What "heavy lifting" the Congress does has to be signed off on by the president and voted on by the Senate, or am I missing something? So it doesn't matter what the Congress does unless they've got "heavy lifting" support in the Senate and with the President. Kelly could have been much harder on Trump than she was. She took the middle of the road route, and her rise has been a long time coming. Fox gave her the start she needed, but she built her viewer base with really good interviews, questions, and opinions. NBC won't know what hit them, and she's not going to limit her free speech so as to conform to whatever leftwing limits NBC might have. NBC knows this, there's no way she signed a contract that limits her free speech.

The other theory is possible, that it was a disgruntled DNC insider. Obama's reaction to Russia almost leaves room for such a theory. He loves to do mis-directs based on nothing but smoke. But Russia has been hacking, there's just no fingerprint proof, apparently.

This is going to be huge for NBC. She's very smart, is able to look at both sides of an issue, and had a running feud with Trump to boot. The bigger picture is that the conservative viewpoint will be presented on any show she's the host of, and it'll create another option besides the Fox channel. There's no way she signed a big bux contract with NBC in which they limit her free speech. No way.

I accept that Russia hacked the DNC and leaked documents damaging to various Dem officials. I also accept the fact that various journalists in the MSM, including Donna Brazille, leaked questions to Hillary in an attempt to have her defeat Sanders. I also accept that Hillary was cleared of further investigation on her server by the FBI. I also accept that the FBI said that her server was hacked, and should further evidence be discovered, she would be under further investigation. I also accept the fact that Russia has been hacking various organizations and governments for well over a year, and this is known by the current US administration. I also accept the fact that Trump won the election, and will be the president. I also accept the fact that Trump is a scoundrel, although evidence is mounting that he may be a reformed scoundrel. Punishing Russia, that's an interesting one. Since Obama knew about their hacking for at least a year, it's funny that he does nothing until this late date. He seems to be trying to worsen US-Russian relations. Either way, after doing little or nothing for several years while Russia had their way with Ukraine and Syria, it's too late to be effective on Russia in any way, and he knows this. Trump is taking advantage of Obama's bad cop routine, and as a good cop, can step in and have an opportunity to get Russia to behave. If they don't, Trump would be more willing than Obama to use the military when needed.

You don't know what you're talking about. I can't provide evidence of her server, are you on something? And I'm not going to dig up FBI statements on her server, do it yourself.

The Clintons are being investigated currently. They've crossed the IRS, and 12 months down the road they may have a surprise. And of course the the FBI may have something too. If it's wrong for the Russians to hack secure DNC computers, then it's wrong for high level American officials to have unsecured servers.

Yeah, that's about the size of it, he's being trolled and outmaneuvered by Putin. Obama misread him badly during his time in office.

I can't answer for Betsy, but I do see some issues WRT Obama's actions on his way out. Russia has been hacking for well over a year, and Obama's known about it. Second, in the last year his diplomats in Russia have been experiencing increasing harassment by Russian authorities. Obama has done nothing about these direct offences against the US. But suddenly with less than a month left, he gets heavy handed with Russia. If he had been heavy handed a year ago, the election hacking never would have happened. So that tells us that their offences alone weren't enough to draw a response from Barry. He has some other agenda as usual. Ditto with his silly lashing out at Israel. Trump is showing his mettle, however, by using Obama's actions against him and becoming the good cop to Obama's bad cop.

Well that's the thing. She didn't win anything by 3 million votes. Again, having California dictate to the other 49 states who should be the president is not how their system is designed.

No. Simply looking at the numbers tells you that California and New York skewed the popular results. What left extremists are saying is that California and New York should be allowed to dictate to the rest of the country. And that is exactly what their voting system was designed to prevent.

Yep, antisemitism is the root cause of this mess. Just as racism is the root cause of bigotry towards Blacks in the US. It's as old as mankind, unfortunately, and is one of the things we can't seem to cure.

That's funny, when Obama wanted to skip the briefings, the left all nodded sagely. Personally, I think that the president should be briefed every day, but I'd trust that Trump would respond militarily to a situation that calls for it more than I'd trust Obama would do anything besides go to bed for the night. Then the next morning, blame a youtube video, as he tried to shape opinion WRT Benghazi rather than shape the actual event.
