  1. Under Obama, the US relinquished control of the internet, maybe some of you missed that. Obama was always good at slipping in a rabbit punch while he's smiling at you.
  2. I totally agree with the above. There are people now with 70+ points and it's really becoming nothing more than a silly popularity contest.
  3. That may or may not be true, but I can't recall a 'people' being made up with the sole agenda of stealing land or starting wars with another people.
  4. When a guest dignitary is visiting a country, shouldn't they feel welcome to observe their own norms rather than conform immediately? To expect them to cover up shows a lack of respect for them and the nation that they represent.
  5. Well if you're going to include the crowd size spat as a "failure", then I guess he's had a few. I notice you don't care to count his wins thus far, as the rest of the left don't care to mention either. It's funny, I truly was neutral towards Trump when he won the nomination, and I referred to him as a scoundrel. I was hoping one of the other contenders would take it. But I found myself defending common sense with regards to Trump and left zealot nonsense like he's the next Hitler, he's a racist, he's got ties with Russia, etc. These attacks were nothing more than conspiracy theories. Nothing real to back them up. Hey, 9/11 was an inside job too. He's certainly a flawed person, and certainly not a skilled politician, but that's part of his appeal I think. That's what won me over, the fact that he's not a politician, and doesn't owe favours across Washington and isn't connected to the power brokers. Now some of them attack him out of fear after they've milked the system for decades. He's rough around the edges, but that's what his administration team is for. At the end of the day, if he can get the US economy humming and get millions of people back to work, then he'll win a second term. But at 76, I don't know if he'll have the energy for another 4.
  6. Perhaps your twitter trump supporters are getting tired of repeating themselves to mindless fear mongering, as I am. I've laid low in this forum lately for that exact reason, the shrillness is being amped up by the MSM which are apparently losing audiences as well. And perhaps I missed the failures you speak of, I only saw the one WRT the 90 day immigration freeze.
  7. lots of presidents had failed enterprises before winning the White House, Trump is only the latest.
  8. It sounds like you are trying to agree that Palestinians are made up people.
  9. Exactly. Most presidents have had to do some bombing and military actions, and it looks like Trump will have to as well.
  10. (f) Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

The Establishment Clause is a limitation placed upon the United States Congress preventing it from passing legislation respecting an establishment of religion. The second half of the Establishment Clause inherently prohibits the government from preferring any one religion over another. While the Establishment Clause does prohibit Congress from preferring or elevating one religion over another, still it does not prohibit the government's entry into the religious domain to make accommodations for religious observances and practices in order to achieve the purposes of the Free Exercise Clause.

This executive order has nothing to do with the Congress.  Congress didn't vote on it, and presidential power here is clear.

Ah, no. Judicial power is certainly what seems to be clear at least for the moment.

  11. Well maybe you should bone up on the historic impeachment that resulted for Slick Willy.
  12. Atlanta was up 3 scores in the 4th quarter, and how did Brady do that!?

I want to have Tom Brady's...baby.

I heard that both he and the coach were Trump supporters.  I imagine there would have been a lot of Trump jeering had he lost.  Quite the comeback.

I doubt there will be any shortage of Trump jeering regardless of who wins a football game.

  13. In 2011, Obama suspended immigration from Iraq.  Mass hysteria definitely ensued.

Wrong! That was very different. Besides, it was dealt with in a reasonable, responsible way.

  14. Uh-oh, nonsense alert. The thought that Trump is somehow responsible for this heinous crime is beyond ridiculous. There were SEVERAL such attacks in the US during Obama's terms, in spite of his many substantial overtures and moves with regard to the Muslim world in general. No, the crazed among us do not need Obamas or Trumps to rise to power to give them the go ahead some kind of sign to launch out and attack innocents. And then there is Europe, which has been bending over backwards to the Muslim world for many years. I could tick of the many such attacks over there, but there is no point in embarrassing anybody.
  15. What nonsense. Rudy Giuliani cleaned up New York just fine without enacting any such thing. What you have yet to realize is, Trump will float several ideas and say many things before revealing the actual course of action. The constant knee jerk reaction to everything Trump says and does plays effectively into his, uh, plans. I hope the popcorn is tasty. I'd recommend popping it old school on the stove, the way grandma used to make it.
  16. Well, it is a big step, actually a chasm. Totalitarianism is what you're talking about, places like North Korea, China, Iran and several other mid east countries as well as Isis. The US has banned waterboarding, and is now reconsidering. I outlined a scenario in which its known that a terrorist has the goods on a mass murder attack(this could easily happen with intercepting cell phone calls or old fashioned surveillance). No one wants to even consider it because it forces them to say it's okay to save thousands of lives by waterboarding.
  17. Believe whatever makes you happy, Squid, but bias matters.
  18. I question the whole idea. You've got no idea if he wants to cozy up to Russia and screw China. What he's saying and doing right now is simply opening moves. His real agenda could be revealed down the road, or never at all, as Obama's agenda was.
  19. Quoting biased sources that have political agendas really doesn't add to the discussion, but thanks for trying, Squid.
  20. They've got video of him bombing a few different night clubs, and he admits that he did those.
  21. Trudeau Jan 13:  oil-sands industry needs to be “phased out”

    Jan 24:(After Trump signs Keystone)

I've been on the record for many years supporting [Keystone XL] because it leads to economic growth and good jobs for Albertans.

And of top of that, Trudeau also gave the go ahead to a major pipeline upgrade in BC.  Quite an oil guy JT is turning out to be.  And as long as he pays lip service to the left once in a while, they'll go along with it(aside from a few weeks of protest).  Interesting times indeed.

He's more of an oilman than Harper ever was in 10 years....

Why do you hate him so??

  22. There has been an influx of capital since the Trump election, to the tune of 2 trillion.

That does not say anything about influx of $2 trillion in capital, not even close. That is simply talking about the valuation of the stock market which is an entirely different issue.

    4. sharkman

No, 2 trillion in valuation is what I meant, that's what all the business channel talking heads mention.

  23. Your link has the same quotes from Trump that mine does, I guess it was just the one interview. No one has refuted the scenario I outlined. If a terrorist is detained, and he knows the particulars of an upcoming attack with a jetliner, the CIA or whomever is obligated to try and save the thousands of lives that are at stake. Waterboarding? Here's the bucket, have at it.
  24. I'd have to look at the way the research was gathered, the goals/mission statement, the persons involved, the reasons they decided to track certain data and not others. Then find out why people at the highest level of intelligence say that it works. Does it save lives? Is confined detention torture? Is blowing up a building torture? If you water board someone and it saves the building and the people in it, isn't that worth it?
