There has been an influx of capital since the Trump election, to the tune of 2 trillion.

What is your source? Generally those statistics are done quarterly, and I don't see or expect them for a couple of months. Also what is the net, including US capital invested abroad? Without comparing the two you might only be talking about stock market fluctuations.
