  1. What, dobbin has a small ego?
  2. Yes, we do not live in a free country. There are otherwise clearheaded professional people, for instance, who collect child porn. In this nonfree country we do not allow that, or many other behaviours that permit the harming of another person. There are also laws against harming oneself. The use of narcotics, though pleasurable and an escape, can do both. I suggest you quit if you can.
  3. So you don't think having everyone growing their own pot (and smoking more because of it) would have any downside? Get real.
  4. Yeah right, how are we supposed to ignore your posts and threads when you have made over 9900 of them in such a short time? Your The Latest threads are indeed a thinly veiled ploy to have most commentary done in your threads, which, when rubbed together with your 9900 posts seems to indicate a big ego, or a compensation behaviour. However, I will try to ignore your threads whenever possible.
  5. Good points, all this Mulroney thing does is give Dion the Breath of Life, which is a good thing for the Tories. Dion's inevitible demise gets put off for a few months, giving the Tories what is in effect a leaderless party to roll over whenever they need to, plus improved chances of an election with Dion at the helm.
  6. That is so funny and sad at the same time. The only thing the registry was ever good for was making liberals feel safe. Actual safeness would cost another 500,000,000,000, and involve the military confiscating criminals. It would be nice to see Dion grow some cajones and vote Harper's bill down. I'd love to have an election on this issue.
  7. Congratulations, you have finally taken a position on something that supports Israel! Other than that you seem pretty confused on the issue, perhaps you should study doctrine to find out what Christians and Jesus really think.
  8. Hey, Dion did it to himself. The pastor at my church had a little ceremony in the service yesterday. We sang O Canada and listened to a military trumpet salute. Then In Flander's Fields was recited, and all were touched. It reminded me of an old song I used to know, which was originally a poem written by a soldier at the end of WWI, Edward Shillito . Here is a verse: The heavens frighten us, they are too calm In all the universe we have no place Our wounds are hurting us; where is the balm? Lord Jesus, by your scars we know your grace
  9. The leading contenders on the Dem side are a woman and a man who has a Muslim background. Does either have a realistic chance of being voted in by the American public? Especially with America's Mayor probably winning the nod from the Republican side.
  10. Very well said, Dion is merely trying to fabricate a crisis where none exists. In the poor nations of the world, people would kill to live at Canada's poverty levels. They would try to move here even. Joining relatives who would help to bring them over, then line up for our social assistance programs. Any of this ringing a bell? Yes we have the poor, but those numbers have been falling the last ten years, once again, Dion picks the wrong issue at the wrong time.
  11. Speaking of Dion, did anyone see him pay his respects? All around him were others, including vets, dressed in many different colours, and here comes Dion, dressed in black from head to foot. He even found a scarf somewhere that was black as night. The guy really has bad judgement, no one else was wearing black, it wasn't a funeral, and he looked silly.
  12. (Drea, get a grip. Tim Mcveigh was an American and didn't sneak across the border. Your clueless comment about them wanting him to have that bomb was a rather inept attempt at trolling, maybe you should leave the trolling to those who can actually do it.) The above sentence by Fortunata is puzzling, I'm not sure if he/she actually feels that the country, USA, actually has some kind of occupation that it is doing incorrectly, or if per chance it's just the border and security people that are fouling up. Or maybe the politicians who are not passing good legislation for this matter. At any rate, I think that the US is 'properly doing its job' simply because all of the people who are daily trying to get in and live in prosperity and freedom. However, puttin up a guarded fence on the Mexican side wouldn't be a bad idea what with all of the shenanigans going on down there.
  13. Whups, there is another thread with this exact topic. Trex, is this the second double thread you' ve started?
  14. I guess he's going for the big stuff, so world peace has gotta be in his top five, with a sub catagory on having the Arabs and Israelis become friends. I give him 3 more months.
  15. I don't know if I got my point across, or if it would matter to you, but to repeat myself, if Oprah was a republican SENATOR, she would be nailed to the wall, don't kid yourself. And she would be just as innocent of the crimes committed, but it would't matter to the Media or rabid Dems. Moore would probably make a "documentary" about it. As to the Catholic church, they are slowly becoming accountable, regardless of the Bishops (or whatever they are) who have tried to keep sweeping this under the carpet. I have no idea if your claim about the Canadian government is accurate, but it sure sounds dirty.
  16. I don't know, wouldn't a capitalist regime allow bibles and not get freaked out over the dali lama? Just sayin'.
  17. Psst, you better keep that tidbit of info about getting a letter from a Tory away from dobbin. This could make his week, another Tories keeping lists thread.
  18. SHE PERSONALLY DID NOTHING WRONG. My point is if she were a republican senator or a priest, the fact that she personally did noting wrong would not matter. Do you per chance remember Kathy Griffin(I think) from the Regis show. She had contracted a line of clothes to be manufactured, and it turned out there was child labour involved. The media absolutely hounded her, even though she personally did nothing wrong, but that did not matter to them. But Oprah is given a double standard.
  19. Hey, whatever floats your boat, I appreciate your up front honesty.
  20. Says he with wide eyed innocence... You clearly infer that you have been objective with your use of quotes, which is a big one to everyone in the room except you, apparently. You also had the gall to confront August1991 a couple days ago with the complaint that he wasn't being forthright about his bias. Yet you are regularly under the assumption that you are objective in your views, except for times like this when you are pressed on it.
  21. dobbin, if you go up this page to post #333, you will see I already provided that information. Or, if you please, you can go back further to your actual post.
  22. Capricorn,do go on, having another stream of thought is never a bad thing!
  23. Yes, you voted against being partisan before you voted for being partisan, kind of like the old Kerry flip flop. Tell you what, when you figure it out, let us know.
  24. Ah, but time will tell the tale. After they've been around 40% for 3 more months, will you go back another 3 months in your poll data to ensure you can keep them at 36%? Enquiring minds already know.
  25. I'm sorry, I guess I missed the part where Oprah got fired and arrested. A shame too, she does a lot of good, it's too bad they railroaded her like they did that radio talk show host who utttered the phrase, " Nappy headed hoes" whatever nappy headed means. So the pressure has been mounting for Oprah, eh? After a few days, the media didn't die down, that's when they started calling for her job. The sponsors all yanked their ads from her show due to all of the protest, like with Dog the Bounty Hunter show. One taped phoned call in which he utters the word nigger repeatedly and his show gets yanked. Good thing Oprah at least gets treated like anyone else involved with such scandal. Oh, wait a minute, she didn't get arrested did she. Or get her show yanked for heading an organization in which children were sexually assaulted. She gets treated differently, face it. For merely saying PC incorrect things, those examples I gave have lost their incomes and jobs. IMO, Oprah's situation is worse, if she was a republican senator or a priest, she'd have hell to face. Personally, I don't think she should face hell, but there are clearly two standards in play.
