty sure anyway.
  18. Waiting game with the Liberals? Oh, you mean do nothing until the UK or US step in? Well since we arnt in Iraq that would be the plan. But they are already their with histages of their own what the hell are they doing about it? Same thing as we are, nothing. By the was I agree with not negotiating with terrorists, we would just be giving in to a weakness.

It is unfair when Canadians claim that the US is in bigger debt because their dollar amount is higher. Their percentage of debt--in relation to GDP is a bit less than Canada. No tmuch i might add, last time i checked are dollar was at an all time high of 87 cents and some economists canadian and american on the national say that by june ares will be higher than yours. So what was that you were saying

  21. On the right track. To nowhere. The man's an idiot. That he would describe Harper's government as "ultra right wing" when it, for the most part, is further to the left than Hillary Clinton, bespeaks an amazing ignorance which, in an intelligent man, would have provoked silence lest he make a fool of himself. He also lost to Bush, that makes him look even worse

  23. This is pretty old news but it has been recently brough up again with the new government: http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/20...ckay060221.html Their is no word on whether the hostages are alive or not but a tape did arise not that long ago saying they were. What do you think the new Harper government will do to get these hostages back? Whether we play the waiting game as the Liberals did, negotiate or take action. Oppinions?

  25. FInnaly we agree on somthing Ottawa, I also hold right and left values, a little more right than left that why i support CPC. I think we should have a political party based on both right and left, although that would be the liberal party, I think liberals in Canada are soft on right wing issues.
