  1. Yeah, I'm wondering if his life might be at risk for making this movie. My wife and I saw it too, and thought it was the best non-action movie this year. We laughed out loud on several occasions as well. The line, "We lost 19 of our best", was hilarious and standing up to bigotry at the same time. Which is a good approach to describing what this movie is. It's part drama. it's part witty comedy. it gives a glimpse of life in a muslim family, and the clash of cultures. Very original.
  2. Gosh. Obama let Putin get away with invading the Ukraine, and taking the lead in Syria. For the love of pete, get some perspective, man.
  3. Thanks, but she beat cancer. She also beat an aneurysm. She's one of those that just keeps on ticking!
  4. I was saddened to hear about this. I don't agree with all of his views or politics, but he's a wonderful person who's suffered a lot. He deserves to beat this, but sometimes life isn't exactly fair. My mother had cancer about 10 years ago, and it was quite an ordeal. One of the chemotherapy drugs was called FU something. She said, referring to the FU part, that it was well named.
  5. It kind of looks like nobody can follow the bouncing ball around here, but I'll point out the latest bounce anyway. This weeks bounce is the third meeting between Trump and Putin. Now it could have been reported last week because a meeting like that in a public place was seen by hundreds of people. But it wasn't, and can anyone think critically and deduce why it was not reported last week?
  6. So the Trump Jr meeting turned out to be something that couldn't really touch Trump Sr. Too bad about that, eh? Did anyone(and by anyone, I mean anyone who can look at the situation objectively and or think critically, which is not you Omni) happen to notice how the Trump Jr story was handled and released? The whole complete story, which somebody obviously had at the start, was not released in whole. It came out in dribs and drabs over several days, as if they were just discovering new details, which of course kept the story percolating in the MSM, which is of course all it was intended to do. This is classic politics. Release a piece of a story, get angry denials, then hit them with another piece, etc., hoping they'll say or do something damaging to their team. And it's been going on since Trump got elected. The problem is, Trump's getting pretty good at playing the game now. But the point is, the goal at this early point is to not get him impeached, though of course a few radical Dems want it badly. The goal is to keep him from being re-elected 3 1/2 years from now. And there are some Republican senators and members of Congress that feel this way though they feign support. They want him gone because he's an outsider that doesn't play by their rules. He wants to give tax cuts and a new medical care program simply because it's the right thing to do. And if he would get these items, their economy would take off like nobody's business. In 1984, for about a year and a half, the American economy grew 12%, and this is what we'd see again, and it would surely by itself get Trump re-elected. The country needs it very badly, and the people need it worse. But the anti-Trump Republicans don't care, they just want the outsider gone so they can get back to the payola and the back room deals. They put themselves ahead of the needs of the country, and that's the worst cut of all. These turn coats need to be outed. The Trump team should quit with the subtle tactics and take the gloves off for the good of the country.
  7. And now for something completely different, The Big Sick.  Hilarious movie with a heart.

  8. Uh, well it WILL work. Only not in eight years. That's all I'm saying. There are several great technologies besides the electric car that may yet win the day. Something will replace the combustion engine, or perhaps the combustion engine will evolve to zero emissions, who knows what could happen.
  9. No. Every few years some wild eyed jack leg cobbles together some nonsense about the combustion engine, or the environment, or the world population or some other topic that the left keeps screeching about. Eventually the combustion engine will fade out, but it won't EVER be forced in a free economy. Wake up.
  10. They are too expensive. The batteries are super dangerous in a collision. They are limited in distance travelled between charges. Our electrical grid does not have anything close to the capacity needed to charge millions of new ev vehicles. In BC, the new minority NDP government stopped completion of a huge hydro electric dam which would have helped with future demand to charge up these future vehicles. The whole thing is just not reality. I know you're going to respond with something glib and unrealistic. It doesn't matter. The reality of our electrical grid will not change.
  11. Last Christmas, my wife and I drove from Calgary to Kamloops while travelling home. Rogers Pass was a mess, and they actually closed it down a while after we got through. So we were going quite slow at times, speeding up to slow down, etc. Lots of hills to climb, an awful trip when trying to get good gas mileage. In a 2014 4 cyl Altima, we drove the 627 km using a little over a 1/2 tank of gas. Our consumption was 6.1 litres per 100 kms. This is a large mid size car. Internal combustion vehicles aren't going anywhere.
  12. Oh, you're just here to play games? Well enjoy yourself then. If you ever decide you want to discuss political events, let me know.
  13. What about you? Do you know how to use the google thingy? Here ya go: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/dnc-could-face-investigation-into-ukraine-ties-if-christopher-wray-is-confirmed/article/2628480
  14. If Trump was involved, all the major networks would be sending their troops to the Ukraine to start digging. But since it was only the Dems, you won't hear anything from the MSM. It doesn't fit the narrative.
  15. Think happy thoughts, and listen to Angelica Hale.

  16. What I said was, The New York Times. Recanted their story. Here's the problem. You're an ideologue, so the simple truth that the New York Times recanted their story illudes you and you can't see the reality here. I mean, I can look at Trump, and say, he's an idiot. His vocabulary is shockingly small. I have biases, but I still can think critically and reason and perceive reality. But the person who can't read the New York Times' own correction that recants the story about 17 news agencies, and realize that the New York Times recanted their story, that person is an ideologue. I'm not going to debate another ideologue. Truth is not debatable, it's either true or it isn't. Either The New York Times recanted or they didn't.
  17. Oh, really? What's his favorite colour?
  18. I asked you to name the fake news 17 Government agencies that all agreed that Russia hacked the election. You can't name them because it's fake news that was passed around like a joint by lefties getting a buzz. The New York Times, that bastion of Leftist thought and the one leading the charge against Trump, finally crumbled. They recanted their lies about 17 agencies almost 2 weeks ago, and now admit it was only 4, not 17. But like I said, to the left, the facts don't matter. It's going to be torture for them the rest of the term, and they deserve it. I'm sure the SCOTUS recent decision freaked them out. I'm sure the Syrian ceasefire freaked them out. I'm sure the recent good jobs report freaked them out. Here's a stock tip. Buy into the drug company that makes valium.
  19. Do some reading, they'll have them shortly. They'd have them already but for Israel's efforts.
  20. Uh, Russia is a country. It's a thing that doesn't actually speak at all. I don't support Putin. I think he's eventually going to ally with Iran against Israel and start a war. Did he try to get a win for warmonger Trump, when Hilary the peacenik would let Russia do anything? Get real. I do believe he could be leaking all kinds of fake news to the US media now though, to damage the administration and distract the media. Seriously though, there's obviously no point in talking to any Trump basher on this forum. Facts don't matter. Critical thinking doesn't apply. It's kind of sad.
  21. No, Obama was just dumb enough to give Iran nukes.
  22. Could you start by naming these 17 organizations? And how each of them independently came to this conclusion that the official Russian government was involved?
  23. See, the left doesn't actually need proof. They just repeat it enough times in their echo chamber until, as Dan Rather famously said, it has the ring of truth!. Of course, Rather lost his job after that fiasco, but the point is, the facts don't matter.
