  1. Who are the knuckleheads and who are the rational? I believe that is self evident. Those of any faith that want violent revolution instead of spiritual revolution are knuckleheads.
  2. None, I think it takes more school than that. Yeah....I was thinking something like that. A friend of mine teaches High School in Mississauga. First he did his BA at McGill then did the teacher's college thingie followed by a year internship in Australia (something tells me he did that for fun) then he had to get a job......I believe he was 26 before he through hios first chalk at a disruptive student. My wife was teaching at 23, so I guess there are different avenues to get there.
  3. Actually, no. Most things being blamed on Clinton were either not blameworthy or not his fault. In contrast, the things Bush is criticized for are really bad and clearly his fault. Clinton was blameless or it wasn't his fault? And everything Bush is being blamed for is his fault. Wow, he must be a complete genius, masterminding 9/11 a scant 9 months into his term, stealing elections and generally having his way with the Dems in every election up to now. All this horse hockey about the Republicans stealing elections is just the result of bitter Dems who can't face the fact that their platform sucks. Lou Dobbs is singlehandedly trying to sway the election with his 'broken government' propaganda, and just like Dan Rather before him, it tends to tick off more people than it sways to the Dem's side.
  4. I find it sad that those on the left who responded to this thread for the most part(except for Liam) chose not to be critical of the Muslim cleric in question, but instead took the opportunity to be critical of Christians, which were not in this particular story whatsoever. The guy advocates the murder of gays and it doesn't matter unless he's a Christian. Pathetic.
  5. You old school feminists just don't get it. Women have equality today. Some crime sex slave racket doesn't change that. They sell little boys for sex as well. That you only defend women shows your prejudice.
  6. Really. When has it been broadcast? What channel on the TV machiney thing.
  7. I think the Pope is extending an olive branch to the Muslim leaders, who will no doubt see it as a sign of weakness and keep calling for their faithful to blow up catholic stuff. They are so predictable.
  8. How about the same justification they used for taking out Saddam's nuclear facilities back in the eighties. Blow up the nutbar's weapons before he has a chance to use them on you.
  9. So, how would the Liberals campaign for an election without an actual leader? They aren't that stupid, are they?
  10. If you want to talk about sexism, this thread title is more sexist than Peter's remarks. Nobody seems too put out by it, and the only reason certain people are crying foul over,"You have her", is because of politics, plain and simple.
  11. Yeah, Billary trots out that little quote whenever she's trying to soften her hard left philosophy and move toward the middle. She ain't foolin anybody. What, abortions are illegal? Dangerous? Democrats haven't earned anything. More accurately, Republicans may have earned a time out.
  12. Really, where does he play it?
  13. It wasn't sexism against an MP(belinda), ironically calling her a hot babe with a nice caboose would be sexism. Inferring she is a dog is only sour grapes. I'm sure a lot worse has been said in the House of Commons before, only people were adult enough to not worry about it.(Pass the Sheila tequ... never mind)
  14. You, my friend, do not occupy the center. If you did you would not freak out over a right of center government like the Tories. Since you do, you are something else.
  15. Fearmongering now? No doubt a conservative gov. would run all over your rights just like Mulroney did.(Not) Like someone told you in a thread earlier, our politics are decidedly to the left of the U.S. Hence, the conservatives are not in line with the Republicans no matter how many times you care to repeat it. And our Liberals are left of the Democrats. You kind of sound like a Liberal party hack. It is the Liberal governments of the past decades who have been dabbling in our rights. Although this isn't what I was refering to with a smaller government style that the conservatives go with. I'm talking about tax less spend less. a government program (handout) for every imaginable thing. 100's of millions to promote Canada in Quebec, for instance. P.S. The Tories have been considering making pot possession a ticketable offense. You probably know this.
  16. As far as the Air America ads go, it sounds like a marketing strategy that didn't work. Much like the network itself. On youtube, Coulter snippets abound. I was refering to one where the Canadian interviewers tag teamed her and wouldn't let her get a word in edgwise. Typical lefties shouting down opposing views, and in Canada where we are soooo tolerant.
