Yes, of course the teacher is at fault for allowing the name to be used in vain or whatever. But she should not be whipped for it. That they have whippings and beheadings shows what a savage culture it is.

Nothing like using fear and marketing to manipulate the masses!

It's quite simple. Those things that a minority government must get a majority vote for, they take to a vote. Those things that a minority government doesn't need a commons vote for, they don't. To those in Canada who may be uninformed, nuclear energy has become much safer and gentler on the environment, and its making a big comeback. Might as well face it, as China is building these and coal fired plants by the dozen. If we can sell a safer product than, say, Korea, why not do it since they will buy them somewhere.
-
Good news, as Canada builds one of the best nuclear energy plants in the world, being part of this group will help exports. BTW, Jack Layton would probably want a referendum on every single issue the government faces, but just as he didn't get his way when the Liberals were in power and making unilateral decisions, so now with the Tories.

In B.C. we need a cold winter really bad. A sustained cold front of -25c would kill off those pine beetles, but every year we have no such luck. I wonder how the Global Warming crowd is taking this colder winter news.

Yikes, we can agree that such a bumper sticker would be revolting. -

That's pretty funny how you assumed I was referring to you. But I said Democrats, meaning americans, not you. Hillary is still damaged goods, it doesn't matter who's doing the questioning. -

A classic Democrat response, quickly grab another poll result and question the accuracy of the one with damning results. -
U.S. Presidential Elections 2008

I just heard today that Hillary would lose the presidental election against every single one of the Republicans vying for the nod. Kind of warms the heart on a cold winter day. -
No no, I was commenting on the thread title, shades of the future for Harper, which infers Harper will be politically crushed. And, of course, trex calling Howard a white supremacist and a fascist. Unsubstantiated name calling is what makes a troller tick.

Canada blocks Commonwealth climate-change deal
sharkman replied to trex's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Excellent post, since the globe stopped warming in 1998 and is probably entering a normal cooling trend, the kool aid drinkers of the Climate Change crowd will only get more shrill. -
*Sigh*, another trolling thread... For Harper to find the same fate as Howard (he should be so lucky, Howard had several years in power), there would have to be a leader in the Liberal camp. Dion couldn't lead the way down a one way street.

Dion a drag on already floundering Liberals.
sharkman replied to Michael Bluth's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well your analysis sure sounds skewed. Speaking of a long honeymoon proves it, the leftist media in Canada has been hammering away hoping to drive Harper into the ground, but they have failed since his polling data shows a willingness to quickly swell into the 40's at the mention of any good news. You speak of questions now being raised about recent Tory moves but fail to notice that every single decision made has been questioned. You can buy into Dion all you want, but with him at the helm, the Liberals remain leaderless. And Schreiber is a crook trying to stay out of a German prison. Now that he was finally going to get the boot, what a coincidence that he comes up with "new" testimony which would keep him in Canada. -

You've been banging this native drum on this forum quite loudly, but you don't seem to realize where the worst of the treatment native kids received. At home on the reservation. -

Oops, I got an error message so I reposted only to find my first attempt was successful after all. -

When the Liberals speak of a quagmire, you know they speak from personal experience! Anything that keeps Dion as leader longer is good for the Tories and the country. -
Oleg seems confused as well saying he is black on the inside, whatever the hell that means...

U.S. Presidential Elections 2008
sharkman replied to moderateamericain's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
New polls show Hillary slipping badly, and Obama making up ground. This surprises me as I thought Clinton was the heir apparent for the Dems, with the contest merely a formality. -
You misunderstand the situation. It is the judicial system that has been making judgements against his case time and time again, appeal after appeal. He has exhausted his legal options and at the last minute has made yet another appeal to the Supreme court, which has already heard his case twice, and denied him both times. If ever a man deserved to be deported it is this shyster. The Tories have nothing to do with it. And now, at this LATE date, this con artist comes up with new information! Yeah, right. Look, if Mulroney did something illegal he should face the consequences as any Canadian. But it will not come at the hands of this man, whose testimony would be shot down as soon as they looked at his character and willingness to lie when it suited his needs. Of course liberals such as yourself are hoping this incident will somehow implicate Harper and cause the government to fall. The reality is this puts off the inevitable punting of Dion for a few more months, which is only a good thing for the Tories.

In truth, only time will reveal how good Bush has been. I suspect in 20 years, history will show much that can't be seen. I respect the man for always making decisions using proper techniques, which means getting all the data available at the time and making a judgement call. What Clinton used to do, which was simply sticking a finger in the air and deciding based on the polls was shoddy performance. He could have been good if he hadn't based decisions on public opinion or whether the woman in question was willing.

Robert Redford et al
sharkman replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
There have been several recent movies in which Hollywood shows its great disdain for the military and war. They have all bombed, and this movie is just the latest. The attempt at shoving Redford's (and whoever elses) hatred for Bush and this war down movie goers' throats only pisses us off. To paraphrase Laura Ingraham, shut up and act. -

Why don't you re-read my post, and notice I haven't made any edits on it. It is quite clear that I didn't compare pot use with child porn. Maybe you should cut back on the toking a little, dude.