  17. It sounds like you have developed some judgemental attitudes. I also live in B.C.'s bible belt. Not many vote for the subservience of women since it's not on the ballots anymore. But, and follow this carefully, some women expect big government to solve all of their challenges. That is the Liberal style government that wants to have a hand in every single part of our lives. The conservative model is generally to have smaller government where independent people prefer to handle more of their own lives.
  18. The remarks you make are media generated. Clinton and Domi? There isn't any evidence of either. As for MacKay, who broke up with who? This Conservative focus is right wing attacks on morality. Usually without evidence. Uh, pretty much everything on this board is media generated.
  19. NBC is at least getting one thing right. They are laying off 700 employees and cutting 700 jobs. Seems no one is watching anymore. Will they take the hint from the viewing public and show a little more respect for them? Not likely, they're blaming that big ole' boogeyman, the internet.
  20. Emerson didn't have a romance going with someone and then dump them as he dumped his party, which is a big difference. The truth is Belinda was played like a fiddle by the Liberals that wooed her. She still doesn't get that. Her behaviour, first with Bill Clinton, then Peter and now Domi, show a woman who has a pattern of deceit. The liberals can have her. Your cheap shot at conservative woman is silly.
  21. Could you provide any links to your claim of Israel's comments on bombing? It would be good news for me. If I understand this strategy you are describing, Israel leaks into the media thoughts of bombing Iran's facilities to manipulate Ahmadinejad, who responds with his Israel should die type comments. It seems sort of sketchy, why wouldn't Ahmadinejad respond directly to Israel's bombing threats? To announce if Israel trys it, he will respond accordingly. To simply announce he thinks Israel should be wiped off the map only makes himself look stupid and deranged, if you get my meaning. I think there is more to it. Ahmadinejad seems to be trying to provoke Israel, but I could be missing something.
  22. Have you ever heard or read any of Coulter's comments? She is an extreme nutbar and of course her opinions would be attacked in Canada. She hates Canada. The Canadian public has no use for her tripe. I wish I would've gotten to see that! Dang I missed it. What station was this on? We do have more than the CBC. Why doesn't Can West give her a "platform"? Because the Canadian public would simply change the channel and Can West would lose viewers. I wasn't saying only conservatives are nutbars. Howard Stern is a nutbar from the other perspective. His nutty opinions don't fly in this country either. We are simply more level-headed and less emotional than the American public (in general). In America a person is either left or right, the issues are black or white. There is no middle of the road political views. In Canada, thankfully, we have perspectives from both sides AND the middle. There is no middle ground in George Bush's America. And you are correct -- Canadians are much more politically correct -- we don't like extreme opinions. We don't like to be pushed into the "yer either with us or against us" mentality. Yep, I've read many of Coulter's comments, and I've had the advantage of seeing them in context, something that critics fail to supply when they're making up their sound bite lists. Can West doesn't give Coulter a platform because she's an American, for one thing. But conservative Canadians like Ezra Levant don't get offered shows in Canada for the simple reason that the pointy heads in Canadian media are mostly leftists, and only want their viewpoints advanced. In Canada, being a conservative is politically incorrect if you're in the media. Hence the left wing pablum we hear day in and day out. We are more level headed and less emotional than Americans? Please. Try listening to viewpoints of the left fringe coming from Jack Layton or the greens, and the militant attitudes of their followers. Or right fringe for that matter. Also, in America, there is right, left, and MODERATE.
  23. Uh, Figgy, is that the best you can come up with? A low brow sexual reference? I know it's the end of the week and everyone's tired, but creativity is a gift one must use or lose, my lazy friend. Perhaps you should try again. At any rate, Belinda is just someone who's politics and principles have a price. The Libs paid it and now she is on the outside looking in. Her strategy to wrap herself in the feminist flag was tiresome since she herself is such a poor example of a principled woman, abandoning Peter like she did, over her love of power. This is will blow over like so many items that do on a slow news day.
